this is part of a fundamentalist "war" on women's rights, in my opinion.
i'm trying to get the word out to as many people as i can.
this just came across my screen.
Sam, I don't care how many docs he has working with him/for him. My gyno is in a group with 12. That is not unusual at all. They are factories. You get exactly 10 minutes with the doc. Less if you need a pap smear and a pill script.
Sit down, legs up, open, swab, close, fell your belly, close, ask if you need a script and they are gone to the next patient.
They are much more concerned with PREGNANT women. The liability is much higher.
As for telling women to pray for PMS. Next time you wrench your back, sprain your ankle, have a migraine headache or anyother *pain* I suggest you *pray*. See how that works to relieve your pain....
It won't.
His credentials are not that impressive. Many OB/GYNs have the same.
I'll never understand why women go to a man for this anyway. At least a woman has experienced cramps, bloating, mood swings, etc. A man simply will never understand.

Getting good OB/GYN care is hard enough.
I have never had children. As a woman who just needs gyno care and birth control, the docs I have seen treat me like a second class citizen. Since we have relocated to 5 citicies in 12 years, I have had 6 different gynos. (1 moved to a farm to be closer to nature and her own 7 children)
Anyway, my periods have been 2-3 weeks long, I called and was told to go see an endocrinologist...it must be my hormones.
I saw the endo yesterday. The endo asked if the gyno checked for fibroids, did a D & C or any other thing to look for *thngs* inside of me to make my periods last 2-3 weeks long. No, I said...the doc looked at her intern and shook her head. Clearly now I have to call the gyno and ask *whats up*?
I have a FEMALE gyno. They just are too busy and too strectched to really care. And she understands women. She is one. (I think/hope)
A man who thinks prayer will work on PMS is an ass. He has no right pushing his stupid, F-upd, bible-thumping agenda on women.
His priority should be women's health and what is the best for the patient. Only that. If that means pregnancy prevention, he has an obligation to help.

wat do you think is a 'good' age to die?
if i'm physically active and strong, i say 74.
I will not be returning here for any reason not even to read...............
What about that hot gal we were going to find for you?

in one post, i said:one possible reason that both native americans and blacks (then slaves) were treated so badly for so long is that both largely sided with the british in the war of independence.
i guess countries have some kind of giant collective consciousness that takes a while to change.. .
I must add:
The weird thing is that the only religious people/great grandparents I had were the JWs. My Swedish grandfather never went to church. Neither did his Irish wife. My Polish great grandmother on the other side (the one who was not the evil slave) never got into religion. My other Polish great grandparents were JWs... both were annointed. She became an evil slave and he stayed the course til death.
Out of 4 great grandparents and 4 grandparents that were alive when I was a kid and I *knew* growing up, only 1 ended up with any religion at all. The great grandfather on my mothers side who ended up being an annoited JW....the rest seemingly were godless. I guess that's where I got it....

Abaddon, I agree wholeheartedly with what you wrote. The stats, I am sure are true. Those are very powerful points. That religion is important in *most* Americans lives and minds is startling and frightening. I know some very ardent Catholics....they really are scarry they way they carry on about God and such....
Can we convince ourselves that the bigotry inculturated into our great, great grandparents by religion is going to be completely absent in the society that exists today?
I can't, for one...
I cannot either. All I can do is treat people how I want to be treated. Fairly and decently. I don't know what else to do or how else I can make up for what I did not do or pay for sins I did not commit.
My relatives were peasants on the Polish/Russian side. They came over here between 1890-1914. My Swedish side came over 1918-1925.
Why should I feel guilty for the way other white people have acted? I personally have never tried to be hurtful or rude or discriminatory. I have never been in a position to offer a job, loan, or anything else that would impact someone's life.
What is an average person to do?

but I truely believe the suffering that Native Americans and the Black community have endured are at the hands of past and present Americans for the most part. That's not to say all Americans treat Native Americans and the Black Community as lesser individuals, it's just a generaliztion.
Obi, that is so generalized, it is true.
I don't know any Native Americans personally. At least I don't think I do. So I can honestly say I have never treated them as lesser individuals...
We have about 15 black families within 3 blocks from our home. 1 lives next door and 1 lives across the street. I treat them no differently then the other neighbors. They are invited to all barbeques, all card parties, etc. They are just like *everyone else*. We talk about work, our houses, the other neighbors and what is going on with the area in general.
What should *I/we* be doing differently to treat black/Native Americans better? I honestly don't know. My neighbors seem happy. Are they really unhappy and just waiting to lash out and hurt the white people for the injustices of the other white people in the world?

And as for fighting a civil war "to end slavery"? Please tell me you're joking! Ending slavery was used as a tool in the war by the Yankees to weaken the Confederate south who relied on them. It was not the reason for fighting the war.
Gone with the Wind was historical wasn't it?
I agree with everything and read everything Simon.
I am still trying to understand how this translates to today. How does this affect what is happening with race relations in America today? At least from your perspective?

Now, if you want to argue that slavery for an extra almost 100 years was not suffering then be my guest. I think both groups suffered and to some degree this had to do with the war. The Native American siding with the British certainly fed into the American psyche that they were 'the enemy' and deserved to be killed ... it excused the genocide that followed. If you are saying that they would have been treated exactly the same if they had sided with the Americans then what does that say about the sort of people the Americans were?
My opinion...
Slavery continued because people were greedy. Since we cannot guess what would have happened, we cannot say that slaves would not have been freed if they had risen against the British. Same thing with the American Indians. But, based upon the fact they fought a bloody civil war to end it, they would not have. That says they (The American British/Dutch/German/Irish/Spanish/French/Etc) were greedy bastards. Glad I am not decended from them....
The American British/Dutch/German/Irish/Spanish/French/Etc. who set out to tame the *west* and take away more land from the Indians did not care who they sided with in any war. They just wanted the land. They came in with land grants from politicians and pushed the Indians off (and killed them)....
What this says about the sort of people the Americans is the same thing it says about the William the Conq...Oh, I'll leave him out of the discussion.
It is the same principal. The guy with the bigger weapon, who knows how to use it and can gather more man power, wins.
I don't think the treatment of blacks and Indians had anything to do with the revolution. It just had to do with one group thinking they were better. There is too much historical evidence pointing in that direction. Even the dubs bought into it....
I am sure the same attitudes exist in other western countries. They just are loathe to let the secret escape lest they sound/be like America....

I really think that is a thin arguement.
So is the reason women have been treated like crap for so long because....what? We know how short your schlongs really are?!
