our friend, oompa, has passed away.
just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
This is so very sad, I know he was under immense pressure at times. This is certainly tearing open old wounds for myself and I'm sure many others.
The events that lead to something like this are certainly terrible. My thoughts go out to all those that knew and cared for our dear one.

i thought there was something on this site recently about a letter writting campaign that helped over 40 witnesses leave the org, but i cannot find anything here.
i searched all the related sites but again found nothing.
i am starting to question if i dreamt the whole thing up.
I saw something like that on reddit/r/exjw but it seemed very far fetched and fake.
i woke up and nearly put my foot on a 2ft long snake that somehow got up to the 2nd floor.
i screamed and ran out of the room and started crying.
i hate snakes and am terrified of them.
Get a dog, he will take care of em for you! Ever since I got a dog I havent had a single mouse or snake in the house. But I have had a cat make a guest appearance via the dog door!

has there ever been any official letters stating the amount of field service required to be considered exemplary?
usually the number given is 10hrs, but if you look up " 10 hours " in the cd-library you get 14 hits.
none from the bible of course, and only 3-5 are related to field service.
I know when I was in bethel and a MS, I was told by two elders that I was the best speaker in the hall but could not give outgoing public talks unless I got my hours up. I was averaging about 8-10.
i served between brooklyn/wallkill between 2005 - 2012 (including one and two week temping).
