OK, this is PATHETIC.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all in favour of accessibility for the visually impaired (even if he material, in this case, is tripe and garbage).
The problem I have is this: There is absolutely NO REASON for WT MP3s to be distributed on CD. The files could be available for download, via a secure process, if necessary, so that only those that "qualify" can get them.
To paraphrase Bill Gates: why ship atoms when you can download bits?
Notice how successful Apple's iTunes Music Store is?
Distributing audio on CDs perpetuates a publishing model wherein the mechanism of delivery (CDs) is more important than the content. Then again, follow the money: perhaps people are more likely to contribute when they hold a CD in there hands.
Once again, WTS clearly demonstrates by their actions that they are a (old fashioned) PUBLISHING COMPANY, first and foremost. The religion, the "message", the "brotherhood": these are just accoutrements.

Tsk tsk. That is no way for her to treat this URGENT, LIFE SAVING MESSAGE.
Of course, this woman's behaviour demonstrates that she does not believe her message is either urgent, or life saving. -

by pratt1 ini was wondering if any one else saw the city confidential eposide on saturday may 7th, that profiled a dub from boise, idaho that was killed by a russian dancer - her husband.. i didn't see the show from the beginning, but apparently the russian dancer was convicted of murdering the dub, however he still claims his innocence - his theroy is that the jehovah witnesses killed his wife because she married him.
a voilation of their laws.
he appeared to have some supporters who also believed in his innocence.. .

Is this proof of just how many apostate sites there are? I might use this next time someone goes on about how fast they are growing.......

Good point. It appears that ex-JWs are now the largest growing (ex-) religion on the planet!!!
Hey, I feel so naughty. You don't suppose that my Watch Tower Quotes site precipitated this, at least partially, do you?
Could it be that after the Watch Tower Society was unsuccessful in bullying the removal of a site and found that they have no legal remedy to stop free speech, no matter how bad their own words make them look, that they had to go to...
(from the desk of the Gov Body, which is located in the geriatric wing of Brookly Bethel)Plan B
Plan B says: tell the zombies to not use Google and other search engines. Yes, it sounds draconian, but think of it as the less dangerous version of "drink this poisoned Kool-Aid". Except this only causes free thought and free enquiry to be destroyed, which is necessary to "protect their spirituality" and more importantly, to protect our distribution channel. Think of it: anyone who follows the instructions.... WE'VE GOT 'EM!

Un-scriptural & Non-biblical JW terms
by ljwtiamb inafter a recent 'spiritual' discussion with a relative, it hit me that so much of the jw terminology is not to be found anywhere in the bible or, at best is taken totally out of context.
yet, it's by these terms & titles that jws approve and condemn each other, the entire world, and worse believe that god even cares!.
i can just imagine someone at the pearly gates, explaining to peter: 'yeah, but i was a "pioneer!".

Did U ever wonder - if the end was so close - why were we building Kh's?
by AK - Jeff ini always wondered why we were not spending the money to build halls in remote and poor areas that needed them - but instead we would build new halls and sell old ones in places where we were seeing little growth.. every congregation in this area has built a new hall in the past 20 or so years.
yet the congs are the same basic size they were before.
most have had a least one major remodel since building new.

LOL @ garyb's 40 year shingle comment!
My $.02: building a new hall causes buzz in the local congregations; sort of the same function that a field-trip serves for school kids. It's fun, and makes everyone forget how boring everything else is.
It also gives, to those not closely involved (i.e. everyone on the planet outside the local congregation doing the building) the impression of growth. I.E. when you leave the old hall, you let the neighbours know that you're moving into a much bigger, newer, more $$$ hall. So the old neighbours are impressed with your growth. You then move into a new double-hall, and the new neighbours are impressed by the massive size of the new edifice (and impressed with the 40 year Armageddon fire-and-brimstone-proof shingles). So they are impressed too.
Like shuffling papers around your desk, shuffling KH's can fool some people into thinking real work (or growth)is happening.
Also, I think the double-halls might some economies of scale which saves the WT money (or leaves the local cong with more money to send to Crooklyn). Same reason why you never see a small Wal-Mart corner store: big box economics.
One more thing: WT criticises other churches for their size and ornate look, but many of those were built once, hundreds of years ago, and maintained and improved over many, many years. But I'll bet those other religions spent much less money than WT does on its "Disposable Kingdom Hall shell game".

