How Did "Shepherding Calls" Go For You?
by minimus indid you loath them?
did you feel it was a "privilege" to have the elders care deeply about your spiritual well being?
if you were an elder or ministerial servant, did you enjoy going to the homes of the sheep?.

If the new Governing body Saunderson was baptised in 1975 - you could be anointed too
by bruh2012 insomeone mention on another thread about the newest- youngest governing body member- if he is anointed being baptised around 1975 why wouldnt anyone else baptised around that time be anointed too!.
right ???
or since the call to be anointed ended in 1935 teaching became no more with new light - is it random choosing now??

Village girl good point!
Here was my thought! And I personal think these scripture place more meaning for the Last Supper symbolic representation. Jesus says WHOEVER not just some! There is no class system. John 6
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 38 ForI have come down from heaven, not to do my own will butthe will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
41 So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and motherwe know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43 Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.45 It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— 46 not that anyone has seen the Father excepthe who is from God; he has seen the Father. 47 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will givefor the life of the world is my flesh.”
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh ofthe Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread[ c ] the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 Jesus[ d ] said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.

Yes many who already knew the king were invited. However, the ones who came to the wedding were not of the kings list, invitation!
The many who were orginally invited were not interested!
Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ 10 So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Both bad and good!
The arrangement was done! but they rejected the Kings invitation!
Watcher assumed it Adult Jehovahs Witness yet how could strangers on the highway be from the same sect!
For there are many invited, but few chosen." And that few were good and bad as guest the choosen.
Watcher you can assume what you want when it comes to this parable.
Partaking has nothing to do with this parable! So your entire concept is really under WT influences and not Jesus Christ.
" The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come."
Watcher good try!
Partaking was offered to the multitude a mixed crowd with everlasting life. :-)

Partake are not to partake?
Why not research your bible and see what Jesus said.
I believed the WT 144,000 class only until I was about 35! 144,000 class or the one guy you mentioned.
It is the same thing just fewer partakers.
I believe Jesus opened partaking up to a mixed multitude who represented everyone. Jewish rejected him and everyone left. But does that mean we as Christians should reject Jesus?
Maybe you should start with reading Jesus sayings telling everyone to partake five times!
The WT is like Satan who wants people to believe only the opposite of Jesus words.
Did Jesus ever say" You do not need to partake to gain eternal life?" Only Satan would convince Christians to not partake.
The new GB arrangements and the WT are just non Christian because the point you are making! I guess you thought something out, good for you.
But honestly it just crazy cult thinking one must go through to wake up.
Did Jesus tell people to not partake?

According to the WTBTS, paradise can mean an earthly paradise as well as heavenly,
Data that is interesting because the 60s and 70s JWs never heard WT describe a heavenly paradise. That would go against, Truly today you will be in paradise.
Paradise was always earthly.
The way WT explains things away: It therefore appears that the reference to “the third heaven” indicates the superlative degree of the rapture in which this vision was seen. Note the way words and expressions are repeated three times at Isaiah 6:3; Ezekiel 21:27; John 21:15-17; Revelation 4:8, evidently for the purpose of expressing an intensification of the quality or idea.
LOL,now that explains it! Lol! I guess that is a nice way of saying WT does not believe in third heavens, basically the guy was too high!

Religion vs the gospel
by Fernando inour family's journey out of the watchtower has led us to see the gospel as the antithesis or exact opposite of religion.. for us religion is men telling us what to believe and do (to control us).. for us the gospel is god telling us what he has done (to liberate us from such men).. how have you come to see the relationship between religion and the gospel?.

The Almighty Father has clearly expressed his plans for us through out the entire bible. From 12 tribes of Israel to Christianity. The gospel accounts are evidence of Jesus Christ sayings and miracles. Religion - Christanity was born out of ones following Jesus Christ sayings and salvation and believing in him.
Although, I do not worship weekly in a Christian sect what I noticed: most people go to be around others who believe in the salvation of Jesus Christ. They gather themselves together. They pray for others, and they donate their money: to feed the poor, help the widows, and fatherless. They sing songs and raise their voices for God to hear. There are more to churches then controlling men through doctrines. The doctrines are rules to follow and are short. Mainly to love one another.
Now cult churches like JW are not praying for others unless it is just the cult. They are not donating money: to feed the poor, helping the widows, and fatherless. Cults are too busy spreading propaganda and have too many rules. They are trying to control mens minds with propaganda.
I do not see too many churches with weekly magazines that one must obey!

Ensure that you dont appear to be Negative , Unhappy or Bitter
by stuckinarut2 injust a quick thought.... we know that the org loves to paint all those who fade or leave as "negative, bitter and unhappy"...because of course "the truth is the happiest way to live".
so, never allow ourselves to be that way when talking with witnesses, or family members still in.. show them that we are happy, our lives are fulfilled and positive.. then they have no ammunition.
also, it helps other doubters to see that there is life in the world beyond the org..

I do not see any JWs! If I do I will just walk by them. It is not negative or happy it just is! No one cares after years of not going.
As God said,"I am who I am."

Remembering Stealth453
by Bumble Bee ini'm not sure if there is anyone here anymore that remembers stealth, but if there is i just wanted to pass on the news that he passed away from a heart attack almost 2 years ago now.. i just found out myself today.
he had moved overseas and we lost contact.
he was in an area that he didn't always have reliable internet connections, so it wasn't uncommon for me to not hear from him for long stretches.

I'm afraid I'd be single for life
by ohnightdivine inthis is quite embarrassing for me to share, but as a 30+ year old single female i have lingering doubts as to whether i can still meet a decent man and get married.. you all know how difficult it is for sisters to find an appropriate partner in the congregation.. and now, all the more so that i've learned ttatt.
i still am bound by low self-esteem, and i do have trust issues, especially with men.
i am very lonely and so i just keep myself busy with work to avoid depression (although it is also a great source of stress).. any other single females out there having similar thoughts?.

I think you will have days like this.
Honestly,I would rather get hit by a train then get married!
Years ago in my early forties, after getting reinstated the JWs placed me with a few single ladies at the hall. A whole freakin role! They never talked with me or did anything with me. Just watched me! Marked!
Good God Almighty! I had years of enjoying the company of friendship with men all went away! I was left with a seat with a bunch of ladies who did not get asked to date. No men approached them! They had few male friends which were not marriage material.
Out side the JWs, I dated all the time so it was a shock. I suppose it was another reason to get out! Congratulations.
Guys have certain clues they look for in single women. Getting on dating sites help. Anyhow you need to start flirting every place you go just to practice.
Honestly it is a lot of fun flirting when I am in the mood but getting married,no way.

Remember the YHWH Letters/Buttons/Pins?
by snowbird inthey were written in hebrew script and were popular during the early 70's, when i came into the jw's.. as i recall, there was a qfr concerning them.. anyone else remember?.

Yes,the long drive to assemblies helped identify each other. We used to wave to other car load. If someone had car problems another JW would help. The good old days.
Not around for the pins, but I am sure last year they wore something similar displaying Kingdom Assembly.
