Interesting comment by wife of branch committee member:
by acsot ini know this couple, and their good jw friend here at work just related it to me.
she was talking about one of the faithful old "brothers" who had recently passed away.
"sister husband's-high-up-in-the-organization mentioned that if armageddon doesn't come soon, the great crowd won't be "great" any longer, it'll be little, 'cause the older generation is all dying off.".

I feel bad for the regular folks in the congregations slugging it out day by day, week by week, with nothing to show for all their efforts, not even a real feeling of spirituality or deep religious experience .
But for ones like the branch committee member and wife, they've got lots of perks, worldwide travel, free use of friend's cars when they visit (the dub here at work is always mentioning about how her elder husband just can't say no and is always lending their car to the other couple when they're here on one of their travels), free meals, free medical care, and on and on.

I know this couple, and their good JW friend here at work just related it to me. She was talking about one of the faithful old "brothers" who had recently passed away. That's when she said:
"Sister Husband's-High-Up-In-The-Organization mentioned that if Armageddon doesn't come soon, the Great Crowd won't be "great" any longer, it'll be little, 'cause the older generation is all dying off."
I
laughed to myselfsaid: "yeah, it's taking a lot longer than everyone thought, huh?" Then my boss came out and gave me work so I couldn't say anything else. However, this is the wife of a rather prominent Branch Committee member, well known and liked by many a GB member.
Hehehe; could it be that even the die-hards are getting fed up?

If you had to cut someplace to save money, where would you cut?
by JH in.
in just one day gas went up 8.4 cents a litre here.. for our us friends, that means that gas here costs $3.98 canadian for a us gallon or $3.18 us for a us gallon.. and i paid 12$ for a six pack of budlight beer at the convenience store next door.
if your salary didn't follow the cost of living, where would you cut, to save money?.

Depends where you live. Here in the city, giving up the car would be no problem at all. I rarely use it now, but it's paid for, so I'll keep it for awhile longer. That could be more difficult where you live, JH, I don't know about public transit there.
Next easy thing would be cable TV. Barely watch it now, especially in the summer.

Notes from the Wallkill Printery Dedication - May 16, 2005
by acsot inyou will all no doubt want to upchuk your lunch be pleased to find out how jehovah has blessed the brothers and sisters at the expanded, updated printery at wallkill.
i have several pages of notes from that momentous occasion, but haven't a clue how to get them to post here.
one of the snippets that will make you want to vomit highlights mentioned how, in reference to one job out-sourced to a "worldly" company for the concrete floors, the foreman of said company told the dubs that "what he learned in his few months at watchtower was comparable to five years of college".

Surely these quotes are just made up by The Imaginary Friends Committee.
hehe, I bet you're right!
Here are some more, I'll try not to editorialize:
Jaracz' opening remarks: "We may need to quicken our pace in line with 2 Thess.3:1: 'That the word of Jehovah may keep moving speedily.' " He then describes various building projects in Brooklyn and Wallkill. "All this expansion has come about through united efforts and primarily with Jehovah's blessing."
(My boss just came in, gotta make this quick)
"Charles Feckel said that the successful printing by ones with little or no experience was evidence of the direction of Jehovah's spirit. ... Brother Barber's first assignment was loading booklets into the stitcher. His overseer said: "Hurry up and get the work done because Armageddon is coming!" Brother Barber chuckled and said that they hurried but Armageddon isn't here yet!"
An interview with R.B. came to Bethel in 1946. He was assigned as pressroom overseer in 1950, buth e left in 1954 to get married. He and his wife raised three sons, who all went to Bethel, making up for the time he had lost.
(gotta do some work, will try and type out more later)

JWs Back to No. 1 in Growth!
by Amazing1914 init is interesting to note that of the total actual growth of all churches put together in the usa, 98.8% went to the roman catholic church (852,663 rcc vs 863,448 all ).
church.
21. united church of christ.

And when we factor in those who are faking their time and therefore shouldn't be counted as JWs? Just might offset that "increase", hopefully! Besides the fact that much of their "increase" is due to the kids getting baptized way too young. Anything for numbers! -

it's it sad/funny/hysterical that the FDS equates everything to do with the WTS with the best of secular education, be it reading the Awake or watching a bunch of bethelites plastering and painting and pouring concrete -

Oh, and if you're wondering, no, I did not have the privilege of attending said dedication. These notes were provided to me by someone who actually wishes they had been there in person.

MY ADVENTURE AT THE ASSEMBLY......
by Mary into start my day with: as i was walking down the street towards hell the assembly, i went to cross halfway across the road when a cheese and cracker brother told me that i should "cross at the light so that others can see that jehovah's people are law abiding citizens.
stick my lapel badge up his ass sideways make a good impression so i waited until he was distracted by other jaywalkers and then dashed across the road complied with his suggestion.
once in the building i managed to find a seat next to a guy who looked remarkably like fat bastard was a bit on the plump side.

Then they gave the totally bizarre illustration: If there were no synogogues, mosques or churches, where would these people meet?
Apparently they'd all simultaneously stop practicing their faiths immediately all over the world because they'd be too stupid to think of meeting elsewhere. The speaker then said "Jehovah's Witnesses don't have any of the above, yet they meet on a reguylar basis." I hadbeen dozing offnot been paying close attention and I wasn't sure if I heard that right.I thought'WTF?? That's the stupidest thing I've heard so far today"I almost fell of my chair from laughing so hard when I got that part! Thanks for posting Mary, but I'm sorry you had to put yourself through this nauseating tedium.
Did you finally get your drink??
