So, Was It Just "Luck" Or Did "Jehovah" Intervene At Times For You?

i know witnesses believe that miracles were done away with other "gifts" after the apostles died but every so often they suggest god produced a miracle.. did you believe that jehovah god saved you out of a bad situation?

did you accept that god's angel help you out?.

When in I had many things happen that convinced me that there was some kind of divine intervention going on.

As soon as I woke up, I still had amazing things fall into place, just minus the prayer. It was a big eye opener for me.

I would answer no to both your possibilities as I don't believe in luck either. More a question of hard work paying off now and previously not setting high expectations.

In any case, for the number of times a prayer has been "answered", how many times has it gone unanswered?

i know from living on a borg budget, you don't have much choice but to live economically.

recycling, while ecological, can also be a form of economy.. did the verse "god will bring to ruin those ruining the earth" play a guilt factor in your ecological habits?

i know it used to hum along in the back of my mind.. did any of your habits change when you left the borg?

That's a great find! Interesting paper or plastic doesn't show up there as food garbage does.

Anyone remember bethel tours where they would harp on about recycling stuff and installing special ink filters in their printing facilities 'way before time'?

I just found this old question from readers about why they don't print WTs on recycled paper :

Recycled paper of either suitable quality or sufficient quantity to suit our large-scale printing operation is presently unavailable. Not only did they push the anointed out of the picture during their last flash of light, now it's the great crowd too.

No grey areas, just black and white

Black = Bad = Imitation Christians

White = Good = Anointed Christians

I do hope this omission does get some of those 'great crowd' thinking.

They really aren't that bright up top.

I was viewed as a bit of an oddball while in because I was relatively ecological. Being in contact with people who worked in the field meant I read up quite a bit about the subject and tried to do my bit. I figured as a dub it was also our responsibility to do that, but my fellow dubs didn't seem to think so or do anything in that direction. I found it a bit surprising.

found myself behind a minivan full of people all dressed up for something.

they were going about 25 in a 45 zone.

i wonder if they were doing return visits or something.

Come to think of it they do drive slowly. I have to say though, the slow walking was a killer for me - you put up with it because it's either that or having to knock on more doors - but nothing is more tiring than creeping along all day. A snail moves faster.

Even better, you can use a separate facebook account to post "gems" on your support page. No one would know it was you. Wouldn't have to wait so long either...

I remember on an assembly hall build I was on cleanup duty. There were so many plastic bottles to throw out I went to the brother in charge to suggest we put them in a separate bin for recycling. Needless to say my idea was poo pooed and I had to put everything into the regular bin. At the time I was rather shocked and not at all happy about it.

Can you do me a favor?

today i added a translation feature to my blog page.

it would be very helpful if readers of various languages could take a look at this feature and let me know whether it helps or not.

what i need is some idea of how well the translator works and whether the translation renders the essence of the english.

The translation tool is pretty decent, I've used it before when looking up stuff in other languages.

My only advice to you, to minimise translation errors, would be to make sure you write articles in clear simple English, short sentences, where possible. (Not like this one ;-)

Good Signs from my wife? maybe? She wants to improve her thinking ability!

so after the memorial hell http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/249700/1/memorial-hell my wife totally missed the special talk and i only just realized from jwn that she has.

in fact last sunday i took her out to a park and we had nice time in the fresh air enjoying nature.

also she has taken up improving her congnitive skills on luminosity and today said she might actaully go and study some algebra on khan academy which i had suggested instead of spending money on luminosity.

Lost GEnwierd thing is she has a college degree already but it has been a long time for her. We are both really busy so mostly I'm thinking internet free courses and stuff. I'm the one with no degree LOL but with the critical thinking skills and Independant mind.

She is a smart person even though she doesn't think so. She has a huge self esteem issue.

While you can mention in passing the WT infallacies, I would focus on building up her self-esteem.

My first suggestion (but that has already been taken) was to offer for her to go back to school and knock off some of her dreams.

For an intelligent person stuck in the borg, that can feel amazing, and may also be liberating.

So is there something she loves that she has held off or put off until paradise because of the borg? Are there things she'd like to study more? Would she like to start her own business? Are there small things she's always wanted to try? Places she wanted to see?

You can basically open up the world to her and you will see her gain confidence. Let her rediscover her own abilities and see different doors open to her.

(You will basically be building up a new life for you both before you fully tear down the old. I believe that is a WT strategy!)
