  Mulan,

  We have all the roundabouts(we call them rotaries)here in merry Massachusetts.There are 4 of them in my town alone.It drives us crazy when tourists come and don't know what to do.In the states,you are to yeild to those already on the rotary,where as in other counties,people on the rotary yeild to incoming traffic.Unfortunately for us,people often forget they are in America!

  When my sister lived in England,she had a desk job for a while.She had a long day at work,her behind was sore from sitting all day,and her fingers were cramped up from typing.She said outloud "Gosh,I have finger and fanny fatigue!" Let me just say,she got some awful strange looks from her co-workers!!

  should have known it was a corgi.My mom has 5 dogs(corgi,standard poodle,beagle,and 2 jack russells),and the corgi's breath always smells like poo,because it's his favorite snack!

  Actually,one of my dogs(a shepheard mix),used to love to eat the cat poop from the litter box.

  Dogs,such lovely creatures.Good thing they are so cute,they make up for all the crazy things they do!

  i'm not sure if i'm posting in the correct section but i had to put this somewhere just to let off some steam.. i have a beautiful little girl, she's just two and a half but she's tall, so she looks more like a four year old.

  we live in a flat and have no access to a garden, the lady who lives underneath us is a nightworker, so we have to try and keep the noise down through the day.

  which means that my poor daughter doesn't get the chance to run off steam.

  boy,reading this post made me soooo mad!

  I always hated it when people would try to tell me how to discipline my 3 boys when I used to go to meetings.How can anyone expect such a young child to be perfect?And how on earth is a 2 1/2 year old going to encourage other children to misbehave?

  You did the right thing to speak up for daughter and to not listen to their bullshit(pardon my french).Your daughter will be better off for it,let me tell you.And she won't grow up like the two little boys you mentioned....afraid to move a muscle for fear of getting in trouble.

  You keep up the good work...you are doing a great job,and you know your daughter better than any of those idiots.So hold your head high,and let your daughter be herself!

  hmmm.....at times when I was a teenager I wasone of those that lived a "double life".....then I got baptised at 15,active in the ministry(used to auxilary pioneer in summer and in months that had school vacations)....gave great talks....upstanding young individual.Married a ministerial servant at age 18(he being 11 years older),was a regular pioneer for a little while.Had kids,the oldest being known as giving wonderful talks(little mini elder)....then one day I just stopped going to meetings to the shock of the cong.Haven't been to one in 4 years.I'm not really sure what they think of me now.....I just know they feel bad for my husband having such a jezebel wife.My broher is an elder and last time I got a call from him(and I thought he was just calling to say hello.....silly me)he asked if I would like to get together with him and another elder(apparantly they were reaching out to inactive ones)to see how I was doing.I said"no thanks"and I haven't heard from him since!LOL

  hey Guest77,

  did you go to meetings when you lived in Plymouth?I was friends with some people there.When I was little,for a few years I went to the Wareham cong.Then we went to Falmouth(which is the cong I would still go to if I chose to do so).I love it when I see people on this board who are or have been from my area.

  if i recall, a wt question from readers a year or two ago suggested that voting was a ``matter of consicience.

  " i have also heard that this was pubished only ``for public consumption,"" and that the verbal ``network'' emanating from the governing body and proceeding down the pipeline via the district and circuit overseers to the locals was that they should get the word out that nothing had really changed and that voting was actionable by a judicial committee.

  so... my questions are: is this all accurate?

  well I voted Tuesday,and I didn't hide it.I even had to vote at a Catholic Parish!

  I am still "technically" a witness.I haven't been to a meeting in 4 years though.When I registered to vote during the presidential election,I rsearched what I could,and I didn't find anything that said it was a disfellowshipping offense if you voted.My husband,who is an active witness(and former elder)said he didn't think you could get disellowshipped for it.I'm sure if you could he would have told the elders on me.

  I just follow my heart in these matters.If they choose to take action against me,let them.I certainly could care less.
