  Green Bibles

  i have always wondered something, what was up with the hard cover green bibles?

  i ask, as it just seemed weird to me to have a bible with this kind of cover.

  they always seemed to be everywhere too ... the new studies always had one.

  We were given one, I guess the giveee thought it was a special gift. I think it was green so it would stand out as different, like them. Reminds me of the insides of a squashed grasshopper.

  they will tell you the internet is BAD, I find it a source of more truths than not. Do your reference work, I mean anybody that they have quoted, look it up because a lot of times they have taken it out of context. Read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz, it gives an insight as to how the gov body operates. Go to silentlambs.org and read what the abused have to say and then ask yourself ,would God really approve of such an organization. sisX

  My poor mother...HELP!

  i just got off the phone with my mom and ...even though i had trouble with my "native" language...i still got the message to her.

  jehovahs witnesses are bad!

  (sounds more dramatic in my language) we spent about 40 mins talking on the phone back and forth in the "disfellowshiping" rule.

  I agree with the above responses, people in general will do the opposite if overloaded. Maybe asking point blank questions, now and then while she can still think for herself. Has she seen silentlambs.org or any info regarding how the abused are treated?

  What org rules were stupid to you?

  when i was in the truth i thought that the most ludicrous and petty ruling they ever introduced and still practiced is that congregation book study conductors were and are responsible for collecting every group members report.

  surely every member ought to be responsible for his/her own actions.

  at the beginning of the following month and certainly before the 5th i would always receive the stupid telephone call from the secretary are you aware that 3 publishers havent reported?

  There was one congregation where the elder told the sisters they needed to wear hose, in another you didn't-- yet ,in another the kids couldn't roller skate. My husband hated wearing ties, suit coats and being told to botton his top button which he never did.

  many of us here, are not sure what the future holds, if there is a god, and if so what is his purpose.

  i too fall into that category, but i think im better off now because when i was a dub, i always wondered if i was doing enough to get into the new world.

  i worried about if my children would make it and if i was taking the lead for my wife and the cong.

  while they look down on me, I'm looking right back at them. Who are they to judge.

  I still believe in God, just not the organization, so with that we have only 2 commandments to abide by with Jesus being the mediator, not the elders.

  p.s. I think you have a good woman standing beside you!!!!!!!!!!

  We are also fairly new to the site, we find it theraputic. We recently said our goodbyes to the congregation here in Aug. I refused to meet with them (sent letters). thankful our sons were never active. Bad Jerry on the other hand, met with the elders on Monday, taped the whole 1 1/2 hours. He will shorten it somewhat before he posts it. Stay tuned.
