People leave the Org but don't drop the doctrine?

this deserved its own thread.

one thing i have observed being able to speak freely to individuals now about the wtbts is that even though they fade, they hold one to all or a portion of the doctrine.. if you examine the doctrine openly and fully you will see it has as many holes in it as the org does.

although it may appeal to you it doesn't make it sound scripturally.

For me it was initially the inconsistency in how disfellowshipping is done that made me angry enough to start questioning everything else cuz that policy never felt right to me. Then I read the entire new testament from matthew to revelation without the interpretation of the watchtower and found so many contradictions to JW doctrine. That is what really made me leave. For example, 1 Tim 2:5 says there is "one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ". How do they explain this scripture when they really teach that Jesus is the mediator only for the 144,000??? It's in a 1976 questions from readers (can't remember exact month right now) The "other sheep" get salvation through the anointed class, a completely unbiblical teaching.

i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.

i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.

maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Question to those who are still JW's.....

There are some things I did confess to the elders..and some things I didn't confess out of shame. The guilt of not telling was almost unbearable and I always thought I never had Jehovah's approval, even though I would still go to meetings and try my best to advance spiritually. But deep down inside I knew whatever I was doing would never be good enough for Jehovah cause I chose not to confess to elders everything. Sad isn't it??? The elders try and be God by judging you.

Thanks for sharing! There is really nothing that can be done if you just fade away right now. That's the best way to do it until you are ready to tell your family how you really feel. I know that is one of the hardest things to ! Pray and stay strong. :-)
