You obviously are NOT taking this whole thing seriously are u.
I suggest you take a remote beach holiday for the next 5 weeks or so. Somewhere deserted. Morecambe will do.
You remind me of when my wife sat down to watch a game with me once. I'm a Man Utd fan and we were playing the Filth (Liverpool) She was getting quite into the whole thing and I was shouting similar sort of things at the telly as your partner. Suddenly we scored a beauty and in my cultured and intellectually superior manner I leapt out out of my seat and celebrated wildly. She looked at me totally bewildered and asked why I was cheering. It turned out that she'd assumed we were the team in red but as the game was at Anfield we were wearing white. She's been cheering the wrong team for about an hour

Did you know of any JW's brothers that were "wife beaters"? Were they DF'd?
by booker-t inyears ago when i was attending my old kh there was an elder that was very stern.
bro glen(not his real name) used to be very firm in telling students about their talks not being good, or where they needed to improve.
i know i was "terrified" of bro glen.

Yep.
Quiet unassuming guy. Was the second husband of this sister and the step father to her two kids.
I went out with the step daughter for a few months and could never understand why she was nervous around him. I was only about 19 myself and didnt pickup on what was going on. He really liked me and wanted me to marry his step daughter (lucky escape - she was barmy!)
It was several years later that it began to dawn on me what was going on there.
It turned out that the elders knew all about it and regularly "counselled" him. Wife continued to wear dark glasses.

how do jws explain roman;10;8?
by badboy inthis verse ,i think is where `jesus christ is lord' is written, the word kyrios is used, same as is used for jehovah.
-
Pubsinger
Badboy. No that does NOT mean that jesus is God the father.
Sad Emo picked up on your error.
You will find plenty of scriptural evidence which points to the deity of Christ but you won't find anything to support the idea that the Son is the same PERSON as the Father. That indeed is modalism/Sabellianism.
Scripture doesn't support this. The Church doesn't teach or believe this. The Creeds do not say this.
However this is EXACTLY the straw man arguement JWs use to disprove the diety of Christ. They "prove" that Jesus isn't the Father and use that to reject the Deity of Christ.

Because JWs are continually told that parties/large gatherings are bad, when they eventually do go against the guidelines they "over compensate" and end up behaving in a more unrestrained manner than people "in the world" who socialise freely and regularly.
It's like when they overstep the mark tjhey don't know how to behave - exactly the way they portray everyone else.

No Trespassing!! Breaking news for local JW's.
by Mulan inthis week at the book study, at all congregations in the u.s., a letter was read saying if you go to a house or property with a "no trespassing" sign, you must not enter, or knock on the door.
you have to leave immediately.
a sign saying "no solicitors" is too ambiguous, and they are to use their own judgment, and don't have to knock.
-

Shouldn't the WT be telling everyone that this is exactly the same as the government telling them their work is banned? All those countries who want to ban their work should just put up no trespassing signs and the witnesses would just stop!!!!!They have a scriptural OBLIGATION to knock on those doors and if they have to pay a penalty then they should willingly do it.
A No Trespassing sign doesn't mean the householder isn't in need of there message. They should accept anything the legal system metes out JOYFULLY, safe in the knowledge that they are doing Gods' Will
All elders should set a lead in this.

Does my Dad really believe? Carbon Dating?
by Crumpet inlast night i watched a documentary about climate change on bbc1 by our own beloved david attenborough and for the first time with a little ad-lib commentary from mr crumpet i finally grasped how carbon dating works.
it showed a coal mine - open cast in china and explaiened how the coal comes from trees but that it takes hundreds of thousands of years to become coal.
my dad was a miner - a coal miner - travelling miles underground to get coal.

I think a young persons asks article said dating carbon was ok as long as it was baptised and a pioneer.
