@Chris Tann, the meeting in November is for the U.S. only, I believe (and maybe Canada). It's the Zone meeting. They don't call it Zone Visits any more... Branch Visits, I think. Anyway, to my knowledge, this is limited in audience to the U.S. Branch. At least, that's my understanding.

10 hours is just another carrot to dangle in front of JWs. Now, nearly EVERYONE can have a title!

Yes, what The Searcher said...
Also, this link discusses this in depth: http://www.wickedshepherds.com/ObeyThem.html
Not that it's 100% accurate, but it is interesting, nonetheless.

So, I posted the question about "Gog of Magog" begin Satan a couple of years ago (as the girl next door pointed out). Makes me wonder if WTBTS really does get their "nu lite" from this site.
BTW, it's not "Gog of Magog" in Revelation 20.
Satan will be released from his prison, and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Ma′gog, to gather them together for the war. - Rev 20:7,8
In context, Gog and Magog represent the nations in the four corners of the earth who are misled BY Satan, not Satan himself.
Biblically, Gog was a head chieftain of Meschech and Tubal in the land of Ma'gog. Ma'gog was a PLACE, not a person. (Eze 38:3) Another Gog was the grandson of Joel, a descendent of Gad (1 Chron 5:1)
There was one other Ma'gog, one of the sons born to Japheth after the flood. (Gen 10:2)
Back to Revelation 20:7,8, what's noteworthy is that this occurs AFTER Satan is released from the abyss, which is AFTER the thousand years have ended. Thus, God and Magog will not be revealed who they are until that time. Whoever they are, they are very many... as it says, the number is as the sand of the sea. (Of course, in WT lingo, that might be just 144,000, since that's apparently what the number of grains of sand and number of star promised to Abraham turn out to be. <sarcasm>)
What does this mean for JWs? That their doctrine of Gog of Magog BEFORE Armageddon is totally incorrect.
It may also mean that there is no Armageddon before the thousand years. Perhaps (I don't know for sure) this "war" in Revelation 20 is the same war mentioned in Revelation 16:14.

Does the bible have a central theme? Does it prove inspiration?
by GreenhornChristian indoes the bible have a central theme?.
there seems to be a general consensus throughout christian religions that there is a consistent theme throughout the bible.
the seeming evidence of a theme coming from a collection of books written by over 40 different authors over a period of 1500 years is what givse credence to the claim that the bible is an inspired literary work.

WTBTS teaches that the central theme of the Bible is God's Kingdom. Well, after reading the Bible for myself, I can say, most assuredly, that that is not the case. While the OT largely has prophecies relating to Christ, there is an even more overarching theme that I picked up on, and that is, very simply: take care of those who are less fortunate than you... widows, orphans, the poor. It's one of the main reasons Sodom was destroyed (Eze. 16:49), and it is named as the form of acceptable worship (James 1:27). The Mosaic Law has numerous portions in it related to this, and God removed his support of the Israelites for ignoring the poor among them.
If I were asked, what is the theme of the Bible, I would say (to quote Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure): "Be excellent to each other!"
Does it prove inspiration? No. That isn't provable, in my opinion.

How Much Drinking Is Too Much?
by minimus ini have seen that some say if a man has 3 beers per day or a woman has 2 glasses of wine per day, that they may have .

It also depends on the beer of course ... are we talking real beer or bug light? :)
bug light.... that's too funny!
You know you're drinking too much if you come to depend on it. Each person is different. If a person has one glass of wine a day, is it too much? Probably not. If a person can't get through the day without a drink, then it's probably too much.
Interestingly, in a talk at the 2013 DC, the speaker defined being drunk as one having 4 or 5 drinks, depending on tolerance levels. While they discourage drinking too much, one cannot be DF'd for being an alcoholic. They can only be DF'd for being drunk.

Armageddon "WILL" be Here Before 2014!
by african GB Member ini met a jw this past saturday, he was doing street witnessing, he told me that the end was coming.
i asked him when that is going to happen, and he told me that 2014 will be 100 years since satan was dismissed from heaven.
he told me that it would'nt make sense for god to let more than 100 years "pass before ending this world".. .

Ok, I'll bite. What's the significance of 100 years in biblical chronology?
Then He said to A′bram: “Know for certain that your offspring will be foreigners in a land not theirs and that the people there will enslave them and afflict them for 400 years. But I will judge the nation they will serve, and after that they will go out with many goods. As for you, you will go to your forefathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age. But they will return here in the fourth generation, because the error of the Am′or·ites has not yet reached its full measure.” - Gen 15:13-16
I noted this some time back, that a generation may be as long as 100 years, based on this passage. Well, unless Armageddon comes by the end of today (still Oct 2 here in the U.S.), this isn't it.

CHANGES? "-- Christ had taken Kingdom power in 1914, there RIGHTLY could be changes--" Karl Adams quoted in CoC, page 25
by prologos inwe hear of shocking changes to come, for old timers and young, were surprised before, saying perhaps: "how dare they-- the scriptues-- the early christians--" we might think, but yesterday,.
reading coc the above line came into view , and it struck me: here is the mindset in bethel.
power is invested in them, and they will change it, under the guise of ruling for christ.. i am, or was, primarily interested in doctrine, and these changes, (capitals mine) that adams, the head of the writing department, referred to during the research for the 'aid" book, was on governance in the congregation,.

I am reminded of this passage:
Now, brothers, these things I have applied to myself and A·polʹlos for your good, that through us you may learn the rule: “Do not go beyond the things that are written,” so that you may not be puffed up with pride, favoring one against the other. For who makes you different from another? Indeed, what do you have that you did not receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not receive it? Are you already satisfied? Are you already rich? Have you begun ruling as kings without us? I really wish that you had begun ruling as kings, so that we also might rule with you as kings. - 1 Cor 4:6-8
