Its just pleasant and joyful news for a change. Does something being newsworthy need the prerequisite of being ominous and/or disturbing? I say embrace the good and "warm, fuzzy" news as a diversion from the doom and gloom so often presented during the average news program. There will always be dreadful things and atrocities being committed globally. Let's embrace the birth of a child :)

always apostasy?
by losingit inso i've been reading many posts and threads of people's experiences leaving the jw fold.
i get the impression that many here were df'd or da'd due to apostasy.
is there anyone here that found out ttat after being df'd for a reason other than apostasy?

I was publicly reproved for something other than apostasy and it was actually because I was not disfellowshipped because of the other person's involvement and his "connections", I started to really look into my ever present doubts. After despicable treatment during this time (including the horribly degrading and humiliating questions that elders swear they dont ask...hahahaha) and subsequent times I realized I had had enough. It was a lightbulb moment and have never returned and have zero doubts or guilt. I am now for all intents and purposes, agnostic.

Who has had their District Convention seats stolen by other Witnesses?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inover the years i have had to deal with this problem personally and as a attendant covering my section at various convention centers.
i had people who were suppose to be decent jehovah witnesses pick up all the books, bags and coolers belonging to brothers and sisters who arrived at the appropriate time and picked them up and dumped them all at the end of the seating row.
so here is what goes down, the sister runs up to me panicking and saying "dear brother, i had all those seats reserved for my family and now look!

It was the circuit assembly at which I got baptized...I had placed my books and my bag with hair dryer and bathing suit and towel in the row reserved for baptismal candidates. When I went to sit down it was gone. The attendants searched and during the baptismal talk found my things had been moved 6 rows back to the middle of the row "supposedly" because the items in question were in the reserved baptismal seating. No one bothered to ask why the average attendee would have a hair dryer and bathing suit. Turns out the people who ended up sitting in my original seat weren't even baptismal candidates.
Now I wish my stuff hadn't been found...perhaps I may have procrastinated in actually going thru with it.

2013 Drama: "Show Yourself Attentive"
by breakfast of champions inthis is the first of three "dramas" this dc, and i have to say, it was one of the weirdest dramas ever.
i won't go through all the details.
maybe someone else wants to throw in their 2c.. it starts out with two men standing on the "beach" talking, but it took me awhile to figure out what in the hell was going on.

I just watched it. The whole thing and it was so irritating. I canNOT imagine sitting thru another convention ever again...

South pacific or virgin islands. One side of the world vs the other but islands. My preference. More beauty, fewer people. I cherish my privacy even now :)

it hit me 2 yrs ago that it was a cult and i had wasted my life on a lie. i figure if there is a god that he will be like jesus and not mean and vengeful like that jehovah person and he will understand my circumstances. if there is no god it wont matter anyway. so no. not worried about the gt in the slightest. i am completely out :)

i have been told by everyone on my congregation to not trust online dating.
especially if this is supposed to be the "truth".

I think u should avoid POF like the plague. i was inundated with contacts but there is no screening because it is free. i have a close friend who met her new lawyer husband on POF but not until she met some scary people. i tried christian mingle. still guys contacting based on looks only. Was overrwhelming. i then joined eharmony where there is screening and tons of compatibility questions. they send u a few matches per day. no browsing. i met a great guy. didnt work out because we were at surprisingly different levels in a very important area. and members have to be completely divorced or widowed which i like.
i was set up in an arranged marriage of sorts (jw) who after the wedding stole thousands from me and turned out to be a con man. i kicked him out within a yr of marriage (much later than my uber witness parents would have liked. they wanted him out a week after the wedding)
online dating has its perils and u have to be careful but i think it can be a useful tool. limiting oneself to jw's has a high chance of incompatibilities after the fact since u can spend virtually no time with them without someone standing over ur shoulder as a chaperone.
good luck. just be careful and patient. love is not sitting on every corner but i am sure it is out there.
you have options

My dad was the kitchen overseer at all the circuit assemblies when I was little. I helped make the egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. I remember the huge griddle where the eggs were cracked and cooked....real eggs!!! The donuts came in and I got first pick because we had to be there at 5am to get it all ready in time. I had 2 friends with me and we got to roam the dark assembly hall in those early hours playing hide and seek. We made Salisbury steak and baked chicken. The semi frozen chocolate pudding was the best!! The only bad thing about being the overseers daughter was that I got dish duty every time. Cleaning the huge pans and sanitizing them and drying them. I couldn't wait to be 16 to work in refreshments in the secondary cafeteria but they did away with all that right before I turned 16.
That assembly hall has since been torn down and a new one built sans kitchen of course.
(I did feel special having kitchen access lol)
