it was yesterday morning and hubby and i were having a huge sleep in.
it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.
hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.
I came across this christian organization the other day which does really good work called 'Feed My Starving Children'

Edited to add: On their website they have a long list of distribution partners, the majority of these also being christian organizations.
back when we were still active in the cong.
we became friends with a young couple with 2 small kids.
they were newly baptized and wanting a better future for their kids.
So..........the quesiton is: Did a loving God create such a vicious animal (rattlesnake)?

While I understand the choice of the name, I too don't think it is the right choice.
Why?
Quite simply because no active dubs will look at it because of what it's called.
For the association to be a real success, you also need inside help and you've just shut the door to all that.
How many of us still "in" will think twice before linking to or liking AAWA's facebook page? With a 'safer' name, we could happily link which in turn will invite active dubs to take a look too. Would JWFacts have helped so many if it had been called JWlies or antiWT? I really don't think so.
I understand you want to stick to what you've decided as you've already done so much to set everything up, but if that's what everyone is saying is wrong, maybe it's because we do have a valid point. And just maybe it should be taken into account. It will be well worth it later.
If it's any help, I've also known big organizations to change their name, so while yes, it's a hastle, no, it isn't too late to make a change.
Apart from that, it's a wonderful initiative and I really hope it takes off.
as part of my journey, i have realized i must heal myself.

as i sit here looking into my soul, i can say, "i am not proud of what i see.".
Unfortunately, doctors are out for me. I would have to report it to the various organizations I work for and it would be the end of me financially. I am thinking of taking a year off and getting things straight.
I don't know where you live, but normally employers have no right to know the details about your health problems. In fact the only reason they would know you're sick is if you take sick leave. If you consult a Dr outside of work hours and take medication your emploter needn't be any the wiser.
You're health, be it mental or physical is too precious to put on hold. Do you not have health coverage with your employment?

I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know how to write script and as you say permission is needed for something like that. I would never go around it otherwise. I already looked into that before I started, but as I didn't get any answer, I decided to get on and do it all manually. I've done about 2000 names so far in the last two months as and when I have some free time. Perhaps a bit later down the line when I've proved myself a bit more things may open up, we'll see, but I'd rather not push things too much for now.
In any case, I'm really glad you could help (I almost wasn't going to post anything today), I really appreciate it. If I do get to the end and the results are interesting I might even be able to make a proper JWN research study out of it.

I'm still on Section C page 1! I was up late last night finishing section B (did about 10 pages), so I guess I'm taking it a bit slow today...
it's been a while since i've posted on here, but the last time i did i was looking for young people to take part in my dissertation research.
well that was a whole year ago now and i can tell you i was very happy and relieved to have received a first class on the paper.. i've subsequently just wrote a blog post on the topic.
it's not a copy of my dissertation, but more of a musing which is very much informed by all my interviews.. anyway i hope you find it somewhat interesting:.

you know, so when the great tribulationtm comes, you will have plenty of friends'tm homes to hide in.. it was one of those things that the bros got so excited over, marveling at how clever their fellow bros are, and how special their religion is to have such a witty and fittingtm little song.. we couldn't wait for the real song to play so we could see which bros would be bold and sing the move around lyrics to it instead.
oh how hilarious that was!
I might add that growing up the Kingdom Melodies is practically the only music we had access to and so pretty much explains why that's what we were rewriting.
Oh, and I do remember the period when we were strongly encouraged to not sit in the same seats. I could never understand those who did, but towards the end I kind of did the same, but in a flexible manner.
