I think a lot of people raised in the cult resent a large part of their childhood, and also wonder how it might have been if they didn't grow up thinking the world was going to end. It horrible for a kid to carry around all those burdens.

Well done to you for supporting your wifes activities and I'm pleased she does the same for you.
If it makes you feel any better your wif probably isn't angry with you as such for not keeping the kids quiet, much more likely she is worried about what others are thinking as some in the hall rule over their kids to be good little quiet robots! Sad but true.
I don't know how old your kids are but if they are very young maybe your wife would be ok with you staying home with the kids?
thus saving her from worrying, them from boredom and everyone's happy.

When I first heard about it I was still in physically, and it shocked me.
I guess that's the crux of it, I was mentally out of it so my eyes were open.
They are all blind and the org is there guide dog.
I just found it quite disappointing that the didn't appear to even investigate it, he just assumed it had to be a hoax.

My wife brought up the UN thing to my parents, much to their horror and despite me advising her not to. And once they got over their panic that we must have been on some apostate websites, they listened to us but refused to believe it!
Just refused to even consider the idea. Not surprising at all you may say, and I agree.
However, explaining that it is even on the official UN website, they reluctantly agreed to have a look. And then when faced with something they couldn't realistically explain away, my mother reasoned that well the society must have had a very good reason to do it! That was the end of that and they did not want to investigat any further.
So, I suggested asking an elder about it, (and also to say someone on field service asked him about it) so that's what my dad did. He asked and the elder had never heard anything of the sort and said he would look into it and get back to him about it.
A few weeks passed, and nothing. I asked my dad again, and said would ask the elder if he found anything out,
And get this, the elder said 'oh yeah that, that was just a big hoax!!!!!'
WTF!?!?!
so either the elder is lying or he didn't even bother to find out in which case he's lying about that too.
Has this happened to any one else?
And why does nobody have any clue about It? Normally everything spreads like wild fire but this no one has ever heard of.
Needless to say my folks believed the elder and that was the end of that!
for those of you who had a moment like that from the matrix when you realised what you'd believed was fundamentally flawed or a lie - what caused that defining moment and how long was it before you could share your thoughts?.

I had all those niggling thoughts in the back of my mind, but didn't think too much about.
But when I was being pressured to go out in service more even tho I didn't really have the time, and then a while after i had upped my hours, I was pressured again to go out and do even more hours, I started to think why should I?
I did what they want and yet they are still not happy.
My thought process had changed. Then when I realised that the elders were just men and were in no way affiliated with any holy spirit, the flood gates opened.
And suddenly, I woke up.
personally, i never went to the elders with anything(not voluntarily, anyway).
but a friend of mine once asked a couple of elders whether it would be acceptable for him and his wife to make a sex tape, for their own personal viewing.
needless to say, the idea was frowned upon..
Guy in my hall, MS he was too, early 30s and married, chronic masturbator.
His wife knew about it, and he kept on going back to the elders for help.
