dear brothers and sisters,.
who votes on this forum for president, local elections, i have never voted in my life.. .
i have served on jurys many times, no conscientious issues there, i know it is up to everyone to come to their own ideas, our "speaker" made me think, why can't i vote, or why should i not vote?
In the US I believe you can go to the Post Office and get the papers needed to register to vote. In Georgia, USA, you can go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and obtain the papers needed to register to vote. I have been
voting since the 80's. If you don't vote , you can't complain about what's happening. I vote in every election held.
Cedars, I have taken your survey.
for more than 30 years i believed everything that came from the watchtower society, especially since i lived at bethel for a while and i knew a lot of the gb members, who to me seemed intelligent and personable.
at the beginning, the emphasis was on the bible, the kingdom, jehovah and jesus.
but gradually over time, there would appear an elephant in the room that no one seemed to talk about, such as the change in the understanding of "generation.
When I read in the WT that Jesus was mediator for only the 144000 and not the "other sheep." They may have always thought that, but they had never
said it openly,as far as I knew. When I read that I knew they were lying. I knew then that I did not belive anything they said. Later, after reading CoC
and the way they managed to get rid of Ray Franz, I wanted nothing more to do with them.
happy nurses week to my fellow jwn nurses!
does anyone work for a good employer who does anything special for you for the week?
my company doesn't..
Good Luck sooner7nc. Nice GPA. Nursing classes are hell. Get ready for lots of study and little sleep. Forget your social life until you graduate.
BOOMER SOONER! What lovely words. I need to watch more college football!!
Yes you can. I always read your posts and go to your links. Thanks for all the infor you provide for us cedars.
I guess I don't know how to start a new topic. I do want to say that I feel this site has a lot of people who not only have talent but a lot of knowledge to impart to others. I check this site every morning and have learned
a lot not only about the WTS but also about life and different ways of looking at the world. I guess all the smart ones have left the organization. I just know I could not believe what the fds is dishing out but this site makes me
think outside the box of the organzation. I can't believe I stayed in it so long. Thanks for all the infor I get here at this site.
recently, i showed a great deal of vulnerability by posting that severe pain had popped out again and my morphine pump needs some tinkering.
it seems i am attacked with some frequency for posting here but other frequent posters are not.
rather than discuss the merits of a subject, some people engage in personal attack.
I enjoy your posts and any knowledge on law that you present is appricated. As a nurse, I sympathize with your pain. I deal with people's pain everyday that I work as an oncology nurse. I have much empathy with those who
have such pain. I do hope you are feeling better and that your pain has eased.
ok, i think the writing department has well and truly lost the plot now!.
on page 14 of the august 15th watchtower, there is an extensive section on the perils of the internet, with the caption "do you heed bible-based warnings about the internet?
" in large intimidating letters.
The entire theme of this article scares me.I have not read many wts in years but the article makes little reference to Jesus. Paragraph 3 says that "Paul's admonition to "carry on as citizens" applies principally to those
who will rule with Christ in heaven." The entire article's focus is on listening and doing what the fds directs. I don't remember them writing that way years ago or maybe I just forgot. Then, of course, there is the threat of
"Soon God's Kingdom will be the only govenment ruling the earth. It will oversee all aspects of daily life, not only spiritual but also civil."(paragraph 16.) To me, that is a scarey thought. Thank goodness I don't believe them.

Sinister.Com was registered September 3rd, 1995, roughly 15 months earlier, and had been in 'full swing' since the beginning of November, 1995. When it started, sinister ran Slackware linux, with 40MB of RAM and 2GB of disk space, on a Pentium 90. The modem was a Hayes 28.8k bps one, connected via PPP to the ISP TIAC.net, with DNS provided by l0pht.com. That machine, much in its original condition, still exists in a dusty basement, as testament to those heady days.
Bishop James Ussher dated the creation of the world to Sunday, the 23 October 4004 BC. I think and hope that I am more accurate in my dating of the Internet. This page is far from complete.

I ran across this on the evil internet. I was using the internet before this while attending the University but most of the people I knew who did not attend school did not have a computer at home. It has not been decades as
the article states but we know the WT is not reliable.
