It is difficult - I and three others in various congs are going through the same thing.... not giving donations, min service and comments, look at everyone suspiciously its a terrible way to live but its either age, faith in Jehovah himself, and not the org. - no where else to go to build "acquaintencaes" anymore.. and on and on --It's a trap... and unless you have a good support system on the "outside" its stay in and keep your thoughts to yourself, although some day you may want to break free then do it - but pick your battles

Struggling to Live a Lie
by Addison0998 init’s been very difficult, much more than i first anticipated to live a lie, (be pimo and a regular active member) i still live with my parents but i plan on moving out at the end of the year, so i really need to keep it together.
but i think people are starting to get suspicious that something is up.
i’ve stopped commenting, going on service all the time, talking at the door, and occasionally voicing something, such as a question that no one has a good answer for, that makes people think, but ahah, thinking is dangerous and wrong so that is suspicious of course.

Material such as the film at the end of this years convention confirms that I was right to take my kids out the religion
by jambon1 init’s quite affirming to see the horrific material that they’re serving up at the convention this year.
aside from blatant homophobia, the scenes at the end of the convention that are discussed on another thread stoop to new levels of fear mongering.
it seems to occur to nobody inside the organisation that this kind of material could trigger fear, deprsssion, anxiety, stress.

This video is and will be very impactful on the young ones... our son, who is not associated has had nightmares, distress, anxieties due to remembering the graphic pictures in the older publications regarding Armageddon and the great tribulation where all will die but JWs...
What impact this will have on young ones wont be known for several years unless a kid is wise enough to start asking questions and letting his / her parents know that this was disturbing

CO asked for everyone 20 years old & younger for a group photo
by LevelThePlayingField inthere was a co visit in ohio a couple weeks ago.
when he was finishing up his sunday talk he said that he would like if "all the children that are from this congregation, not if you're just visiting, but from this congregation to come on up on the stage right after the meeting because i want to get a picture of you.".
i thought to myself, why?

I have a thought-- most congregations now do not have younger ones..if they do they are few and far between,,,, pubs most all have white hair and are showing their age.. how uplifting to see children in these photos and not with aged ones who are pointedly showing the congregations are going to be losing a lot of aged pubs in the near future....
More selling of halls due to non support cause the young are not going to be supporting it...

Meghan Markle Will Omit 'Obey' from Her Wedding Vows to Prince Harry
by AFRIKANMAN inwhen meghan markle says her royal wedding vows to prince harry on saturday, she’ll be following in the footsteps of princess diana and kate middleton by choosing to omit the traditional promise to “obey” her husband, the palace confirms.. during the ceremony, officiated by archbishop of canterbury justin welby, meghan will tell her royal groom: “i meghan, take you, harry, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to god’s holy law.
in the presence of god i make this vow.”.
the decision doesn’t come as a surprise: meghan has long been a vocal feminist, working with organizations like one world vision to learn about the challenges facing women and girls living in dubai and mumbai.

good - no man owns her to be passed from man to man - she walked the aisle by herself and took the word obey out... well done!

we are stuck in a 100 year old at least - hot( no ac) building this year. Getting it cheap as it has to be cleaned...no renovations since being built --
and they cant afford to publish anything now?? What has happened to new light? I would say their chest pounding is causing them a heart attack with all the money they need to cover expenses regarding child abuse issues
So we have to send the org $10- 12,000 dollars out of the fund even before the convention/assembly starts and THEN pay for the expenses??? of the three days. JOKE!

Don't know if this was mentioned but the fact she walked part way by herself indicated she was not property to be given away by a man to another man--- loved it!! She broke the tradition of being owned...She opted instead to walk with her little bridesmaids and the Mulrooney twin boys holding her train.

actually he said the guy shot himself in the hear to get away from OCD and upon coming to, apparently he hit the brain where the ocd occurred and was cured -- laughed as did most of the attendees. That was so inappropriate,, this guy was in a sad emotional state enough to try and kill himself and this was the best Loesch could do. He did not say "unfortunately one individual sadly tried to take his life" he just went into the story without one bit of remorse for the guy.
Showed video of fires and floods in BC quoted Gal 6 Do what is fine- mentioned how NB is dealing with floods
And 1 John 4:16-18 God is love and how much he loves children - no mention of abuses -- and how love transcends - I guess that was for the victims
Re education example of Luke the physician how he did not encourage education but became a disciple, same as Paul and that college fosters spirit of independence-- (does that mean thinking ability)
Hit on marrying out of truth as well
The towards the end of the talk he mentioned something which seemed to me to be out of context that we should pray hard to Jehovah and not commit suicide.. QUESTION---are there problems they are covering up with this statement...
Porn, education, bad association, neighbours, workmates, it was all on the table, nothing new...

Cant remember the correct wording but years ago, when Knorr was getting off the elevator --" Knorr said when the money stops, Jehovah has indicated preaching is done"??
Looks like its happening.. disgusting how every meeting its about money - no different than tv preachers.... worse even as they are attaching a scripture from "Jehovah" and even saying at the end of one letter, "may Jehovah continue to bless your contributions"
What????

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

The love bombing stops when you are baptized,, oh yes, you are so happy to be in a car group,,, but if your single, a widow, a single parent, you may be helped by some, but that wears off as stress takes it tole on all. So now you are on your own... especially if your husband dies, your worldly parents are not in the picture anymore, as the truth is all in all and they now are part of the worldly ones who are destined to die at armageddon ...and the so called in the truth in laws do not see you as part of THEIR family anymore cause the husband died... your on your own.
Bottom line -- your on your own... do not expect anything and you won't be disappointed
Then you leave to go to a place you may not have been for years..the world... and you have to start all over again or be content to be alone.
