i never met such a physically and mentally ill group of people outside jws except for at the local hospital or old folks' home.
from chronic fatigue to fibromyalgia to depression to arthritis to kids lacking lustre to heart problems to cancer, bipolar to every co and his wife having food intolerances.... are jehovah's witnesses the most ailing group?
what is your observation?.

i want to practice christianity but i feel i can't just yet as i'll be 'outed' before i'm ready.
the spy network will report me to the elders, and that's it, i'm gone before i'm ready.
and before my husband is ready.. can one feel spiritually frustrated?
Julia,
I would really give it some time. Try and savour the time you now have. Talking from my own perspective, I did not find - and have still not found - any church association fulfilling. There are far too many things that remind me of where I'd been and why I would no longer want to get back there. Christianity you can practice by following some of the basics that Jesus laid down - for instance fellow feeling, love for others, etc. If eventually doing so in a loose associative framework works for you, the gap period would at least have given you some time to search without being in too much of a hurry.
Best of luck.

It is not up to you, Lord/Lady *lost*, to decree where I read what and what comments I make where. You smart because you are told it's time to move away from this wreck? Then forget it, pile more crap on it. It is your right to which your ancestors fought and sacrificed their lives for, for your good and the greater good of humanity.
What grandstanding!
Re-read what I wrote before your outburst. Every war ends around a table. AAWA and JWN can co-exist respectfully. There seems to be much ego tripping in both communities at this point.
So *lost*, I shall read what I read and write what I write.
Best regards,

*lost*,
Continuously heaping more crap on the wreck makes it uglier. I believe people have spoken enough and vented on the whole AAWA thing. Perhaps it is time to bury the dead, heal the wounds and rebuild the community. The more the harping here, the slower that is likely to happen.

This thread has given every visiting JW and half-hearted lurkers a straight ticket back to the KH.

in an effort to keep their delusion alive it is only natural for them hate something that lifts the vails of their delusion and lay it barren.
their hate is transfered to the faithful rank and file and manifested in their forbidding it to the young who will surely see the ignorance of their delusion.
narcissistic delusions of divine appointment are resisted at the expense of the young.. they hate higher education to the same extent they hate psychiatry because both tread on their delusion and identify it in clear terms..
Just to say that the part about not being appointed because one has a university degree isn't applicable everywhere.
I was made a MS then an elder many years after having a master's degree. No, I didn't "convert"; I am a "born-in".

it was yesterday morning and hubby and i were having a huge sleep in.
it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.
hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.
Bring the narrative to an end somehow, JO. You seem to be acting out a script that gives you the kicks, but your stories are getting a bit boring.

a trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.
my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.
watch this space!.
Fact is, this board and its readers are far more interested in "new light" than the average JW. The believing JW does not care one way or the other what "refinements" or changes are made in the teaching. As far as he/she reads it off the pages of the Watch Tower, it is revealed truth. The matter ends there. Very few take any time to assimilate the impact of the changes made or the contradictions between such changes and "old light".
Neither this "change" nor any others to come will cause any fundamental shift in minds bought to the WT cause.

from talking to several fading jws over the years, it really does appear that assembly talk assignments are usually given to those pos who consistently hand over the thickest envelopes to the co at the end of his week-long visits.
if the envelope was too thin (or there was no enevelope at all), chances are that no one in that congo would get an assemby talk assighnment.
also, if the co and his wife were treated well or taken to expensive restaurants during their visit, that apparently increased the po's chances of getting an assembly talk assignment.
These are slanderous allegations. Been there, done that - but never did an envelop change hands.
Caleb, in which world were you a JW?
