has anyone visited this site and answered some or all of those questions?.

if so, what to you think?.

I feel that the homepage summary/mission statement will turn JWs off from wanting to participate at all. JWFacts is an awesome, informative site designed to draw the Blue Pills into reading the truth about the Organization.

Cedars has his articles written from a balanced perspective so that readers can arrive at the conclusions themselves. He also has the annual jw survey that lets anyone associated with the Watchtower in any degree anonymously answer questions about their beliefs without being insulted or tricked. Its one of the most honest institutions you'll find online.

I'll let him link if he wants to.

I dunno if jwexam is yours or not, but that mission statement isn't beneficial to the cause and it doesn't edify the reader. If it's not your site but you are a supporter of its place in the fight for truth, I'd suggest petitioning the author to rewrite the homepage.

If it's yours, I petition you to rewrite it. If you need assistance, there are plenty who know how to word your desires so that you can draw Witnesses into the site. Cedars, James Woods, Terry, Blondie,and JWFacts just to name a few. I'm sure they would love to help train a soldier in this fight.

what the bible "says" isn't religion or doctrine or belief.. interpretation is.. proved how?.

there is not just one christian church.. ask yourself "why?".

@stepkimb the analogy of the people in the water may hold true in other examples where perception dictates belief, but it doesn't hold to Terry's point. If the water is 60 degrees, then there is something to measure the truth against perception. In the instance of the bible, there is nothing to differentiate fact from perception or interpretation as is Terry's point.

Given the task of only being allowed to use the bible to study the bible, people come up with differing understandings. So religions use supplementals to curb those differences to their own interpretation. Otherwise, you'd be hard pressed to find a group who read ONLY the bible and came to the exact conclusions without any suggestions by an outside source.

Using your analogy, they all have different perceptions of what the water is. Lets say one of them thinks the water is too cold and goes around telling the others the water is 40 degrees. Then she tells them why she firmly believes it's that cold and gives people experience after experience why she can recognize it as being 40 degrees. Now others believe it's 40 degrees, despite their own perception.

Because of outside influences they perceive the water as being 40 degrees, even though the thermometer in the pool says 60.

This is the basics of Christianity. Except there has never been a thermometer available, only a person who tells everyone the water is too cold. The lack of a thermometer invalidates your argument and supports everyone else's who posted on this thread.

might me a fancy idea to lock out the political section of the forum. not alot of canadian or uk politics discussed and the us politics will always be a heated debate as long as there is a black guy sitting in power.

the end of the month, that is, and someone apparently needs to get their hours in.... this resourceful jw (in the left side of the photo) set up shop for a few hours outside a local starbucks, with a wt and awake laid out on a table.

and i i don't think he talked to anyone the whole time he was out there (a few hours).. sure beats all that walking from door-to-door, which would likely result in a bunch of not-at-homes on a weekday: most people are at work.. (i approached him when entering, and asked him about the parable of faithful and "discreet" slave, and asked him what he thought the difference was between a parable and prophecy.

after getting a non-answer (that basically meant he didn't know), i wished him a good morning and went on my way.... .

So why are there pedophiles roaming free in Kingdom Halls?

If an angel can intimidate a murderer (sadistic murderer was the phrase used) into not harming a couple of J Dub Door Knockers, where are these angels when a child rapist is about to harm a child in "the tuth?" Guess you have to be baptized to get an angel. Oh wait! Most ARE baptized by the time Brother Slippy Fist makes a move. Perhaps the pedophiles are braver than demons and the Big Bad Satan around angels. I wonder what they know about angels that we don't?

Many pedophiles in the Society are baptized, yet the presence of Jehovah's people does nothing to silence Satan in them. If a lone J Dub can silence Satan in a snake, why can't a congregation of Witnesses, a convention of Witnesses, silence Satan in the heart of a child rapist?

If shouting Jehovah's name can get a demon to flee, why has it not worked on the 23,000 demons calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses? You know that at least some of their victims cried out for Jehovah while being molested. So how come it works with teddy bears and YuGiOh cards, but not pedophiles?

This is serious, people. A hole in logic like this might make people think these stories (like the snake whisperer told and published as fact by the WTS) are just blatant lies used to embellish the power and authority given to the Organization by Jehovah.

And it terrifies me that it might go so far as to suggest Satan isn't talking to anyone, and that people are responsible for their own actions. Can you imagine the chaos of holding people and not invisible characters accountable for their deeds?!

this is pure speculation on my part and i hope to get some others to join in sharing their thoughts on this topic.. with the recent push by "mother" to rely heavily on their site jw.org, correspondance to elder bodies, publication downloads, library access, imagine the impact an attack to their site could produce to the organization.. here we have the gb jumping on the bandwagon, late as usual, but still trying to grasp the internet, and saying that it's "okay" to use the internet, and when you do, please go to our site.

so you have a lot of people that may have been die hard, anti-internet because it's from the devil, now saying, okay, lets get a computer, get internet service and hop online..... that's where all hell breaks loose.

they log on the great world wide web and type in the "officially backed" website.... and bam!

Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses is NOT the same as the doctrines leaving you

if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

the analogy of moving and learning spanish is powerful and accurate. there are those who still choose not to learn the language despite years of living among the new culture. and there are those who feel they have learned enough by just learning the basics.

the watchtower doctrines are blood that just wont wash off the shirt no matter how hard you scrub. i think its a tremendous effort to remove them and as illustrated its not enough to say you are done with them. many are reluctant to admit they have a ways to go but they shouldnt be reluctant. they should be proud of what they have achieved so far and be hungry to achieve more.

and it is an awful aspect that the society tells you youre never done working for salvation and when you look for salvation from watchtower tyranny you never know when youre done working for it.

the organization puts such a stranglehold on every facet of your life that its harder to operate at a capacity considered comfortable by others.

personally i hope anonymous follows through on their promise to take down the society by purging files and publishing secrets. no organization should have that much of a hold on the lives of free men and women like the society does.
