we are a family of 5, that is 3 boys with two being teens.
I write a budget of 600 a month, but it ends up being 650 plus, and thats not counting the money that goes for school lunches.
after reading the thread on portion sizes, it'd be interesting to see what folks spend weekly on their groceries.
one of my new year's resolutions was to improve my finances and groceries are coming under scrutiny.
i spend about 30 a week (now), but when i wasn't paying attention and stopping in all the time, i'll bet i was spending double that.. so, what do you spend?

i started this post earlier and then my computer went whacky again.
to those who read about my grandson's fall and refusing blood, he no longer is in the intensive care unit, however another 'problem' had been ensuing amidst this crisis, and that has to do with his jw girlfriend and mother.
in a nutshell, they have tried to 'usurp' my family's role of responsibility especially at the hospital.
Oh boy, oh boy, some people are so headstrong it seems that they are so in to themselves that they do not see what affect it is causing on others.
I have heard that sons tend to marry someone like their mother, and I've seen it over and over in congregations, young witnesses marrying the first person they go out with. I hope this young man will see how controlling she is and bale.
good move on your brothers part of excluding them from visiting, as your grandson really needs a quiet atmosphere, It will be nice when he gets to your house so you can continue that enviroment.
hugs to you!
.
we all remember certain things and events when we were young, but do you remember certain events in your life when you were only 3 or 4 years old?
how far back can your memory go?.
I can remember when I was around 4 my mother wanted me to bring two cigarettes to a neighbor because she had borrowed two. they had two black labs, one was named King and the other Thunder. I told her that the one was going to bite me. He's going to bite me, He's going to bite me. No, No said my mom.
I went down, the dog was sleeping and I thought I could walk quietly past him. NOT
He bite me right in the butt, had the other dog, who was nice, not of started fighting with him I would of been worse.
ended up in the hospital for a few days.Have a nice set of scars. I call it my identity mark.
also remember being little in the hospital ( tonciles, adnoids removed and then the dog bite) and back then they put eather (sp?) on a cloth and then they covered your face with it, I hated that!
well, i gave the love of my life c of c last week and guess what?
she still hasn't read it.
i have never seen anyone so afraid of a book.
try not to bring up the subject to much, the more you ask about it, the more she may decline to read it.
just leave it out in the open and maybe someday she will pick it up and skim over it, the next time she may read a bit more.
patience and time,
when i had a 1988 car, i said i have an 88 .
when i had a 1993 car, i said i have a 93 .
when i had a 1999 car, i said i have a 99 .
I have been having that same thought, only it's on addressing the kids in this generation
I was a kid in the 50's (late 50's)
I was a teen in the 70's
my sons are all born in the 80's
So what do you call those growing up in the 2000 years?
kids in the zero year?
the zero generation?

portions are way too big.
would you agree with me that portions that we eat are too big?
today on the news, they said that 1 canadian out of 3 is overweight.
Yes portions are huge and it seems thats what people want, the best thing to do is like suggested, eat off the childrens menu, eat half ,take the other half home and have a meal for later.
people would be shocked at what a portion size really is. I've heard that in the European countries they can tell who is American just looking at them (the majority) get off the plane.
question then to the English and Aussies is? what are your portions like?

elders will be doing a shepharding call in 10 minutes...why we have not attended meetings in so long.
i want nothing to do with the organization anymore....pray for me that i can keep my strength against them!
!
hello from one Jackie to another,
I think you did a pretty good job with them, sometimes they are only hostile when the other person is or when they have to defend the org.
I too feel that God answers prayers of the non JW, many times we hear of people who's prayers have been answered, before we DA'd my husband said over and over that he had been praying for direction and he (we) then found the truth behind the org
to lovesdub, imanaliento, francois and mary, i just want to update my grandson's condition, he is doing fine.. francois, my grandson is in the montrel general, and i check out the info you suggested.
the nurse is well aware of your concerns, and they are using imipenem.. mary, as to why he's going to stay with his grandparents?
we have sleeping quarters at ground level which is better suited for his condition.
so glad to hear your grandson is improving! thanks for the update.
Your brothers story sounds amazing, he could write a book.
take care.
someone that i know well because of my business, suddenly died, while on vacation.
i talked to his wife yesterday.
she told me that her husband's view of life was that he wanted to enjoy life every day and that when he did die, he wanted to die in his favorite vacation spot, aruba.
