@diest - lmmfao! @ShirleyW - It has, but not for the reasons it should. She's a Mexican native, so when she let her Residency expire, she couldn't renew her DL. She was driving for a year with an expired license, so the state took notice and suspended her license for a year. She is STILL driving with that suspension. The other day, she came by and asked for help to update insurance on her guy friend's car. She used to live here so alot of her mail comes here. The letter from the insurance company was under the four letters from the lawyer. Only the insurance letter is gone.

The Idiocies of 1975 Still Have Hold Over a 28 Year Old
by okage inif any of us forgot just how thick the average jehovah's witness can be, here's a little story.. my friend, a 28 year old jw, got into an accident about a year ago.
she hit a horse and killed it, wrecking her car.
she told everyone she knew that it was pitch black and she couldn't see the horse until the last second.

Not kidding. The side-swipe "accident" is the fifth accident she's had since 2005.

If any of us forgot just how thick the average Jehovah's Witness can be, here's a little story.
My friend, a 28 year old JW, got into an accident about a year ago. She hit a horse and killed it, wrecking her car. She told everyone she knew that it was pitch black and she couldn't see the horse until the last second. Her JW family believes her story a hundred percent. I don't but I'm paranoid when I'm told to trust the JW Personality of any person.
I drove down the road and it's very well lit. You can see about two miles ahead, so how this horse came out of nowhere is a mystery to me. She also had a guy in her car, something she tells my wife, but not her family, and I told her brother that I'd been down that road and it wasn't pitch black. He swears it is and I told him I'd take him to show him, but he said no. I told him she told my wife she and this guy went out and were drinking, he called me a liar. The guy gives her a new car and eight days later, she side-swipes a truck. Says it was the other driver's fault. Even the brother called her out on this, saying she was probably texting at a red light and didn't pay attention to anything else and that it's not the first time she did it.
Now we're here today. The owner of the horse she killed decided he was going to press charges. Somehow, he heard she got into that second "accident" so he believes it was her fault, not the horse's. So he's suing her. His lawyer sent my friend four letters trying to get ahold of her. It's my belief he wants to get the story clear from her side to see if there is a case.
She's ignored all four letters because she "has no time" for a law suit. She told me that if she sees the lawyer, Jehovah was going to come before the trial was over anyway, so she doesn't care.
She's 28 and firmly believes that crap about the end being "imminent." It's going to cost her everything she has, since she doesn't really have anything.

Could be me, but if the Watchtower Society has countless real estate properties totalling over $1 Billion worldwide, and they take in another billion annually comprised of different currencies...if they pay no taxes and send all the money from these different countries to New York, doesn't that screw up the global economy more than any government should feel comfortable with?
I'm more science based than an economist, so this really isn't my field. Could someone explain this to me?

Are you registered to vote????
by lalaa inon monday i'm going to register to vote since i'm able to do so when i renew my drivers license.
i'm actually kind of excited since i never did register because of they way i was brought up.. how many of you are registered to vote?.

I'm a registered voter, but it's difficult. I live in a red state, so when I voted Obama in the last election, it pretty much was a waste of my vote. Texas went to McCain (damn electoral college!).
I'm not voting unless I'm in a swing state or a blue state.

1975 was approaching and for years the Society demanded the belief that God instructed these men of Bethel to declare 1975 as the date for the end. They talked about it in conventions. They supported it in many of their publications. During this campaign to get followers, money, and money followers, the Organization encouraged their people to sell their homes, quit their jobs, sell off all of their personal belongings to pick up the NWT and start door knocking for free.
And many did this. But at the end of 1975, September I recall, they started pointing fingers at the Rank and File. They started pointing fingers at the writers of the publications. Though they "failed" to tell their followers that these articles needed to be approved by the Governing Body before release, and that prior to 1971(2), the President of the Organization was the only member of the heirarchy that could pass doctrine.
The typical Witness was told to diregard the past or risk disfellowshipping. They were then told lies that this rain of 1975 propaganda the Society churned out for years never happened and the typical Witness fell in line and believed it. Trying to get a Witness to accept the fact the Society screwed over many of their own with a promise they couldn't keep has been impossible. They say it never happened and that the Governing Body would never do that. One reason being that it's against scripture to promise tomorrow. Another reason because it's a horrible thing to do to people who trust you.
But now, there is that pesky article in the June 15th, 2012 Study Edition of the Watchtower that talks about dropping the useless idea of lucrative employment and higher education to pick up pioneering for the Society for free. I know on here it's been referenced in their casual, unending bashing of higher education, but I don't know how often it's been viewed in this manner:
Exactly what they did in 1975, they are doing now. "Drop a future in this unclean world because the end of this system is imminent." Higher education and secular employment "have no lasting future" because the end is that close. Many of the Witnesses who read this June Study garbage will do what many did in 1975 (in some cases, what their parents and/or grandparents did in 1975) and in a decade, they'll deny that the Society ever made this asinine claim this year, just like they've been doing for the last 30+ years.
But we are in April of 2012. The June Study is still accessible on the site www.jw.org and this is a striking point for the debate. The Society is making the claim NOW. The documentation and the context are being provided by the Watchtower Society NOW. I took to Yahoo Answers with this premise, challenging any Jehovah's Witness to argue the validity.
The listing is here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnqCyAmoZsgRtIoLdCEcx0_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120407130232AAkVzlb (you don't have to read it. But I'd appreciate any edit points to build at it's foundation.) You'll notice I've had no takers.
They've given us the hatchet to bury in their skulls. An "apostate" arguing point that cannot be brushed off as a lie. The Watchtower has the "lie" available to the world to critique. This point cannot be brushed off as a distorted document by the "filth" of the world. The Watchtower's server makes it nearly impossible to access and alter. This is one of those few, wonderful opportunities for Satan's Army to rip the world of perception away from the mindless numbskullery produced in a Kingdom Hall.
A starting point. An ending point.
War in a bottle.
What do you think?
