one of my friends who is a ms told me today that the elders have 'marked' me because i'm a reg.pioneer and i've decided to go to college next semester???!

he said he can't tell me anymore but to be careful---what the hell does 'mark' mean?

The organization does not want any of the members to be exposed to highe education because you will begin to learn and think for yourself. I left the organization in the 80s. Went to the university at the age of mid 40s and now have two degrees. Both of my children also got their degrees in their 40s. The organizatin kept me and many others from advancing. Please don't listen to them. Go to the University. What the others told you about what being marked means is correct. They have been doing this since I can remember and I grauated from high school in 1962. Only one boy from the circuit went to college and everyone thought he was bad witness. I wonder how sucessful he is now. I'll bet he doesn't clean offices for a living. Go to the University!! Control your own future!

so i've been reading the bible, (for the fist time ever and i was a born in) i stopped going iilike 3 years ago and i wanted to have a good understanding of the bible and not just the wt.

but holy crap that's some 18rated stuff!

i mean i'm still in genesis and it's all vengeance this, condemn that and genocide everything else!

Just finihed reading the book "Misquoting Jesus." Interesting book on those who did the translating of the scriptures. I have had problems with believeing the Bible also. I ask myself why we have never seen any miracles, why God would

destroy some man trying to keep the Ark of the Covenant from falling and many other thing that seem strange. The mistreatment of women and so many other thing don't sound right. My brothers, both xjws, stopped believing the Bible long

ago. I have studied a lot of science and the more I learn, the more I believe in a Creator. There is so much intelligence in creation. Just studying plant biology was impressive. I don't believe the JW organization. They are just a publishing

corporation that has make millions off of us stupid publishers (i.e. book and mag sellers). They will go to any lengths to protect their corporation.

13 Third, holy spirit is at work in bringing Bible truths to light. Although we cannot measure the exact length of “this generation,” we do well to keep in mind several things about the word “generation”: It usually refers to people of varying ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period; it is not excessively long; and it has an end. (Ex. 1:6) How, then, are we to understand Jesus’ words about “this generation”? He evidently meant that the lives of the anointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other anointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation. That generation had a beginning, and it surely will have an end. The fulfillment of the various features of the sign clearly indicate that the tribulation must be near. You may be among those who, perhaps because of extreme shyness or apprehension, once thought, ‘I could never go preaching from house to house!’ Yet, you now have a zealous share in that work. Many faithful Witnesses of Jehovah have continued preaching in the face of opposition or persecution. Only God’s holy spirit can empower us to overcome daunting obstacles and to do things that would be impossible in our own strength. (Mic. 3:8; Matt. 17:20) By having a full share in the preaching work, you show that you are cooperating with that spirit.

it appears to be solidly, irrevocably there.

but, as you sail forward faster and faster approaching that horizon you never gain even.

Well, I have just finished reading the article, "Holy Spirit's Role in the Outworking of Jehovah's Purpose." The writer uses a bizzarre method of reasoning, to say the least. It has been so long since I read/studied a WT that I can not now believe I actually believed all the nonsense. I hope that's not lible, but the whole reasoning is a little "out there." I don't think it could survive a serious critical analysis. I need to reread it and consider the scriptues quoted. I have a scanner but have no clue on how to use it. One of my friends told me all I had to do was push the "scan button" but I think I need a little more information that that. I will try and figure out how to do it but if anyone has any instructions on how to scan the material and get it on this site, I will try it.
