  Could this be a pandoras box if more ex-elders made these notes more public? Or would it be opening up ex-Elders for liability in disclosing this information or even incriminating them in some way?

  I'm redacting any identifying info and won't be posting any that have anything toooo bad in them. I thankfully never had to deal with a sexual abuse case, so there's none of that.

  I'm guessing anyone who has never been an elder might not know the kinda stuff that goes on in the back room. Hopefully these will give people a glimpse into that secret world.

  jp962: I wonder if I have any of my notes. I was an elder for 20 years. Most are mundane, but some might be "informative." I'll take a look.

  It's so weird for me looking back on these now. We were cleaning out a cupboard and there was the notebook, right at the bottom!

  slimboyfat: “Confirm no action but no more chances” — love it!

  "You touch that thing again and you're OFF the team!"

  slimboyfat: ”Status of schooling” — does that mean to ensure that no higher education is going on, or what?

  I can't recall what this one was about, this guy had two young kids and I think one of them might have been in trouble at school

  @slimboyfat: I don’t recall seeing elders’ agendas or notes before. This is quite informative.
  

  I have quite a few more that I will post up in due course. I scanned them all over the weekend and need to go through them with a black pen to protect the innocent. It's so weird looking back on this stuff now

  The New Diary of Winston Smith

  we had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.

  fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.

  i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

  @All or Nothing: Glad to hear that you are both out, it sure makes the post-exit life a lot easier. When the site changed from JWN to the new format, it seems to have messed up the format of the OP. Looks weird with no paragraphs!

  @Magnum: Thanks for checking it out. I had a read through the whole thread last night and I am glad I wrote it all down at the time it was happening because there is so much that I have now forgotten! I will post an update on where things are at with us in due course.

  Double Standards of the Watchtower

  are you aware of any double standards promoted by the organization of jehovah's witnesses?

  here a a few i am aware of:.

  1. the wts equated joining the ymca with apostasy but felt free to join the un for 10 years (1991-2001).

  When talking about bible studies who are facing opposition from their family for getting involved with the JWs, the July 2009 Awake on page 29 states:

  “No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.”

  They completely ignore this advice when it comes to people wishing to depart the organisation.
