  Can a JWs Elder be "removed" if his wife is known as the congregation "gossip"?

  i remember in my kingdom hall one of our 5 elders bro.

  "smith" had a gossipy wife sis "smith" who would be known to gossip from the time she enter the hall until she left.

  i don't know how she never was reproved or counseled for her gossiping.

  i'm a freelance writer, and am currently writing a story on the jehovah's witnesses church for a melbourne magazine.

  i've spoken with an elder/spokesperson of a melbourne jw church, who explained the official positions of the church at length, but i'm really interested in getting more of a sense of the day to day experiences of jws, both current and former.

  for christendom at large there is no problem in thinking of humans as a body (tent) which houses the soul.. .

  for jehovah's witnesses the human is the tent.

  I always wondered how JW's can read Luke 16:19-31 and NOT realize their whole understanding of this topic is wrong.

  The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

  The beggar dies, angels carried WHAT to Abraham's side?

  Wait a minute, where is Abraham? He should be asleep in death because Jesus hasn't died yet, and only those who die after Jesus can go to heaven?

  Where is the rich man? What is happening to the rich man? That's right he's being tormented.

  Sure it's not a real account. But Jesus reportedly said those things himself. Jesus knowing all things would have known those statements would cause confusion if the concept of an afterlife was false.

  1. ray franz went insane and the watchtower society removed him from the governing body out of compassion.. .

  "crisis of conscience" is a story of a "man with the agenda to destroy the watchtower", full of hatred and anger.. .

  i have finished reading coc and can emphatically tell you, ray writes with great skill, love and compassion for his fellow christians and witnessses.

  I've seen many an inheritence go to the Watchtower. I know for a fact my mum gave all the insurance money from dad's death to the Organisation. She then lived in poverty for years while raising 3 kids on her own.

  i say it's possible, but it'd be funny/insane if it happened.
