What is important is not who wrote what, who authorized the writing or was it inerrant and unquestionably the word of God. What is important is WHAT HAPPENED BACK THEN, and what generally does it mean.

So, how do we really know WHAT HAPPENED BACK THEN, if the Bible is not WHOLE, ENTIRE and FLAWLESS?

A typical response from another Witness.

We are not to talk to angels, and the GOOD ones do not want us to talk to them.

That is a very good reason why we do not know any of the names of the billions of angles that exist with the extreme exception of simply two: Jesus [Michael] and Gabriel.

Remember the account of Jehovah's servant wrestling with the angel all night and asking him his name? He never got it out of him.

We do not even know Satan's name. "Satan" is not his name. It is a title, much like "Devil" that was given to him after his fall into disobedience.

We have no business talking to angels. We don't even have any business talking to Jesus Christ! How much more so would we not want to direct any of our comments to lesser angels or even to former humans whom we may have known who are now in the heavens.

One... one single being in the entire universe is the Hearer of Prayer. He has delegated a tremendous amount of His work to his son and the angels and the ressurected annoited, but Jehovah has never, ever passed on his UNIQUE position as the Hearer of Prayer.

That alone is enough to meditate on for hours!

We know that we don't talk to Jesus direct....so
we wouldn't talk to any of the other angels or
demons......It has been mentioned that anything
we want to say about Jesus/angels, we ask Jehovah
to tell it for us.

For example, when we mention gratefulness for the
ransom sacrifice of Jesus, we tell Jehovah thru
Jesus, then Jehovah in turn tells his son.

Same with angels - we can tell Jehovah how much
we appreciate them for whatever we want to
mention. He in turn will intercede for us and
tell them.

Remember the # 3 talk last week about Mary being
intercessor? I had the part. No way is this done
by her. Jehovah is the only one that can
relay/intercede putting in his words what we have
asked him to tell them.

Please look up the word 'intercessor'.

We can ask Jehovah for his holy spirit to
interpret what is in our hearts, whenever we fail
for words to express ourselves on how we feel.
So I figure Jehovah can tell Jesus and the angels
more beautifully how my heart feels about them.

Just recently it was mentioned about: do we thank
abd appreciate Jesus for his ransom sacrifice, in
our prayers.

God's Channel Quote

there's a quote on the watchtower being god's channel at the site http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/channel.htm.

it lies between august 15, 1933 and november 1, 1933. this quote has a "?/??".

i would like to know if anyone has the date on this magazine.

The quote may actually come from: (Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1933 p. 247).

I found the following by searching google. The formatting of these quotes are a little confusing.

1933: "Enlightenment proceeds from Jehovah by and through Christ Jesus and is given to the faithful anointed on earth at the temple, and brings peace and consolation to them." (Watchtower 1933 p. 276) "It has pleased the Lord to use The Watchtower as a means of conveying his message to his covenant people." (Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1933 p. 247)

Can You Believe Bible Prophecy?

many believe that between a fourth and a third of the bible concerns prophecy.. many believe that history shows that god's unerring prophecies of the kingdoms and empires of,egypt,isreal,judah,babylon,persia,greece and rome all came to pass in minute detail.. if his prophecies came true in centuries past,can you----should you-----believe in bible prophecy today?.

btw.we are not talking about the society but the many other religious teachers and scholars who swear by the fulfillment of bible prophecy.. blueblades

Its not like the Gospel writers would invent the narratives that fulfilled the so-called prophecies in the OT.

They wouldn’t do that. There is no evidence of anyone trying to present fake accounts of Jesus’ life.

Oh…..wait……I forgot about all the NT apocrypha. Never mind.

How can we be sure that these so-called prophecies were not written after the fact?

Christians like to point to the accuracy of the prophecies in the Book of Daniel as proof of the inspiration of the Bible. The Book of Daniel is traditionally believed to have been written in the 6 th century BCE. Interestingly though, the history and prophecies seem to become increasingly more accurate the closer it gets to the 2 nd century. This suggests that Daniel was extremely familiar with 2 nd century history while ignorant of 6 th century history. The simple solution to this craziness is to accept that the book of Daniel was compiled in the 2 nd century and its prophecies are nothing more than history written as prophecies.
