What's so mysterious about "generation" (genea) in Matthew?
by kepler inthanks to a number of notices about a website titled www.jwfacts.com, i took a quick tour and found some very informative pages and charts about the organization's positions and history.
thanks also to a number of posters for their reminders.
i can't summarize the whole site in a topic, but it did include a history of the interpretation of the phrase "this generation", appearing in matthew 24:34.. "truly i say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.".

Sociological Parallels Exhibited among Primitive Tribesmen: String Theorists?
by kepler inphysicist lee smolins 2006 book the trouble with physics is ostensibly about physics; in particular, the quagmire that string theory has turned into: a leviathan that has the majority of the worlds advanced theoretical physicists engaged in pursuit of a theory or system of theories that is yet to be validated by experiment.
it also encounters difficulties predicting much of anything, including the very basic features of the universe we live in.. .
i had heard of the book and had seen reviews before i picked it up at discount bookstore.

The Arab Spring and Geography Lessons with Yearbook 2011
by kepler inas an outsider doing research of a sort, my readings of yearbooks has not been extensive.
but i studied 1928 and 1934 very carefully - and then picked up the yearbook for 2011 on line.
the first two told me a lot of things about the organization's early days, the thinking of its leader, how books, pamphlets and bibles were produced and distributed - and a lot about a very simple dualistic faith in the near term, terrifying end.. then i encountered the 2011 yearbook which seemed like a collection of anecdotes about mission work in remote parts of the world.

If Dan Chapter I is historical, Daniel was a high officer of Nebuchadnezzar before the Jerusalem's fall, not simply as a result
by kepler inif the first chapters of daniel are historical, then daniel became and reigned as babylons governor before and during the desolation of of judah or judea.
if that is the case, then we can go back to looking at him as another of those pamphlet illustration figures, right?
bearded, cone-capped, staring out at us with blazing eyes holding a writing instruments and scrolls, prophecies written in concert about an understood over-riding plan.... .

1954 Fred Franz court statement:"God does not deal in Temples made with hands."
by kepler inwriting on a topic and writing an essay: are they the same thing?
i suspect that ranging too wide on a topic is an error to avoid in this medium.. earlier, while examining issues drawing from genesis, hebrews and court testimony of frederick franz in scotland in 1954, i came across a statement that only very slowly sank in.
as background on the jehovah's witnesses for the walsh petition case for exemption from government service, it was stated in the strachan vs. walsh testimony that the line of witnesses was unbroken from the time of abel.