But watch the rumors now- You would be shocked at some of the rumors they spread about me...

Hey, what are you saying... that it is *NOT* true that you are Cocaine-using, belly-dancing practitioner of witchcraft that has a team of nubile young men in leather collars working as slaves in your underground lair, while you drink the blood of aborted babies in order to maintain your eternal youth and girlish figure????? NOT TRUE????
Darn!

Back on topic, regarding rumors. How about subtley working in your cover story while answering at Watchtower study, in order to short-circuit the rumour process?
Find an appropriate answer which could segue nicely, for example:
TheListenter, answering WT study question 9(b): "The apostles knew that blah-blah-blah and followed Jesus' example to blah-blah-blah. But it is important to remember that even the apostles were able to blah-blah-blah in cases of blah-blah blah. I CAN RELATE TO THIS PERSONALLY, SINCE BLAH-BLAH-BLAH CAUSED ME TO STEP ASIDE FROM THE PRIVLEGES OF SERVING AS AN ELDER, but just like the example by apostle-you-know-who, I take comfort knowing that Jah knows my limitation and THAT MY FRIENDS HERE IN THE CONREAGATION UNDERSTAND MY SITUATION WITH blah-blah-blah and would never spread false rumours about my reasons for stepping aside from the elder privlege."

UPDATE: I have received a reply from Pierre-Paul. He seems to be upset that I have WT quotes which clearly prove that Jerusalem did NOT fall in 607bce, but I forgot the scriptures which have mumbo jumbo, which, when filtered through WTS mumbojumbo-to-crap convertor, points to 607bce.
Any suggestions for a reply to PP?
======================
I am thankful for your reply with such patience. Since I'm french in origin (Quebec,Canada), I might not translate my thoughts adequately.I'll try to rephrase with an example. In the quotes about 607 b.c.e. http://quotes.watchtower.ca/607bce.htm you refer to the texts that make reference that there is proof that 537 bce is the pivotal year both in the religious and secular or something like that (pardon my english) history. You acnowledge it by writing it. but then you extract quotes from books and their watchtower that would prove that 607 is not the year of jerusalem's fall. but the watchtower is not using the kings' reign in proving the 607 year. it is quoting the bible and that is an example of your not quoting all the quotes. the quote of the watchtower for the 607 date is taken from 2 Chronicles 36:21. It says there:" to fulfill Jehovah's word by the mouth of Jeremiah, untill the land had paid off its sabbaths(...)." The 70 years counted from 537+2+68=607 b.c.e. It would have been nice to have seen that quote in your watchtower quotes. My quote: Aid to Bible Understanding ,page 348 : It was in October 1, 607 B.C.E. , ending in 537 B.C.E. It was in the seventh month of this latter year that the first repatriated Jews arrived back in Judah, exactly seventy years from the start of the full desolation of the land.-2 chronicles 36:21-23; Ezra 3:1.I have others in other fields but very late for me so another time. thanks again for your site and i have confidence that you will remedy the situation once youll see what i really mean. Have a nice one. Pierre-Paul
P.S. forgive errors in writing, remember i am french . and a cable guy.

Is e-watchman trying to ape JW.com
by uriah ini thought i would troll down to e-watchman and ended up at the greasy spoon 'paradise cafe' link then i was re-directed to e-jehovahs-witnesses.com.
now that he has at last got his self righteous come-uppance and been booted out of the brownies it looks like he is trying to be an alternative jw.com, but will fail just as his ramblings have failed him.

Maybe he isn't being a hypocrite?
Maybe e-Watchman is trying to make it look like a pro-JW, non-Apostate board, in order to sucker in unsuspecting JWs, so that he can then spring his own e-Watchman-branded version of Watchtowerism on them?
Either way, the Mother Organization was right: those apostates on the internet *ARE* tricky bastards! I think I will have to go back to meetings; if they are right about this, they must be right about everything!!! ;)
