  The Astrodome Was Half Empty or Half Full?

  the district assembly in houston tx last weekend was a trip!.

  first of all i was obliged to go because my daughter was babtised.. it was the longest day that i have had in some years now.

  i guess the longest day i have had since i quit the non-truth 5 years ago.. there was about 15,000 plus in attendance,for anyone who knows how big the astrodome is you would understand what a small group it appeared to be in that big dome.i attended a international assembly there back in 1975 i believe it was,and the dome was packed.. i have also been to many district assemblys there and there was always at least 20,000 plus in attendance.. i made good use of my waisted time and made some observations that i thought i would share with you.. here they are:.

  I was at a convention at the Astrodome in 1990 and it was so packed they had brothers walking around with signs that said "Keep Moving". We found that pretty amusing since we were all in the middle of a crowd that couldn't possibly move. Must have been someone's brilliant idea of a great idea to keep the herd of sheep moving along. Didn't work.

  Sounds like a perfectly miserable way to spend your day Big Jim. My husband grew up in Austin in the 70's and 80's. Do you know any of that crowd?

  Funny story about VeniceIT

  by popular demand, i am yielding to pressure, to tell a story about our very own veniceit.. in march, venice and her parents were visiting us here in washington state, and we all had dinner at our daughter's home one evening.

  (my daughter posts here as princess) princess's son, 4 years old, was quite taken with venice and was showing her around the house.

  he was going up the stairs ahead of her, and turned around, face first at her rather, ummm, er, ample?

  my husband really wants a real copy of the book since all we have is a photocopied version.. any help is appreciated!.

  "kill a temporary, save a bethelite"

  anyone ever heard this before??

  ?...during my theocratic rising star days i was accepted to temporary bethel service (whew, appointment by holy spirit???

  ), and was appalled to hear this for the first time.. what a bunch of lazy ass bethelites us hardworking temporaries were assigned to work with...busting out old walls on the towers building....those poor fellows couldn't make it in the real world, i'm afraid...ya gotta love it!!

  My husband went along with my dad (Mulan's husband) on his last trip. He absolutely HATED it. He is a plumbing contractor with about 15 years experience at the time and was assigned to work under the direction of a kid. He was mad as hell about being bossed around by this lazy guy who had no idea what he was doing. The constant interruptions were frustrating to him as well. I remember being so sad that he didn't like it there. It was the beginning of the end.

  hi from a newbie!

  hi everyone, i have been "lurking" for a week or so and thought i'd join the fun.

  i am a third generation jw who was determined not to make my kids the fourth!

  my husband and i left almost five years ago and have never looked back and as a result have never been happier.. just a quick summary of the past thirteen years.... i never went to college (never even considered it) and was married two weeks after graduating from high school.
