Letter Read Last Night

hey bro, i just thought it may interest you to know that they read a letter last night describing how they need to build a new printing facility up at patterson that will be the size of two assembly halls.

they will be getting all new printing machines to be shipped from all over the world, and they will need many volunteers for the project to be completed by january 2004. and we should all realize that this is going to be at a tremendous cost, the buildings alone should cost about 60,000,000 dollars.

please start praying about what we can do, yada, yada, yada.

Does WTS pay property taxes in Brooklyn? They'd have to be astronomically high. On the other hand, they have prime real-estate there. If they totally vacated brooklyn and sold their properties, they'd make more then enough money to pay for new facilties in Patterson.

They pay 0 taxes. The City of NY would probably get out of its current fiscal nightmare if the WTS packed up and sold the buildings... the tax revenue alone might reopen some firehouses closed recently.

They would get a mind-boggling fortune if they sell. They would have enough money after selling their PRIMO Brooklyn waterfront properties to ~~hire lots more lawyers to protect pedohpiles~~ expand the World Wide Work(TM).

LEAVE!! Good riddance. PLEASE sell the buildings to tax-paying companies.

Just victims of media ?

i was reading an article (from another thread) on the adventist history of jwism, and pondered these couple of sentences.

Absolutely... my grandma was dirt poor but when she "joined" she felt part of something important. Not much has changed.

i was raised non-religious.

i don't call myself an atheist as such because i don't like to label anyone, but i don't actually believe in god (though i am christian in background, and several branches of family family are roman catholic).

my fiance knows this.

update on jw grand parents trying to steal my babies

well today was a very trying day in court.

megans parents have completely snowballed the guardian ad lietem.

he did state however that he had not had the opportunity to talk to all parties involved and that his descision to recomend megans parents could be changed by the testimony over the next couple of days.

Of course the parent's snowballed the guardian. They are masters of ~~lying~~ Theocratic Warfare. They will do anything to get custody, keep that in mind. ANYthing.

Tell your lawyer to play up the shunning thing... if your kids decide to "leave" the JWs eventually, they will be shunned... play off the shunning testimony already given... what kind of environment is that to leave them in, if they leave the religion they were raised in they will wind up shunned by their grandparents who raised them, AND alienated from their blood father???

ALSO you should emphasize the blood transfusion issue... there is plenty of evidence about children ripping IV lines out and elders harassing people at the hospital... I am sure many people here can direct you to resources for that...

Your children's grandparents would let them die rather than have a transfusion.

Keep on fighting. You can win. You have to be as ~~devious~~ determined as they are.

Last night I asked about getting reinstated...

after the meeting last night italked to some of the elders in the car park, and asked what more i neede to do to get reinstated.

they commended me on the things i've been doing (?

), and said the main point for reinstating would be how much contact i've been having with my fiance, who's still a wittness.

I wouldn't lie about it, personally. To me, that means they're controlling you too, in that you are forced to lie* to avoid the repercussions that they determine upon you

This is absolutely true, however, JWs feel no compunction about ~~lying~~ theocratic warfare when necessary. If it will spare the fiance from the pain of DFing and losing her family, I think a little ~~lying~~ untheocratic warfare is justified.

when you encounter a jw who doesnt know you, do you tell them you are an ex?

or pretend otherwise?.

last night we were understaffed at work so had to call in an agency worker, i had to leave her in charge of 4 adults with autism while i did the rounds on call, every so often i called back to make sure she was coping ok. we got on well, chatted away and then at about 5am she starts witnessing to me...i end up coming home with 5 magazines..lol, she "placed" them with me.. i didnt want to tell her i was an exjw as it would have ruined the working relationship and made her feel uncomfortable.

Information intake has to be bare essential, sentences have to be structured and minimal, quoting a Scripture and trying to explain its meaning would cause an incident, we would soon know if she was trying to witness to em.

Spies?

i see alot of references on this site regarding "lurkers" and "spies".

i have been thinking a bit on this topic and came up with a question.

do you think the governments or other religious organizations plant moles or spies among the jw's?.

I don't think the Govts are that worried about Christian religions

While you are technically right, the JWs may have fooled the governments into categorizing them as Christian, in actuality the JWs are about as anti-Christian a religion as you could get!

What is wrong with my family?

i love my family.

but i've been stressed and depressed because of them.

and i just need to gain some understanding.. being raised in a jw family laid alot of pressure and guilt on me.

My family did the same thing to me (except they didn't hit me.)

When I wanted to move out as an adult my mother took to her bed crying & my father called me up and said I was as cold as ice and cared about nobody but myself. So I stayed G - U - I - L - T

When I finally left it was the best thing that had happened to me.

Get a book called "Toxic Parents". It is AWESOME and helped me a lot. I can't remember the author but if you go to Amazon.com and search for that title you will find it.

Also, to help you get past the "OMG what if they are right Armageddon is coming and I'm displeasing JHVH" phase, start reading and educating yourself about this so-called religion. Have you read "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz, a former GB member?

At www.freeminds.org there are tons of good books.... like "30 years a Watchtower Slave" among other goodies. Get your hands on a couple of those (have them sent to your significant others' house so you don't set them off again.)

You need to GET OUT as soon as possibly can.

BY THE WAY I'm from NYC, born and raised, and it's NOT filthy and disgusting (LOL) and I've never been raped!
