Luke 12:45 - Does that mean the F&D can go "bad"?
by thedepressedsoul inthe more i read the gospels the more i get the feeling that jesus warns about organized religion or those that overbear on your faith telling you completely how to worship god.
let's say luke chapter 12 is talking about the f&s.
does vs 45 on mean that the f&s can turn bad so to speak?

"Suppose" the "faithful servant or slave" does not preach Christ delay or gets drunk and parties. He beats his fellow servants with emotional black mail. Would the ending change. No
You can read that chapter many ways! The master could be YHWH and Jesus could be the servant. In my view point, the conversation is to prove that only Jesus was handed such a responsibility. Through only him holy spirit is given which is food.
Also, Jesus never answered the question. 41Peter said, "Lord, are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?" Probably neither! Peter was just as puzzled with Jesus saying as we are today.
Kind of hard to emotionally black mail people over an unanswered question and a parable at that!
Many people try to make claim to that title with poor results! Unfortunately, it has harmed many for believing them.
Anyhow there are other ways to interrupt that chapter and reading it for yourselves is better than depending on a religion. What religion would not want that power!
Haha I like what DD said.

Main reason JWs are JWs
by Batman89 inwhat is the(or what was your) main motivation for serving god as a jw(or any christian)?.
a) love for god and genuinely trying to learn more about him and bible truths?.
b) to escape punishment/death at armegddon?.

Sorry I am stuck on the serving part! What like going door to door is serving!
No reason and it was mandatory and forced. I never thought ever anything the JWs did was serving God but socializing.
I doubt any JW kid or young adult actually thinks about armeggedon or everlasting life. It is all bull. Paradise earth is just part of a doctrine.
What you call serving is a verbal contract with the JWs.
Serving that is a good one! joke. I doubt God would ever think of anything a JW does is serving him! or any church.
One must be really delusional if they think sitting in any church is part of serving God.

I see people at my church donating in the plate every week. The plate is full of twenties and hundreds. Three services a week and three different churches. About 200 in each services.
Every week the donation is mentioned in the talk! They even did it at the passover meal how respectful.
And that is not including tithing or extra guilt donations for third world. One year they bought a helicopter for a third world country it changed their style.
All religions pay for their pastors salaries. Some way over fifty thousand a year.

My wife is never going to wake up.
by marriedtoajw inwhat do you do when you believe in your heart that your spouse is never going to wake up to the tatt?
when you're sick of the cherade of pretending you can deal with the spiritual division when you dont think you can anymore.
when you're convinced that your spouse is so decieved she is lost in a desert and is fine with living by the mirage.

Good question but only you can answer that one. Go get some private therapy to help you figure it out.
At least your daughter is not screaming to get high on meth, right? Or she went to a party and she was the party.
Maybe you need to train her for college. I resent my parents for not training everyone for a higher education.
It is called screwing your children up! Your job is to make sure she is spending time with her education and that she is going to college not door to door.
Take her to the college campus to study.
Take her to pick up applications!
Let your daughter that door to door activity and going to the kingdom hall is not going to prepare her for a career. She needs to get some scholarships and mentally prepare for four years of college.
That is your reponsibilty. Also, become that head of the house to your wife. Tell her their will be some changes and door to door will be once a month. When she starts to talk all they JW talk ignore her just stay focus.
Going to the KH and door to door is a waste of time! Let your family know prorities are going to change!

"Probably You Might be Saved" - Somewhere in Zephaniah As I Recall
by Perry inthe watchtower (and old-timers in the org) love to quote old testament passages that were directed toward israel.
however, the new testament is "a better covenant based upon better promises".. in the following verses, salvation is not described as a possibility, but as a certainty, as a present possession for the original christians:.
justification is a present possession (rom.

Maybe they are too busy preaching the Kingdom is already here and God set them up as the choosen people in the court of the kingdom. Kingdom Hall. The saved. They must be clean by not practicing sins.
Also, Jesus is getting ready to stand up to bring on the wrath of God's Day,Armageddon to put in end to the "lost!"
So you are preaching the same when you stated,A person is either saved or he is lost, either entirely saved or entirely lost. I leave it in Christ hands to judge. I am a sinner and I know it whereas some want to pretend they are in the entirely saved group which no one would know that one but only the Father not even Jesus.
But it was a good point.

GB said,"Feed ME! instead of the local retired overseer or elders."
Once you realize that some of your unemployed local elders were driving newer cars, you should figure out who paid the bills monthly. It is part of the hidden retirement fund! Shhh, but do not tell the JWs. Let us all just turn our heads!

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The world has heard about Jesus Christ, the end came for Jerusalem temple and the people living sufferred persecution. Abomination was placed by the temple as prophecied by Daniel.
Jesus was speaking with some his disciples, Mathew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
JW abuse this scripture when it was for his disciples. Also, not all would be preaching yet JWs it is mandatory.
Anyhow, why would anyone need to preach door to door when now there are churches at every corner also radio, and t.v. If JW really want to fullfill this scripture none would go door to door in the USA or Europe. All these areas knows about Jesus Christ so every JW would need to move to third world countries. Basically they really do not believe this is for modern times.
