Actually that was really funny story! You kept your head down in your soup good move! I use to get really embarrassed when JWs prayed in resturants.
I am from a big family and we went out to all you can eat places. Many Jws friends of my brothers would meet us out! No prayers but lots if eating contest! Boys will be boys!

Design, Were you one of the brave Jw boys that were sent into a camp! I must read some of your post! Some times I feel just like you! Older people using younger ones! It takes a certain age to realize how not to fall for that one!
I think every one should get pats on the back! Your right acknowledgement and pats on the back makes everyone a winner and it just helps. A very good reminder, thanks. Your right about religion but some people manage better at their churches and have healthy lives. The teenagers some bond for life. They have activities all the way up to youth. It is hard for some exjws because we have been burned! A few times visiting churches it made me very much aware of what I never had as a JW.
OneEyeJoe, Boy! they sure did use every angle! Lack of JW girls! Well how many fine ladies that were not jws! It was the same with me at age 17! lack of JW boys! I barely dated! Oh yeah one needs to be evenly yoked! Lol. Father sure did use guilt trip!
Legacy An automatic pass at that! Do they even have to stand before the judgement day or are they too busy witnessing to the resurrected. Badge of honor being in Jehovah's organization! Have you ever asked any JWs," Why dont you question the Truth?" I might borrow this one! They will probably state that they did! Some probably will say that every WT study they questioned the truth during the answers and questions. I have pointed to errors then they say they need to ponder over it! Here is my favorite, I was not given decernment yet they could not understand the sentence. LOL.
Darth Frosty What! How easy was that. Asphinctersays? You got me!
Villagegirl - Although young I actual did not know much about other religions and really thought other religions were part of Babylon the Great. However,I got baptized for the wrong reason. You did hit a nerve because I thought I was protected and the JWs were a safe place! Without Jehovah I woukd no longer be protected. That concept took years to get over.
The question would be for a practising JW: "Why did you get baptized?" I really doubt many would say to follow Jesus Christ or that he has WORDS if eternal life. No doubt they might say," My baptism symbolizes my dedication to Jehovah as his son did."
As a reply what scriptures would you use to prove one should dedicate their lives to Jesus through baptism? I think that is a tough one!
Acts was a good one!

Going to family outing with a bad JW
by TTWSYF ini'm not a jw nor is my entire family save for my brother, his wife and kids.
we are celebrating our grandparents 50th anniversary.. one of my brother's kids is living with his girlfriend and as a result, the rest of his immediate {jw} family is shunning him.. what, if anything do you think that i could do or say to get his (jw) family to see how awful their behavior is?.
i am asking for suggestions to get these people to think.. .

Hmmm, here what I noticed. Some JWs are so stricted and harsh until they personally do something wrong!
Judgemental and abide by the rules then give it up because they broke a golden rule. Most the time it is adultery, hidden pronography,or wife leaves them.
Take care.

Blood, Fractions Policy and Milk Products compared
by Not Feeling It inthis is my first post on the new site so here goes.... .
i was reading the post a while back from "v" on blood policy and fractions where it was compared to a ham sandwich.
this was a good illustration, but i thought it lacking a bit in that the components exist on their own as food items rather than derivatives.

DD another 16 year old. Right thing to do. Yeah that was a lot of pressure on a 16 year old. Everything was wrapped around it including marriage vows! You feeling better today! Lol.
Hey NewYork, I hear you because I never did any prayers to dedicate my life either! Nice age 57 :-) I think there were a bunch of clues!
Nervous and not really wanting to do it was mine! I did not stand up with the very large group. Goodnss there is no way I feel responsible for waking up JWs especially relatives that are still in. Life is too short and at my age it is going by faster.
Sad that most of us were just teenagers probably wanting to please others!

Hi Legacy, LOL many would stay because it is a good life for them.I bet you would get," Yes I would because I know it is the truth, and I am just waiting for Jehovah to clear up the matter and paradise earth."I think it would go over some if their heads. Good old timers would growl at you with flaming nostrils.
SOP Would you really say something like that! No reason to insult folks. :-) Coming from someone who drove by them on Saturdays and flipped them off. Lol. It sounds so angry.
Design I see your point but they would still want to answer why they got baptized.
3thrd I liked how Legacy stated the GB.Oh your so right the JW would just say they are imperfect and adjusted their teaching unlike other religions. Walls would go up.
Jws are on the defensive all the time but they also think they need to teach.

Design that age way too young! I was 17. No reason to ask Catholics why they were baptized because it strickly dealing with Jehovahs Witnesses. But I see what you mean because JW like to answer question with question regarding "Christendom" doctrines. They love to compare instead of answering the question. Good at pointing out other religion doctrines instead of their own.
Punkonice they can count time for any reason, let them start counting. But they do get annoyed when I tell them they can not count time with me because I am baptized. A few already tried that one.
As far as time, I find it strange how Jehovah's Witnesses neglect to realize the time after Jesus changed Christians dedication to follow Jesus and proudly boast him as the Messiah.
Baptism for Christian should symbolize following Jesus Christ and beliving he was the Messiah the son of God. Yet with the JWs it is backwards.
