My Father's Funeral

as many of you know, my father passed away last monday.

i found out monday evening and flew into chicago wednesday morning, from columbus, ohio.

my dad's sister mary, and his best friend ed were close by and started handling all the funeral arrangements.

it seems that i'm a dangerous man.. last time we went over to vist my dad in canada, my sister rang the local congregation to warn them that i was going!.

wow ... i feel like 'the jackal' or something ... international danger man!.

what sad pathetic little lives they lead ...

you better be careful. They may try to get you to repent of your terrible deeds and leave the wicked Internet. You see, they really love you, and have your best interests at heart. They know that you were mislead, but Jehovah is a loving God and He will forgive you. Then when you have rejoined the ranks, you will "truly" be happy along with the throngs of happy witnesses worldwide.

as i was settling in, my neighbor came by to welcome me, and wondered what i had done to merit this big mansion.

I said, “I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses”. He said, “well I will be damned. I was a Catholic Priest all of my adult life, and lived strictly by moral standards as set out in the Bible. And I truly did not veer off from any of my vows.” Now how in the hell did you get this big mansion when I only inherited this tiny little house way up on the hill?
Then God intervened and said, “being that Pureheart is the only Jehovah’s Witness that made it up here, I figured she deserved the best that I could offer.

what scriptures do the jw's use to back up the practice of disfellowshiping/disassociating?

what scriptures can be used against it?

Here is some information about why JWs disfellowship people.

Discipline That Can Yield Peaceable Fruit
“No discipline seems for the present to be joyous, but grievous; yet afterward to those who have been trained by it it yields peaceable fruit, namely, righteousness.”—HEBREWS 12:11. God’s fatherly discipline, which can affect our spiritual lives, can take many forms. One is his arrangement to exclude from the Christian congregation a person who no longer wants to live by God’s standards, or who refuses to do so. A person who is thus strongly chastised or disciplined may repent and turn around. In the process, the congregation of loyal ones are also disciplined in that they learn the importance of conforming to God’s high standards.—1 Timothy 1:20.

When a man in Corinth was unrepentantly immoral, Paul told the congregation: “Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.” (1 Corinthians 5:11-13) The same was to occur with apostates, such as Hymenaeus: “As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition; knowing that such a man has been turned out of the way and is sinning.” (Titus 3:10, 11; 1 Timothy 1:19, 20) Such shunning would be appropriate, too, for anyone who rejects the congregation: “They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But they went out that it might be shown up that not all are of our sort.”—1 John 2:18, 19.

Pureheart: Hello, my name is Pureheart. I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Householder: Wait a minute. I heard that you people do not believe in Christmas, Birthdays, taking blood, that all other religions are wrong, in disfellowshipping, in not being friends socially with people that are not Jehovah’s Witnesses. Is that true?

Pureheart: Yes all of that is true. Do you have any other reservations about Jehovah’s Witnesses?

Householder: Yes. I heard that you do not vote, join the military, believe in a Faithful Slave and only follow their direction.

Pureheart: Yes all of that is true. Anything else?

Householder: Did Russell and Rutherford start the Jehovah’s Witnesses and most of the writings that they published were put out of circulation by the newer members, after their deaths?

Pureheart: Yes. The reason why is because the newer members found out that what Russell and Rutherford was publishing was not accurate.

Householder: Well how do you know that what they are saying now is accurate?

Pureheart: I don’t. But we must trust that what they say is coming directly from Jesus Christ and follow what they say or we will be destroyed at Armageddon along with everyone else in the world that are not Jehovah’s Witnesses. I would like to return to show you just how the disfellowshipping procedure is done and how we carry out the shunning process and teach you how to recognize a faithful Jehovah’s Witness because not all Jehovah’s Witnesses will survive Armageddon either.

Householder: Are you sure that you are a Jehovah’s Witness?

Pureheart: Oh yes. What I am publishing to you is the TRUTH!

Householder: Okay. This time next week?

Pureheart: Fine. Let me get your name.

DB says, “I come here for various reasons, one of which is to read up on subject matter that is almost never discussed among active jws for fear of reprisal, or at the very least for fear of appearing "spiritually weak", or appearing to have a "bad attitude".

I agree with DB but I have to disagree with you Ashi.

Ones that post here are not loyal to the WTS. They are just like me, fed up with the hipocrisy and lack of love. I came in here to find answers to why, why, why. I needed closure to this crazy organizational control and brainwashing. Now I feel empowered. If I had not found this Forum, I would still feel lost and powerless under the mighty hand of the WT.
When I first came in I was angry with the WT and so I struck back at you guys, just like some new ones do when they first come in. You want to be loyal and your heart tugs at your conscience because you were taught those places like this is bad and can corrupt your WT training. So you have to kick somebody and it can’t be the WTS because they are not the problem,”you are”. And so you came in here to maybe find other JWs that secretly came on to the Internet to see if they had their buts kicked. Then you could cry together.
But “oh my God”, you have actually stumbled on an “Apostate Site”. So now you take all of your anger out on them. They fight back and that makes you feel righteous and strong, unlike the feelings that you are getting at your local Kingdom Hall at this time. Been there, done that.
Stick around my friend. At least you will be heard here, no matter what you say. And you don’t have to worry about being controlled. And most of all you will learn the real face behind the WTS.

Recent fav president poll; and who was yours?

a recent poll showed that abraham lincoln was america's favororite all-time president; jfk and "w" ties for 2nd and clinton got second.

now during our dub years we didn't pay that much attention (or claimed we didn't hehe)to the history of our presidents.

but i was curious as to who you guys think our best all-time president was.

have you ever been annoyed by the dubs bragging about how quickly they can build their kingdom halls (sometimes a weekend project) for so little money?

ive heard them boast that this is proof of being blessed by gods spirit.

but i wanted to float an idea out here to suggest something more constructive, both literally and figuratively.
