Is their a slackening off / lack of zeal in the witnessing work that I am observing or is it just the area I`m living in
by smiddy inlast saturday i was home with my wife, having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.
i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.
we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

Grammer Fer Idiots
by Farkel inending a sentence in a proposition can get a guy slapped a who bunch of times.. conjugating stuff should only be done in a proper marriage.. a split infinity leads to babies.. gerunds are little animals certain movie stars put in places where the sun don't shine.. transitive refers to people who live under bridges.. intransitive refers to people who live in houses.. double life imprisonment is a compound sentence for really bad guys.. a compound/complex sentence is almost the same thing, but the judge was on drugs and didn't have a clue when he issued it.. parsing a sentence should only be performed by people who don't have a clue what they are doing.. an example of a propositional phrase is "hey babe!
your place or mine?".
alliteration is what happens when a whole bunch of people toss garbage out of their car windows on the highway.. punctuation is what every 14 year old boy wants to do to every 14 year old girl and every other female on the planet for that matter.. using a semi-colon in a sentence is the same thing as using a period, except it isn't.. using a colon is something best done in private.. most people, use commas, way too much, and this, should be, avoided, however.. exclamation marks should be used sparingly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I like how the British use the word "whilst" instead of "while." I just like the sound of that word.

How have you fared since leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses?
by God_Delusion inhowdy guys and gals!.
personally, my life has been fantastic.
it's like a massive weight has been lifted off of me, especially when it comes to having to go to the meetings.

My life has been great since I left the borg. I had stopped attending meetings and going in fs for a few years before I was caught up in the purg of the 80's and was df'd. It is a relief not to have to go the meeting 3 times a week, like we did back in the 80s, and not going in FS. Since leaveing the borg, I have obtained two university degrees. I have traveled to several large cities for conferences every Spring and they are fun, not like the DC. I also get to eat at some of the best restaurants once a month while attending meeting for my job. I also don't have to worry about someone getting into my personal life. I read want I want, say what I wan,t and don't have to worry about Armagaddon coming and my being destroyed at any given time. I now live my life without fear. As you said, worldy people are just like us, people trying to have as good a life as possible; some are good, some not so good, but generally just people. I always hated living in the land of the free and not being free to live my life like all the worldly people, Now I am just like them. FREE TO BE ME.

I think America is the greatest but I am afarid for our country now. I love America, but I feel that some of us have become lazy and take things for granted. I feel that we have so much that we have forgotten how we were able to obtain everything we have. I don't like war, but sometimes we have to defend the counntry from those who want to destroy/or take away our freedom. Although I also believe that at times we have gone to war when we should not have, such as when we went to war against Irag. I think we have a lot of problems that need to be fixed and if we don't fix them, we are not going to remain the greatest country. I hate it when I see that everything I buy is made in another country, like, don't Americans know how to do make anything. I have a thermos bottle that my Dad used to have. It was made in the US. It is heavy and thick. I also have a themos bottle made in China and it is not made as well as my dad's old one. I just don't understand why things are like that. I guess it has to do with money, but it is very bad for us.It reminds me of the song by Bruce Spingsteen, I think that's how you spell his name, anyway the song is 'My Hometown." I would not want to live anywhere else, but I am sure others love their country as well.

I used to tell the JWs that came to my door about my lifelong experience as a JW and engage them in debate about their beliefs. One day, about 20 years after leaving the borg, I just stopped because I no longer cared about what they believed. I still don't like the borg and I never let a chance go by to tell people I know, who are not JWs, how bad that org, is. Like EL said, it's different for everyone.

I live in a log cabin, although I have many windows, my wood walls don't reflect any light, therefore my house is dark inside. The first thing I do on awaking is open the blinds. This morning, when I opened the blinds above the sink, I spied some birds in my neighbors front yard, which is behind my cabin. I don't know what kind of birds they were, but they looked like geese; two large and two small birds. I watched them for awhile, just enjoying them. My cabin is surrounded by pine trees; there must be 50 of them. The ground is covered with pine cones and pine straw. Last week, while walking my dogs, I saw a rabbit, that had been hiding in some weeds, run across the lawn. I want to put some weed killer on the lawn, but when I see all the wildlife in my yard, I hesitate to do it. Squirrels are everywhere, jumping from tree to tree and stealing food from the bird feeders.I see cardinals, woodpeckers, and robins quite frequently, especially in the early Spring. I can't help but feel responsible for these creatures. We all share this piece of land and I don't want to do anything to harm them. I guess I feel that it was their home before it was mine. Oh, yes. I forgot the vultures, they are always around to see what's happening. Deer are also both a joy to see and a danger to watch out for while driving.

When you were active, did you feel you would survive Armageddon?
by Band on the Run ini am curious about this issue.
personally, i never felt i would be good enough for a split second.
one would think that knowing you can not be good enough to survive would it make it easier to leave the witnesses and live for the present.

I both laughed and felt sad reading all these posts. What the WTS has done, and continues, to do to children, and adult's minds/life is atrocious. They refuse to let anyone enjoy life and develop normally. They are "HELL BENT" on making your life as miserable as possible, alway keeping the threat of "death" at Armageddon before it's members.
