My question for a JW would be:
If the WT is not the word of God why do you disfellowship people who disagree with it?
it was brought out at recent meeting that we must stay close to "jehovah's organization" and follow closely the "admonitions" found in the watchtower magazine because we know that the information found in the watchtower is given directly to us by jehovah himself.
question for the believing witness?
1) if by your own teaching's you believe that jehovah is a god of truth and cannot ever tell non -truths, how do you explain why the watchtower has changed it's "understanding" of scriptures so many times?

feel free to correct me but i am utterly unable to find any trace of the blood issue or mention of masturbation in the.
new book for kids released at the assembly.
it certainly deals with other issues that require instruction such as birthdays,.
I realize that this is a book for six to eleven years olds, but don't these children need guidance too? What is the proper age for dub children to stop masturbating?
things that the wts could never get away with putting in print but have free reign to say verbally
heres my summary of the dc after recently having the veil lifted from my eyes re the wts
part 1/6
But that John class group has been PROGRESSIVELY cleansed
Is this referring to the fame that dubs have earned down throught the years by cleaning the toilets at the convention sites?
i have been doing "scriptural battle" with my mother and step-father who have been practicing witnesses for nearly 40 years (i did not grow up in their household), and i need an answer to a question i have not been able to find on every jw website i have been scouring.
perhaps someone out there can enlighten me!(?).
i am trying to understand where the wtbs got the idea that they are "jehovah's faithful and discreet slave"?
I don't think there really is any evidence, biblical or otherwise, that back in 1919 Jehovah chose a printing company run by a liquor loving lawyer as his personal representatives on earth.
with some interesting changes in jw land ....... - subscriptions only allowed through kingdim hall.
- internet is more so taboo.
- the watchtower site, has no history files or unable to read magazines on line, it seems that they will not be using the internet as a tool for preaching.. - new comers into the religion, can sheck out everything on the internet before they get too involved.. so, how will the watchtower be able to increase the numbers (followers) ????????.
H. L. Mencken once said:
"Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."
That is why there will always be a Watchtower.
there was an article in today's edition of the riverside press enterprise about dave meyers.
meyers was a professional basketball player who gave up his career at the age of 27 when he converted to the jehovah's witnesses.
he has gone on to become an elementary school teacher in lake elsinore.
The article spoke approvingly about his choices in life and gave a fine witness for the dubs. It also said that Meyers will be speaking this Monday at 6:00 PM at the Corona Public Library (corner of Sixth and Main). His "talk" will be about success, education and sports -- three things prohibited by the Watchtower. I intend to attend this little event to see if Meyers starts promoting the Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm sure after his "talk" there will be a question and answer session. If Meyers refrains from cult recruitment than I will refrain from asking any questions. But if Meyers' does try to give his witness than someone needs to be there to point out the truth about the "truth."
Anyone want to join me?
today i was at work and a jw slipped a watchtower and awake in the mail slot.in the awake there is an article titled "is there an unforgivable sin?
" here is a paragraph that caught my eye.. some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now "apostate fighters" against god's spirit.they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.
have these induividuals committed the unforgiveable sin?
"Apostate Fighters" sounds like a good name for a baseball team. It reminds of a team in Japan named Nippon Ham Fighters.
once upon a time, judge rutherford stood before a crowd in madison square garden.
the audience included many catholic action types who could have easily included an assassin.
the judge may have been a lot of things (well,..... drunk, ego-manical, adulterous, and dishonest, actually) but he wasn't a coward.
Metatron,
Good post. I'm reminded of the Marquis de Mirabeau's remarks about Prussia not being a state with an army but an army with a state. In this case the WT is not a religion having lawyers but lawyers having a religion.
