  Is it just me or is the GB asking for money more directly.

  ok soi grew up in the religion and i remember so often the churches being slammed at the meetings for passing the plate and how they shamelessly begged for money.

  how we as jehovah's witnesses are so much better because we never ask for money and the contribution box is sort of hidden in the back of the hall like we were even embarrassed to have to have that.

  just the word contribution was so much better than the words the worldly churches used.

  The constant free vacations (branch reports they called them) to places we couldn't even dream of, free delicious 3 square meals daily, green handshakes, power, authority, respect/fear/worship of millions worldwide, and they have the BEST rooms at bethel.

  So they get to travel first class, and then are zoomed to bethel, followed by visits to assemblies or congs. Wheres the holiday ?

  Rooms similar to luxury condos that would cost $3000 a month (or even more in NYC), they have, with beautiful views, but pretty soon in an isloated prettier area.

  Im sorry NYC is not beautful, its cold and its just concrete. It may be worth a lot of money but thats about the only impressive thing about it.

  Im just an ordinary person but my home town, is a thousand times better than NYC, beaches, water, nice weather, not cold, green everywhere, nYC has nothing compared to it. Im pretty sure nearly ever city or town around the world wins on the same criteria.

  The other bethel workers also live in the same complex, so what exactly did the GB gain ? They probably dont spend much time in their rooms anyway.

  The thrill of not being questioned, and if so, YOU are the problem, never them, billions of dollars at their control, yes BILLIONS (I rememeber being at bethel 2 years ago and a GB member making a comment at morning worship about how much the friends love Jehovah that they give a mulit-billion dollar corp their money to work for them. Was suppsoed to be a joke).

  Firstly it takes a lot of effort to get to the top of the GB. Thirty, forty years of working with little guarantee of "winning" just to be met with free food and a room doesnt seem like they hit the jackpot. If they invested the same time and effort in the corporate world they would have a lot more to show for it.

  Their work and home have security and people willing to give their lives for them, free healthcare, NEVER have to worry about their financial situation, which is huge source of stress to many, free of liabilty because many would take the legal bullets for those men, the list goes on.... Work for nothing? I think NOT! They know what's at stake. Thats why Ray's course was so admirable....

  If they worked in the corporate world and earned hundreds or millions a year they wouldnt need to worry about healthcare, they would have a mansion and enough money until they died.

  The average person in most western countries at least gets the opportnity to retire, those morons keep on managing the stupid charade until they die or leave like Ray. I see them as prisoners rather than beneficiaries.

  I dont get the GB, they grab money for the shareholders and get almost nothing themselves. They work until they die and from what i can tell have above average but not extravagent rooms. No private jets, no dancing girls nothing. Those fools work until they drop, all for nothing.

  Why doesn't the WT close the religion?

  i was pondering the other day, why the watchtower corporation doesn't just sell off all the kingdom halls and hang the jws out to dry seeing they make far more $$$ from business than peddling the religion these days.. then it dawned on me... they need to keep that little sideline going for the tax breaks!.

  i've been giving some thought to the society's latest decision to reduce the size of the awake, and relaunch jw.org as a revamped site - intended for bringing in yet more converts.

  for those who missed it, here is the relevant part of the leaked letter to elders discussing these changes.... the internet is a technology that jehovahs organization is using to good advantage to spread the good news to all corners of the earth.

  consider the impact our web sites are having.

  5/15 WT - WT Society Displays Condescending Attitude towards Marriage

  as most of us know the wt society has always claimed that it's dissapproved in god's sight to marry a non-jw .

  although they've never made it a disfellowshipping offense, any jw who marries outside the jw organization is looked at as " weak " or lacking " spirituality " and loses certain alleged " privileges " in the congregations.

  they use scriptures in the old testament as support for this.

  Esther is Isis the goddess or Easter the same fertility goddess. Mordecai is named after Marduk.

  How is it the Bible uses the name of the pagan goddess associated with the Sun rather than uses her neutral Jewish name ? How exactly do JWs address the fact a book in the Bible is named after the same root as the pagan holiday Easter ?

  The simple answer is of course xians lie and selectively ignore these troublesome facts.

  Its particularly strange that the Bible would have a book named after a pagan goddess, shouldnt they have useed her non pagan jewish name. Perhaps theres a message there that the ancient jews themselves worshipped goddesses and many gods, and xians have erased and pretend not to acknowleddge this when they selectively read the Bible.

  I might be wrong but i believe Esther is one of the few books in the Bible where God or Jeahovah is never mentioned directly or indirectly. This book has absolute no place in the Bible.

  I forgot an important DONT in my previous comment.

  Its unfortunate that most people DONT see that light, good, bad, evil are merely talking about the good, warmth of the sun and its life bringing qualities and the bad, death and cold of night and winter.

  If we got back and look at some of the key words and thoughts in your original post we can see Jesus is the Sun.

  Where and how did it all go so wrong. I suggest that Peter; the one who denied him three time before the cock crowed

  Roosters announce the rising of the Sun each morning. Roosters are very much connected to Sun Symbology, as are lions and eagles. its no surprise that the symbols of France are the crow, Paris is the city of light, Englands uses 3 lions, Germany the Eagle, Astrology has Leo the Lion and so on. If even attempts to dig a bit one can quiet easily start to see solar symbology in the text.

  After all just look at the text "Kingdom of Heaven" isnt that the domain of the Sun and the stars ?

  imho paul is a composite, i find it particular strange that he changed names, after all why does it matter? the name change as i see it might have been to have some believe paul of tarsus was actually somebosy else. we have seen similar tactics where the catholics changed the story of mary just a bit so all followers of isis in egypt became part of the church. with one small change and entire network network of church properties and clergy became part of the catholic church under its control. the costs were minimal, the old properties, idols and all didnt need any changes. the scriptures about jesus having brothers were ignore which wasnt hard as most common ppl didnt have their own copies and couldnt read anyway.

  funnily enought pauls trip to rome, shipwreck, journey path, key people are not uniquely his. exactly the same trip occured to josephus.

  another interesting religious character who was very popular at the time was apollonius of tyana. strangely he too performed miracles, and also lived much of his life in tarsus. hee too went to arabia and the east. on his return he travelled to exactly the same places as paul, preaching to everyone. was sauls name changed to paul so appollonius followers would think they were the same person ?

  another interesting thought i have wondered how exactly did paul persecuteearly members of church? with what autyhority and what ,troops? back then there were many groups of judaism, pharisees, gnostucs, essens and i think saducees. the fact is only josephus had military authority and he as a traaitor could and would have known who and where to persexute the militant jews.

  even the talk itself has 1/2 of its content directed at inactive jws.. obviously this reduction in pages has been in the works for several weeks if not months.

  why pick that date to announce it?

  the 8th april 2012, is also a special jewish holiday of the sun that occurs once every 28 years - birkat hachama. im starting to think the wts picked this date for its astrotheological connection.
