How do JW's define god in reference to Jesus?

in a group on yahoo, i'm involved in a discussion about the deity of jesus.

i've asked the witnesses there to give a specific definition of the word god (in reference to jesus) in john 1:1. so far they have not responded.

i was wondering if any current jws or or former jws here could give me a the proper watchtower definition/view.

the publication and distribution of bibles and bible literature by jehovah's witnesses is part of a worldwide bible educational work that is supported by voluntary donations.. .

interesting statement just above the picture of the new world translation.. i never thought about it, but if the watchtower is so interested in worldwide bible education, then why don't they have an online version of the nwt?.

letter writing is just one of the many ways that we can do witnessing.

i have known of sisters and brothers that went through the newspaper looking for obituaries (death announcements) and researched the family members then wrote them a brief letter included the brochure "when someone you love dies".

in doing this some have started bible studies.

a quick search for the "united nations" on the watchtowers public information site, listed an article with a reference to the july 22, 2001 awake.

the awake article titled "helping hands are everywhere" contains a box entilted "international year of volunteers".

this is clearly one example of the watchtower disseminating information for the united nations.. interesting note:.

Help, Changes in criterion regarding membership

has anyone found out what changes have been made in the criteria regarding membership as a "dpi/ngo" since 1991. i brought up the un issue in a jw chat group.

they apparently got the disassociation letter a couple days after it came out.

the following is the latest attempt to justify the issue.
