House Name Required.
by Englishman ini want to give my house a name.
lot's of my neighbours have already done this, so we have a plethora of name boards springing up in my road.
(actually, i susupect it's a sort of snobbery so that people will know that it's not just another old house full of flats and bedsits but a privately owned whole house).

Do You Struggle With Depression???
by minimus ini know more persons that are depressed than i know that are not.
whether a person was a witness or not, so many are affected with depression.
i've read here that many jw's were on either regular medication or silently accepted their depression with much prayer and tears.

I just read your post before mine. You are the same age as my "little" brother and from what you said a similar story.
He was DF a numberof years ago and seems to be stuck in no mans land. The family try to encourage him to get a life, poor lad, although DF he is still a JW in his thinking. I think this is the reason he finds it hard to get a girlfriend and move out from our Mums home!
Sorry you are not near me, I would have loved to go for a Pint with you (that's not a gay thing -LOL!) it's what we do here in the UK with our mates (male friends, buddies) .

Minimus..................I have a brother that suffered from severe depression because he needed medication. But I also know of some that have said their "depression" seemed to suddenly vanish as did their taking of medication once they took control of their life.
Yup!
Ballistic.................I had a spell on anti depressants as a JW. They became obsolete after I left. Interestingly, as a witness I never admitted to it, similar to the stigma I held admitting I was a witness. Notice absolutely no stigma now. It's gone, just as the depression has
Me too!
Doctors tend to give out anti D's for a variety of reasons.................My Doctor was brilliant, I told her about the situation ie; not believing and what could be the the results if I admitted to the Elders everything.
Anti D's got me over a bad patch.......helped me to cope, I quit them as soon has I felt I did not need them!..........Should have seen the doctor first though!

Does God exist outside of Time?
by D wiltshire indoes god exist out side of our dimension of time?.
our view of time has changed over the centuries.
for the longest time,.
-

If you believe in a Creator then it's relevant.
If you do not then is irrelevant!
D whiltshire, thanks for starting this topic, thought provoking!
The thing that puzzles me is ...................
It has also been proven that gravity slows down time. Thus time can be warped(gravity), slowed or even stopped completely.
Why is it that as you get older and fatter (heavier) that time seems to speed up! Shouldn't time slow down?

God Helps Everyone?
by ClassAvenger ini talked with a jehovah witness and he told me that god only helped those who obeyed him, that it said somewhere in the bible.
the discussion came when i told him about soldiers asking god for help.
he said that god wouldn't listent to them because the soldiers knew they were sinning by killing and they kept on doing it.

You should have asked where it says in the Bible that you can not be a soldier!
"Those who live by the sword will die by the sword" is one of their favorite scriptures to twist. I take it to mean people who live by violence.
Can't help you with the scripture you asked for, sorry!

Avishai,
Suppose I could have gone on the KH build - going around dismantling things, taking nails out, putting plasterboard on back to front!
Wonder how long I would have lasted!
