something is out of date that is in a publication only 3 years old
This BRAND NEW book is out of date! They have a picture of Guy Pierce in there with the GB.
i heard that on sat the jws released a new book at the convention god's kingdom rules.
is it a verse by verse of ezekiel or daniel?
does it mention the "overlapping generation"?

brother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.
i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.
"there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".
Batman89, were you in Seattle, too? Or in a tie-in? Yes that statement was so absurd, I wrote it down in my [very few] notes.
There was also quite a bit said about having favorite sport teams and rooting for them. It was under the guise of nationalism.
This was in the talk about who would NOT inherit the kingdom, and it referred specifically to "idolatry". Any one who we get over-enthusastic about is considered idolatry. Hello? JWs and the GB? JWs and "the organization"? How is that NOT idolatry? When Lett was introduced for his talks, the audience clapped BEFORE he started, as well as after his talk. How is this NOT idolatry????
1 corinthians 13:8 - love never fails.... .
i've always thought it meant that where love once existed it will always exist, always be felt no matter what happens.
the last few years have forced me to abandon that understanding in favor of new light.. now i'm thinking: love never fails to be the appropriate way to handle any given situation.
Love never fails for the person showing love. It only depends on one person. Love is not something that depends on reciprocation. If we show love to others, we ourselves are never failed for that. It may not be returned, but that doesn't mean it failed.
the organization is shifting away from printed literature in favor of their new jw.org website.
the website contains content that is not printed in literature.
kiosks, trolleys, and storefronts are being used to showcase the website.
put the information on the internet and the prophesy is fulfilled.
You mean, fulfilled again. It was already fulfilled in 1995.

Still, that first-century preaching work was merely a foretaste of what would be accomplished during the last days. Looking forward especially to our time, Jesus said: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10) Has this prophecy been fulfilled? Indeed, it has.
my friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?
Reading this thread, I keep having this going through my head:
Psalm 26:4: "I do not associate with deceitful men, And I avoid those who hide what they are."
the guy who owns this website is supposed to be the guy who made the "caleb" videos for the wt......he has recently moved into my wifes' congregation.. (i have been 'in-active' for almost 8 years, so have very few ties to anyone in the congragation except for my wife, and our relationship is more room-mates than anything, so i dast not ask regarding this.
any info from her would be biased anyway).. quite by accident my grandson mentioned that he'll be doing some editing for this fella.
i visited the website momentarily and felt sick at the openiong screen: seriously j-dub influenced.
Actually, it looks like an older power house, probably to match the "Creative POWER HOUSE" part of his intro. Google some images for "power house" and you'll see what I mean.
so we've seen as the current gb is getting more facetime in an effort to reach the hearts and minds of the rank and file.
this took a leap with video feeds at an open annual meeting.
the international conventions are taking this a step farther.. do you think that local speakers at kingdom halls could ever be replaced by headquarter approved video feeds?.
I doubt it at this level. However, there have been some experiments done with having assemblies broadcast to KHs. This may be something we see in the future.
it seems i am going to have to teach people to use a tablet as part of my job and i don't even have one!
any advice would be most helpful please.. i keep reading blurb on amazon etc and now i'm really confused.
what should i buy?
After purchasing multiple android tablets, I went with iPad finally a couple years back. Why? It just worked. All the time. I've had very few hiccups with it. Apple reviews every single app that goes on their (unless you jailbreak it), so you're almost ensured having quality. Android, however, is not that way. If you do decide to go with Android, do not go cheap. Go with a Samsung model (there's several to choose from). Samsung seems to be among the best out there among Android tablets.
Oh, yeah... After multiple issues with my wife's Android, I took her to the store to "try out" an iPad mini for just a few minutes. Those few minutes paid off. She was sold and hasn't had any issues whatsoever with it, unlike the Android, where I was constantly "fixing" it for her.
you all know the doctrine, it's satan's system, can't participate, voting means putting faith in man instead of god, etc.
if so, if god put them in place, then he put faith in them to handle things to an extent and so if you happen to live in a country where people vote on how that government does things, should they not be voting?
now here is a real contradiction...... as the bible says, it's impossible to get outside of the world.
Hey, ducatijoe, don't shoot the messenger. I just did a quickie search on the WT Library for voting and found the article. Read the rest of my posts. Yes, I'm still in, but mentally, I'm waaaaay out. Cheers!

I had no idea that voting was a matter of conscience.
I'm willing to bet that most JWs have no idea about this either.
