Orthodox Rabbi wraps himself in Plastic Bad to fly over cemetary
by designs inwhen i read this story from a few news sources i thought it was a joke.
maybe someone can post the pic of this rabbi on a plane wrapped head to toe in a plastic bag.
the purpose i still don't quite get- you cannot fly over a cemetary if you are a holy priest?

Memorial Hell
by thecrushed intoday has been one of the most aganizing days since i woke up.
my family has been pressuring me to show up at the memorial for the past week.
it became very intense today with my dad texting me constantly to get me to confirm and when i didn't answer he would call my wife and then she would constantly nag me to answer my dad and so on and so forth.

I know the feeling all to well crushed.
Ive been getting the same phone calls, the same reminders, aka guilt trips.
Dad even popped into my wife's work last week just to pass on the message.
Stomachs been in knots all day too! Thought we were in the clear since hadn't heard from anyone today.
Then the home phone and mobile went at 11:30 at night wtf!
never answered tho

Memorial trauma-morial!
by Julia Orwell inhaven't been to the kh in a couple of weeks but went to the memorial along with hubby because i'm still in the early stages of my fade.. the speaker gave a really nice talk which was divided into 4 parts: why we need ransom, how it benefits us, who should partake and how to keep benefiting.
i was ok with the first 2 parts cuz he backed up with scriptures.
then the part about who should partake departed from scripture and went into this convoluted thing about how although jesus died for us, we're not to partake because jesus didn't make a covenant with us so we don't partake.

Sorry it upset you
But since the emblems are symbolic, the watchtowers emblems don't mean anything if you don't believe they are observing Passover correctly.
Have some wine and flatbread at home afterwards.
Hubby needn't know the reason why, you might jus need a drink and are feeling snack ish.

Circuit Oversears treated like gods...did this happen in your Hall!!!
by Witness 007 inbrothers would full on laugh at the c.o's lame jokes.
fight over who gets him for dinner where no expense would be speared..."oh they dont eat flour, sugars or milk products...".

This used to always bug me, I could never understand why everyone got so excited about the C.O visit.
Everyone wore their best suits, went out in FS more that week, got all giddy at the "encouragement"
even as a kid I used to think he's just a human guy, what is the big deal?
and it made the book study meeting an hour longer. Oh so wonderful. Not.

" Love the way they didn't actually talk to you, but went through your dad. Are they men or mice? "
Lol I know and the funny thing is he did have my number as I did some work for him a couple years ago, unless he lost it? I don't know.

Just thought I'd share,
I got a phone call from my dad and he tells me an elder acquaintance of his called him up. My pulse quickens somewhat,
this elder is from the congregation that would be the one I go to if I still went to meetings.
Anyway me and mrs Inisc have only been to one meeting there 3years ago and have missed the last 2 memorials.
And the elder said to my dad to ask me if I want seats saved and do I want him to wait outside the hall to greet us as we come in if that makes us more comfortable. Wasn't too sure how to answer that but I said that was kind of him to think of us.
Yikes, I guess that is sort of nice I think but I can't help but feel a bit uncomfortable and umm stalked....
Just when you start thinking your almost out of the woods............ not so much.

Books that make you go hmm....
by jgnat init's occurred to me that i have been reshaped by the books i have read, taking my new knowledge for granted, and forgetting that those around me have not been on the same journey.
as a consequence sparks fly, as iron sharpening iron, as we strive to understand each other (or to insist that we are not the same).
there are a few books that stand out, as i refer to them over and over again.

Predictably irrational by Dan Ariely
its a fascinating insight into the way we think and why and what shapes our psyche.
Really helped me to start actually thinking and using my mind after leaving the org.

I got asked if there's a chance she could be pregnant.
I didn't entirely understand why they thought that was relevant in determining guilt or repentance.
Also was asked if I stayed the night or went home.
I was honestley expecting them to next ask me if we spooned afterwards.
So glad I'll never have to go thru that farce again.
