If anything, It wasn't the documents but the Watchtower lawyers and elders provided misleading information to the victims' lawyers and the court. They were lied by the Watchtower lawyers and elders on many things.(I am speaking this from first-hand information).

Rather be in hades, you've made a very insightful point on page 2 on Watchtower's object. With solid evidence, the Watchtower couldn't deny any charges that had been made toward it and its' members. The Organization has been trying to get out of their responsible relationship to their members. This is especially the case if offender is Rank & File. That's why Candace Conti's case was detrimental to the Watchtower Organization. It sounds like Kendrick(molester of Conti) was a R & F if anything. Other words, Conti's case set the precedent that the Watchtower is responsible for the action of not only elders and servants but also Rank & File as well. Rembember what the Watchtower lawyer said on the jury verdict that the Organization can't be responsible for what Rank & File do. Well, turned out, the normal citizens don't care about the status of offender, elder or not. The people(the 12 jury) spoke clear and loud.

i just read this article in the chicago sun times.

when i started reading the parents were religious and then saw home-schooling, i had a gut feeling they were jw's.

i read on and found out i was right.

The parents accused of beating their 12-year-old daughter to death have told police they were meting out the biblical punishment of '40 lashes minus one, three times.'

You know where this come from.

2 Corinthians 11:24, 25. "By Jews I[apostle Paul] five times received forty strokes less one, three times I was beaten with rods,..."

It was, in fact, a jewish way of punishment, but biblical, toward adult accused not child. This extrem twisted viewpoint is a perfect example of minds of Jehovah's Witnesses. How far and extrem they can go. I am sure the parents did get such viewpoint on their own. This particular incident happend over 10 years ago.

Was this an isolated incident among Jehovah's Witnesses? I don't know any other case to this extend. But then, hadn't someone posted this 10 years+ ago, I would never have known this one either. I know an elder belt his 3 children. The beating finally stopped for their oldest one when he got married and left home. There are still 2 more children home. I know another family who was investigated by the Child Protective Service for beating their toddler. They didn't happend 10 years ago but has been gone on for 10+ years. I stopped associate with them for a couple years now but last I know, their physical abuse toward their children have not stopped.

Please help with letter re Child Abuse in the W.T

i have decided to write a letter to the minister of state for children and families , here in the u.k, (sarah teather m.p).

i wish to outline the ongoing problem with the jehovah's witnesses here shielding paedophiles and sending them to people's doors.. i wish the letter to be accurate 100%, to be concise and to the point, and hopefully worrying enough for the relevant government departments to take some action.. i would appreciate any suggestions as to what to include, what links to add, and how to word it.

Phizzy, I appreciate your effort to stop Child Abuse in the Watchtower Organization.

I just bump the old thread on 'JW couple beats daughter to death.'(some reason it won't let me paste the link on the board). Sadly and outrageously child sexual abuse isn't the only issue on child abuse list with this orgarnization. Senseless beating is an another serious issue that rampant in the Watchtower organization.

Oh, by the way, We have a new troll on this board. Last thing we need is another Watchtower liar.

My experience with the Bethel Legal Dept. regarding a Ministerial Servant molesting a boy

the experience that follows contains some details that some might find graphic.

so be warned.. the body of elders received word that an unmarried ministerial servant, age 20, had been seen fondling a younger male bible student, age 14. the ministerial servant himself had been studying with the boy.

the ministerial servant was a quiet, timid brother.

NC, that's exactly what they did to us. The elders(we are in a reporting state) reported it to the authority as 'a friend of the father of a child'. They didn't even reveal their cleregy status. After that they claimed in doing their part. Yes, they technically reported.

Only problem is that the authority did not take their tip. The authority dismissed such anonymouse tip with a very little infomation. After that the elders and Circuit Overseer threatened us to mark for quetioning them further. The Circuit Overseer scolded us for being questioning, " I was there when the elders reported it!" I was constantly threatened to be marked for seeking secular justice. I ended up being marked for 3 different times in 2 years.

More lawsuits need to be filed with this decision.

If you are victim and family of victim of sexual abuse, please contact these Law Firms. You will be told whether you have a case or not. You have nothing to lose but will have peace of mind knowing your options.

Do not discard any potential evidence or information you may have no matter how insignificant you think it is. The Watchtower Organization is less than honest and misleading the justice system.

knowing that the candace conti child abuse case was probably coming down the turnpike as was the 5 out of court child abuse settlements the wt society settled in san diego, california - this past april as most of you know the wt society sent a secret letter instructing all elders to essentially keep their " pie-holes " shut ( mouths for those not hip to modern lingo ) and essentially instructed them to not divulge anything to any authorities investigating crimes or other information concerning wt organization operations.. someone posted a thread on this in april, however - with all the news coming out about wt child abuse coverups, the anonymous organization investigating the wt society , i felt it important to reveal some snippets of what the wt society instructed their elders regarding legal issues.

in one section it states, " when someone seeks confidential information : you should never reveal confidential information to anyone unless theocratic procedure requires it or the branch office has instructed you to do so.

Baltar, I agree and appreciate the law of right not to be searched illegally and right to remaine silent. But did you know about 'NO- knock warrant'? I had a Bible study who was caught under this law.

I was on the phone yesterday with one of the lawyers who represented victims of recent Jehovah's Witness child molestation case. I was stunned by some of the lies he was told by the Watchtower lawyers and elders. The lawyer wasn't even aware of the fact he was lied and mislead by the Watchtower people who claim to be the God's clean Organization. He said, "I am sure they were't the only lies I was told by them"

There are some good reasons behind for the existence of 'No-knock warrant'! It' too bad the Watchtower is well protected by law as a religious group. Especially since Waco tragedy in 1993, the Government has been extremly caustious in ther dealings with religious groups. A a lot less threatening citizen, like my female bible study, can be scrutinized without warrant nor knocking by the law enforcement, and yet a parasite of human society like abusive Watchtower is given all kinds of rights and protection.(the law proved to be beneficial in the case of my bible study so I am not saying the No-knock warrant was ineffective. My only resentment is Watchtower has not allowed themselves to be benefited by it. Remember what the Society always saying? The discipline is to save your soul. DF is the loving arrangement from Jehovah, blah blah blah..)

1 how long does the society keep records of publishers diciplinery actions at cong level and at the branch ?.

2 how would you respond to the society's claim that they are not responsible for the criminal actions of the rank and file?.

Balaam, Was Kendrick a ministerial servant at the time of moleting Candace or was he appointed later?

The Watchtower has been arguing in court of their nonliablility over their Rank & File's crimianl acts including child molesters. If JW molesters are in the clegy position such as elder, MS, overseer, pioneer(church appointed its status), the watchtower has less ground to argue their nonliablity over them.

The Watchtower usually have settled the case under such situations. WAIT! I wonder that's the reason why the Watchtower took chance on Candace Conti's case!! Kendrick may have not been MS at the time. Wasn't that what the Watchtower attorney argued at the trial and to news reporters that they can't be resoponsible for what Rank & File did(do)??? Wow!!(those guys tried, didn't they?)

I am convinced that is the very reason for the recent changing of Watchtower policy of granting over to local elders to appoint pioneers without society's approval. (See, who's resonsible for the actions of pioneers now? It is non other than local elders not the Watchtower Organization. Wow!)
