by redvip2000 ini'd like to ask if you recall certain things you were forced to avoid or throw out because they were supposedly demonic, or connected with the occult, or even just plain bad.. i remember we were told to avoid the harry potter movies and books, because he is a magician.
also acdc music.. lol.. .
and oh yeah, during a talk an elder specifically mentioned the show "married with children", because it was a bad example of how a family should behave.

the wts has beat the drum of absolute authority so long and hard that the idea of free will, or even the notion of a god who might take in to consideration the wants, likes, and desires of his own people has been strangled out of the jw psychology.. .
in one of his talks, brother that's final informed the congregation that it is pointless for us to engage in speculation about how our lives will be in the new system.

Note how its Jehovah thats going to tell us what to do, even though the Bible tells us its Jesus that is completely in command untill after the 1000 years.
What he is really saying subcontiously is, "we will tell you what to do, but we will say its Jehovah so that you obey us"
Even when I was in, i was starting to get the impression that this Paradise Earth would be rather more along the lines of a Stalinist Gulag.

This "test" at the end of the 1000 years business, can somebody convince me this is what the Bible says, or is it just another Watchtower doctrine that though we claim to have left the troof, we still adhere too?
I cannot find anything that implies mankind is resurrected and trained for a 1000 years then "tested"?
What I read is that there will still be literal nations, the ones Jesus rules with a rod of iron, and that only the Annointed get resurrected at the start of the 1000 years, these certainly dont get "tested", in fact they are the target of the nations that Satan leads against Jerusalem at the end of the 1000 years.
Then comes the general resurrection, at the end of the 1000 years, and they are not "tested", but are judged according to what had previously been written about them in the book of life, thats why its called the judgement.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

To muddy the waters a bit, I belive that Death is done away with at the end of the 1000 years, during Jesus 1000 reign people will still die.
I wonder if the 100 years of Isaiah 65 v 20 are not a 100 year chance to learn good as the Witnesses teach, but the literal lifespan of people, those that are good come back in the ressurection at the end of the 1000, years, not at the beggining like the Witnesses teach, those that are bad get the second death.
for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
We also have the River of Water of Life that runs from Eziekiels temple, what would happen to people who didnt get to drink this?
What was Gods original purpose for man?, that they had to eat from the tree of life, I think for folk on the Earth, there will be the same original arrangements for getting everlasting life, as long as one sticks to those arrangements, which is not the same as immortality.
What happens after the 1000 years when detah is no more Iam unclear on.

he suggested we check it out so, of course, we did.
it looked like it had been abandoned probably 30-40 years earlier but the previous owners had left behind a small coffee table.

Sorry to dissappoint you Witness my Fury, it was nothing like a bird flying into the window, well maybe if an Albotross flew at 100 MPH, but then I would have expected the glass to break,
You are familiar with medicine balls?, imagine one being fired from a cannon and aimed at my head, there is nothing that could have made that explosive thump and not broken the old fashioned single pane glass, that wasnt supernatural.
And like I said, people came out of houses around the close to see what an earth had happened.

Back in the day when the Field Ministry was still a joy to me, It was one afternoon when I returned from a particularily good Ministry and was very full of the fruits of the Spirit, so much so in fact that I was sitting next to my front room window and praying.
Now my head was maybe 18 inches from the glass, I had no curtains, mid-prayer there was the most allmighty bang on the window right next to my head, as if somebody had fired a medicine ball from a cannon and aimed it at me.
Of course I jumped out of my skin and looked to see nothing there, I lived on the end of a culdesac so there was no traffic, nobody, just a quite and still, sunny afternoon.
I went out the front door to see what an earth could have done that, the noise was so loud that people where coming out of a couple of the neighbouring houses to see what had happened.
Didnt even break the glass.

Frustrated
by jemba insitting in the local cafe enjoying a coffee this morning when the witnessing group showed up.. before i had a chance to escape i was sharing my table with 2 'sisters'.
one was my best friend for years until i stopped going to meetings.
(such conditional friendships).. before i knew it i was being bombarded with questions like how i was going spiritually.

One of the cleaners at work is a Witness, I allways get him to promise to tell me as soon as the society say anything about the "New World Order".
Allmost every Tom Dick and Harry is aware of the Globalist push towards a One World Government, yet those who claim to be keeping on the watch seem to be totally unaware of it!
Biblical prophesy unfoldimg in front of their very eyes, yet because they claim everything happened 100 years ago, they miss whats happening now.
So you could say, "Isnt it exciting how Revelation is coming true with this "New World Order", why even the Pope is backing it", and watch their blank and uncomprehending faces.
