imagine boarding a bus with your family for a long anticipated vacation.
the destination is a place that is promised to be beautiful warm and sunny.
as you are boarding the bus you are given a ticket stub with several paragraph's of fine print.

so far here in nyc nothing but light rain and wind, i wish it would stay that way for the duration, but they say so far it's gonna hit hard.. .
Watching tv and looks bad. It's chilly and windy in SE GA, maybe effect from storm, don't know. All you in Sandy's path, take care. Nature does not care who you are. She's in control.

lately i've been thinking about fading from the cong but im not sure about what would be the top reason in my list.
without writing 2 page answers, question for anyone posting in repply to this or whoever reads this.
what would be your reason/reasons for fading?
I wish I had faded instead of just telling it like it is and getting df'd. I could have still had my family. Yet, I have progressed so much since leaving the borg, that maybe that would not have worked for me. There is so much to consider when making this fade/don't fade decision. Proceed with caution.

Welcome to all from Africa from SE USA. I work with several people from Africa. I was discussing rhymes that I learned in the first grade with my friend from Nigeria such as :one two buckle my shoe, three four shut the door, and one little two little three little Indians. I was so surprised that she had learned the same first grade rhymes in Africa that I had learned in Texas. She is young enough to be my daughter, so that surprised me even further. She is a Catholic. One of the reasons I love where I live, is that I meet so many people from other countries and I learn so much from them.

could bring down ebay, and the selling of used books on amazon, and reselling goods on other sites.
book publishers who sell their textbooks for astronomical prices in the u.s. but much cheaper in other countries are suing entrepreneurs who import the cheaper but identical books and sell them for less.. at issue is whether you own the stuff you buy.
Hortensia said:I hope I'm not boring you all with this, it's interesting to me.
Absolutly an important subject. The price of textbooks is outrageous and I believe, after we pay the purchase price for one, we should be able to do with our purchase as we want, with the exception of making other copies for sale. Students need all the breaks they can get in order to afford school. I also buy old books from independent book sellers, most in perfect condition, and would hate to lose that privilage.

"...the secret hearings took place over two weekends in the latter part of 1992 and the committee consisted of the chairman, geoff woodfield (a family friend and a generally decent man); rensford ming (a quiet guy of jamaican origin, also a decent man); and dave churchill and stan rogers, both company men who humiliated me and assassinated my character.
they both were downright rude and insulting to my wife.
all elders, with the exception of woodfield were appointed from neighboring congregations.
I was more knowledgeable than any of three elders that I met with. I had been in the borg all my life, unlike them. I even told them at one time that they needed to read their WT as they did not know what they were talking about. They did not really want to df me, they tried to give me an out but I did not take it. I guess I was just tired of the borg and I had questions. I did not really find out ttatt until I was out.

i want to drastically change my life.
i am stagnating and will eventually drive my truck into an oncoming semi truck.
short of faking my death there are only so many things i can do.
I agree with BOC. Get yourself in college. I got my EGD when I was about 45 and started college after that. My husband objected to my efforts and even tore up my text books. I persevered, was out for three years because of him. I went back at the age of 52 and now have three degrees. My income went from 17,000/yr to three figures now. Go for it. It is never too late to change the direction of your life. My two children also went back to college in their forties and now have wonderful careers, one in nursing and the other in marketing. I cringe when I think how my life would be now if I had not gone back to school. Be it community college or a university, do it. You will not regret it and your daughter will benefit from your example. I wish you the best.

not the university, mind you... just taking some classes so i can spend the last 20 years of my secular life doing something other than golf course irrigation.
a fellow at the golf course has talked me in to getting my real estate license.. .
so, off to school i go.
Irondork, congrats for returning to school. I got my ADN when I was 54, my BSN at 62, and a BA in Spanish at 64. I have been able to use all of these degrees. You have time to make your schooling worth it. You will love school and learning something different. There is nothing better for your self esteem than your accomplishments. You are still young.GO FOR IT.

found this to be a very interesting watch.. watch with an open mind if you are still religious in anyway.. .

It is quite an interesting idea.Do you think this means that humans could, at sometime, destroy the earth through a nuclear war? Does this mean that at some time our universe will, or could, collapse into a black hole? This idea makes, to me, life more fragile. I also wonder how the laws of nature can be so intelligent. I did enjoy the video and found it very informative. Thanks for posting.
dear friends,.
it has been a long time since i have posted.
time heals much pain, and finally, my family and i have been able to move on with our life outside of jw land.. many of you became our friends, our support system, and you know very well our exit story...we were labeled, slandered and disfellowshipped for having questions regarding the date 607. we sent out letters exposing the elders and circuit overseer to over 200 families.
I also just saw this. What a wonderful story. Will keep tuned for her music.
