Okay, I think it was Colonel Mustard in the Conservatory with the lead pipe....... Really I think that the revelation that a governing body member had a blood transfusion could be quite devastating. However there is no way that this could result in a serious lawsuit. Remember that the decision a Jehovahs Witness makes to refuse medical treatment is a matter of personal conscience. Of course if your conscience makes the wrong decision you get treated like a leper... The only financial impact such a revelation could have would be a further eroding of income as people are "stumbled out of the truth." Remember there will always be people who will want to be Jehovah Witnesses. "You can fool some of the people all of the time." ------ Abraham Lincoln

Hi VM44 Charles Sinutko Jr. was a circuit and district overseer. The 96 year old Charles Sinutko would have to be his father. I grew up in New Jersey and in our congregation was Paul Sinutko Sr. who was Charles Sinutko Sr's brother. Paul Sinutko Sr had a son named Paul Sinutko Jr who would be about 50 now except that he passed away in the 90's. Paul Sinutko Sr also passed away in the 90's. I first met Charles Sinutko Jr around 1970 in New Jersey. From my recollection he was about 15-20 years older than Paul Sinutko Jr which would have made him about 30-35 then and about 65-70 now. In 1970 Charles Jr. seemed very young for a district overseer. He was an extremely gifted speaker and had an extraordinary singing voice. I met him again several years later in the congregation that you and I both attended in California. I'm surprised you don't remember him. He was our circuit overseer around 1974. That was the last I saw of him. Of course I left Watchtowerism around 1980. Hope this helps Take care Bob

It is just so demanding being a witness. So freaking demanding. Besides the meetings, the family studies and the field service, both my wife and I have full time jobs and we have the children to care for. If I miss even one weekend of field service I have to answer an to an interrogation. Since becoming an elder it has just become worse. There is so much to do that I have absolutely no time for myself. No time at all.
Gary,
Jesus said that the truth will set you free.
Do you feel free?
If not, maybe its because you really aren't "in the truth."

World War I did not start during the last days
by jwfacts injehovah's witnesses place great emphasis on world war i proving that the last days started in 1914. what few realise is that world war one started prior to the start of the last days.
the war started in aug whereas the wts claims the last days started on october 2 1914. this means that wwi started during the gentile times and as such can not be claimed to be an indication of the last days.. i asked my pioneer school conductor about this and he claimed that satan started wwi in august as a smokescreen to divert peoples attention from jesus rulership talking place shortly afterwards.
this is an unsubstantiated excuse.

I asked my Pioneer School conductor about this and he claimed that Satan started WWI in August as a smokescreen to divert peoples attention from Jesus rulership talking place shortly afterwards.
I think your instructor is absolutely right. I mean who today other than those clever JW's knows that the last days started in 1914. Certainly not your typical worldling. Obviously Satan is a master of the smokescreen.

Nate,
I especially liked the stamping of 666 on the hand and forehead! When asked did you tell them that the number was really 999 and that they were just reading it upside down?

Ripping Apart The Faithful & Discreet Slave Doctrine Slashes A Foundation
by minimus inin order to get to the core of the wts belief system, one must get to the foundation of all of its teachings.
that basis is the belief that the fds gives, from jehovah god, all the "spiritual food at the proper time".
if the "slave" gets all it's light" from jehovah god and jesus christ, the head of the congregation, why are their continued "refinements"?

The bottom line is this:
To remain a Jehovah's Witness and keep your family from treating you like a leper you must believe that in the year 1918 or 1919 (they're not sure) Jesus appointed a Brooklyn printing company run by an alcoholic attorney as his sole respresentatives here on earth.
Personally I find the story about Joseph Smith and the gold plates a little more believable!

Experience: A brother with no college education began work in a prestigious large (unnamed) corporation in the mailroom. After 3 or 4 weeks, he was offered a job in management. The managers observed that he could express himself clearly, and that he could relate well to people--things he learned in the Theocratic Ministry School. However, he turned down the promotion and stayed in the mailroom, so he could pioneer."
Experience: A brother with no college education was engaged in streetwork in front of a Starbucks in Seattle when Bill Gates walked by. Bill was so impressed by the brothers ability to stand perfectly still while holding up the magazines and not saying a word, that he offered the brother a job as CEO of Microsoft and a 40% interest in the company!
Okay which experience was real?????

Do you think that JW's leaders are going to announce a new date in 2006?
by booker-t ini was reading a thread here the other and it mentioned that the assembly for 2006 will be "delivance at hand".
is this going to be like 1974 when every jw's thought the end was going to come in 1975?
i don't think jw's leaders would be that stupid again and build jw's for another date-setting letdown.

VM44,
I like that assembly badge!
By the way, who did conquer the world in the 1970's???????????

What's the Society's beef - The act of going to college OR getting a degree
by truthseeker ini have a question - the society laments about those jw's who ignore "wisdom from above" to pioneer after high school but go to college instead.. they use a fictional account of timothy rejecting higher education at the drama this year.. they scream in the oct 1st wt that university (consisting of four years) is bad and ask rheotorical questions to parents such as, "christian parents, is this what you really want for your children?".
if the act of going to college campus was so bad, why doesn't the society permit "online degrees?
" - these are more cost effective and just as valuable as a traditional campus based ecuation.. so what is it about going to university that really upsets them?.

I agree with IP_SEC:
An educated individual with critical thinking skills is less likely to want to remain a member of brain-dead-mid-nineteenth-century-end-of-the-world- religious-cult.
