  an old friend brought the co by the house today.

  i answered the door before i knew who it was.

  it was low key and not a lot of pressure.

  We had Jamie Rundquist in the late 90s, before he had the "circuit breaker." His wife was very early 20s at the time and he was late 30s. I understand that his child had some very difficult health problems.

  Jesus 1000 years and Satan's 1000 years in the abyss

  the thread about satan in the abyss for 1000 years prompts a question.. jesus will rule for 1000 years.. jesus began ruling in 1914, which means his 1000 year reign will end in 2914.. satan will be abyssed for 1000 years.. if the end comes in 2020, satan will be abyssed in 2020, and then released in 3020.. what happens between 2914 and 3020?.

  Jesus has been reigning since his first advent (Matthew 28:18; Colossians 1:13). He reigns 'until all his enemies have been subdued' (1 Cor 15:25). It is his followers that reign with him for the 1000 years (Rev 5:9, 10; 20:1-4). The phrase, "Christ's millenial reign" is a WT created fiction.

  Logic behind shunning!

  jws shun those who disagree with them on the basis of some verses of apostles such as john and paul.

  (2 john 10; titus 3:10; 1 corinthians 5:11; 16:22).. however, jws do not realize that these writers are known for writing things that make no sense at all.

  1) john wrote: "no one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended from heaven: the son of man.

  These writers are SIMPLY INCAPABLE of getting the sense of what Jesus himself said: “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?” (Mathew 18:2)

  So what is the logic behind shunning those leaving JWs? NO LOGIC!

  This verse is especially right on the spot. In the WT, the straying sheep has to find his own way back and come crawling in the door and stay shunned until the slave drivers deem fit to accept him back (Luke 15:20).

  the lds church (mormons) have pulled 274 missionaries out of the ebola affected areas of africa and sent them to other lands.. does the wt care enough about its sales reps to do the same ?

  PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...

  ok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).

  but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.

  yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

  If Luke was the writer of Luke, Acts, and Hebrews, that makes him the writer of roughly 27% of the NT.

  Why are the wts so concerned that a meeting might be recorded?

  That way it is 3 witnesses against the word of one, and no faithful JW will listen, or be allowed to listen, to the one.

  The word of 3 against 1 + a recording of the meeting doesn't work so well. Also, recordings of JCs have a way of becoming available to others, were others find out "the Bible was not opened until after a decision was made" and "they told me that in order to have unity, witnesses could not interpret the Bible for themselves" and " they were not there to change my mind, and I wasn’t there to change theirs."

  They want everyone else to think that you were icorrigibly wicked. For what, it doesn't matter, only that you were wicked and refused to repent. That's how the gestapo, and cults, operate.

  circuit overseer worship

  for over thirty years i observed among jws the phenomenon of co worship/idolatry.

  i, myself, was somewhat guilty of it even though i rather quickly caught on and detected something wrong.. think about the week of the co visit.

  during that week most attention is given to and most thought is about the co. the supposed sovereign of the universe takes a backseat.

  It is. But I think of the CO more in terms of a Zampolit.
