Any Educated Guesses...........??
by sparky1 ina friend of mine is trying the 'slow fade' like i did.
he is a third generation witness and comes from a prominent family in his circuit.
his uncle stepped down as an elder because he had doubts and could not serve anymore (although for now he remains a witness in good standing).

My family moved here in 68 and although kh were built and meeting split up, I and one other person who was in her 80s were the only original! Now,I doubt they were all going to different halls! There was about 60 in the close to town hall. Second KH in town. I was shocked.
Anthony Morris must be the one with the most power. He sounds like he just does not care about seniors!

Brother in law thinks I am a pagan Worshipper
by Yondaime inlast month i decided to attend the international convention at metlife since my sister's cong was invited so she took me along with my older brother.
my sister drove and my older brother sat in the front seat of her suv.
i was in the back seat with the greatest watchtower apologist/loser/eldermole in the universe my bil.. they were all chatting away about how this assembly filed with regurgitated spiritual stool was a sign of the last days since so many people would be in attendance.

And that at the very end of my jc the elders finally admit that society doesn't have all the answers and that our magazines are "magazines of half truths"."
I was in mamy JC meetings and most the elders lied! A couple went a long with overseer lying! Makes them deceptive!
Get caught in a lie and just laugh your way out of it. Lying is serious, and that is what psychopathic do best! That overseer has serious mental illness to chuckle his way out of a lie! Framing someone for something they did not do is crazy! Not all psychopathic are killers and do physical harm the majority are just walking around waiting for a victim.
Good book is to read Snakes In Suites! He had some sort of motive for the orginal lie! Something perhaps not about you! Maybe looking good for the other elders. Maybe he has been asked to step down. It really not about you, your just the pawn.
At any rate, your experience is not unique but it takes a good recorded conversation to prove their lies!
One of these days there will be a class action against elders! The emotional harm and duress they cause you and a couple of others that all it takes!
Do you know of anyone else who was falsely accused? How many were dfd wrongfully because this overseer?
Perhaps you need a lawyer and see if there are any others like you. You might be the person who breaks elders! Think outside your emotional attachment.

I just laughed at everyone's replies! The following quote is just crazy Bethel writing!
First they stated: " We now encourage you to take positive steps to 'return to the shepherd and overseer of your soul,'by regularly attending the meetings of the local congregation.--Hebrews 10:24,25; 1Peter2:24."
Which means: Shut up,stop bothering us, take it up with the elders,and get your physical ass back to the meetings. As Out Law mentioned! And here are few scriptures to manipulating your emotions and get YOU to believe it is by love and good deeds!
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. They know you will read: 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, "
We assure you of our concern for your spiritual well-being."
Which means: We,bethel, dicks, have control of YOUR life prior to Armageddon, because the Day is approaching! :-)
MY THOUGHTS: no one cares about anothers "spirtual"well being! Is there such a thing!
This scripture throws the entire letter off!
1Peter2:24 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” What the heck! Now, this scripture does not fit anything.
In fact their above paragraph "shepherd" sounds like elders and overseers!! Once again they tried taking the place of Jesus yet pretend to believe Jesus bore Your sins! Who ever wrote this letter contradicts himself! Otherwise he is saying who cares what the elders said because Jesus bore your sins. If you believe Jesus is the shepherd of your soul there would be no reason to go to elders meetings for counsel. But if you do not believe that Jesus is the shepherd of your soul than you need to go to overseers of your soul,meetings. They did not write this scripture for nothing!
One more kast thought:

It would appear that bethel is not going to take up legal action considering you confirmed you have such taped conversation. I would put the recording on YouTube for all to here and post the letters!

What my mother should have done.
by LovelyEunie inthis is somewhat of a rant but every time i think of it it just pisses me off.. .
i never understood why my mom would never switch to another hall or whatever when she knew how i was treated by the people who were supposedly the 'best' association around.
my older sister also, because neither of us really had any jw friends because for whatever reason i guess we were pegged as the baddies because our dad wasn't witness (still isn't) and my mother stayed sick a lot so she wasn't able to do half of whatever was required.. .

Most JW mothers hide behind the WT! It is not a way of life, it is a way to COP out of life and society. School activities and sports or whatever!
I always thought it was strange how they preached about a new world order and a happy family life that would never happened.
Yet most of us children were miserable and unhappy. The need to socialize was completely taken away. Phone or socialize with school mates, wow how dare we want normal. I compared my mother with the mother from movie "Carrie."
Did any of the JWs girls ever get together in groups! Not much and when they did someone would do something and it was done away with. Well kids screw up that is life unless your a JW. Mainly it was mothers who blew things up to something more. Basically it was for their own power and lack of attention.
We were suppose to be the perfect children to set examples for the world or others.
I think we could write a book,
How to raise your children to never have a Happy Family Life! Just tell them how everyone is imperfect and the future will be a paradise.
Meanwhile, the majority of those evil wordly people are having a now paradise life and training their children the importance college life.
By the time JWs leave the Borg they are starved for attention. It was like the borg made it impossible for us to leave and find normal lives. Most of us probably went out party hardy.
I guess we were lead to believe the future was going to be a paradise.
How can you have a paradise if Nothing is planned! How can you have a Happy family life if it was Never taught! Always future or after one is dead!
Who wants to plan their lives after they are dead!
Oh that is right we were to be perfect JW examples of how not disobeying God! :-)

What would you do if JW's lifted the shunning policy?

what if the gb decided that "new light" revealed to them that disfellowshipping was wrong and they would do away with it for current dfd members as well...... .......16 years of my life.
would i welcome my family back?

It would not make me want to be a JW,however I think it would be great if people stopped the hate.
Individuals have more power by saying No to shunning. Stand up for your JWs rights and say no to shunning.
Millie210 You set a very good example of not giving your power away! Great Job!
My brother who attends has mental illness and I would not want to develop family ties with him.
But I sure do think many family members are making choices and shunning just an excuse to not associate.

Food For Thought
by Yondaime inandre gide its is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not.. the words of wisdom from the deceased french author echo through my mind every day, and they make me think, would the people in my congregation give me their unconditional love if i was not doing well in the congregation spiritually?.
spiritually as in giving well in the congregation, making nice comments, doing parts in the service meeting, reading during the book study on stage, working at the literature counter, and recently becoming a servant.. of the 20 or so young ones in the hall only me and 4 others are progressing spiritually.
ive seen the way brothers and sisters have treated those in the hall that arent progressing and dont take the truth seriously.

Wow that example is a bummer! Yes the JWs treat each other like crap! They are suppose be loving toward each other but I recall them marking young adults for wearing hair or clothes different!
By the way how are you now do you still want to hit something? Hope you can seek help. I know WT does not like people to get help from the world.
I think going in for therapy will give you someone to talk things out. Breaking a window is a cry for help so please get some help. This board can only help you understand cult mind but you need professional hands on help.
