Why do the Governing Body do it ??
by Phizzy inwhen i was an active jw the constant demands for loyalty and obedience to the gb used to really annoy me, and mrs phizzy.. why on earth do they do it in such a shrill, screaming and obvious way ?.
they sound like spoilt kids, "you must play the game our way".. it was partly that constant harping that really helped me to wake up, i came to see just how much they had usurped the place of jesus.. surely it is counter-productive to do the demands as they do, loud and blatant.
they could get the same results with a seemingly humble attitude, after all, the new pope is the vicar of christ by title, but he comes over as humble..

Nugget, I'm very sorry you had to go through all that, but thank you for sharing.
When I was growing up, autism wasn't so well known, but I remember some cases of Schizophrenia, even among JW children. I remember certain people going around saying that these ones were most probably demon possessed because the family had bought second hand objects and kept them in their house. They had the gall to even tell the families to their face that they should get rid of their stuff and the problem would go away.
I cannot see what this religion offers any child.
I totally agree. I just wish my childhood hadn't been totally sacrificed to it.

Breyers is not allowed to call it's product "ice cream" anymore by the FDA!
by EndofMysteries inmany other so called ice cream at grocery stores as well.
have you noticed how it seems to be different than from a couple years ago?
that it doesn't melt, it just warms up and becomes like a whipped cream texture?

Where do faders figure in the annual report?
by likeabird inwe all know that wt loves their numbers.
and they use their numbers to their advantage.
so in the annual report we have the average publishers and the peak publishers.. as i understand it, you have to have put in a service report to be counted.

I can also add to this idea.
When I was still in, every year the service overseer would give me my cards and ask me to check the details and sign them. Sometimes if I said I was busy or didn't have a pen he would let me take them home to bring back next meeting. Shame I wasn't awake enough at the time to keep them!
In any case, each year we had to literally sign on to the fact we were publishers. Without my annual signature, what am I now and where does that leave them? Does this count more than baptism?

So if WT is no longer counting us as dubs, after all, these are their official figures, then if they come chasing after us, then we can just turn the tables on them: Why try to push us out if they have already struck us off their numbers?
The question is not "do people still see you as a Jw?" but rather that WT has already stopped seeing us as one.

It is probably all to do with cost and shelf-life / stability. The new product is probably less sensitive to storage conditions and temperatures so reduces spoilage.
When you take a litre of wonderwhip icecream and see it weighs only a pound and compare that to half a litre of proper icecream which also weighs a pound, then you know that something is wrong.
I'm not really into paying for air, because that's what is used to "beef up" the volume.
It all comes down to cost. Icecream tends to be rather sensitive to temperatures and so storage conditions have to stay the same. The cold chain cannot be broken, especially when it contains dairy.

I've never been a fan of that light airy stuff people like to call icecream. It's about time some regulations came along.

We all know that WT loves their numbers. And they use their numbers to their advantage. At least that's what they think.
So in the annual report we have the average publishers and the peak publishers.
As I understand it, you have to have put in a service report to be counted. So if you've only handed in a report for one month in the whole service year, you will probably be figuring in the peak publisher column and not the average one.
Now what happens if, as faders, we don't hand in a report during the whole service year. Are we going to show up anywhere on that report where meeting attendance isn't even included?
Does that mean that by us not reporting for a whole service year WT has already discounted us as a JW before we have formally or officially disowned them?
What's your take on this?
