they promised that the nwt revised would be available in so many languages by now, and they have failed miserably.. english stands alone.

as a result, they are in damage control mode.

Get your point, but as you state that is for downloads, even then after three years it is still limited. But I think the point of this post is hard copy, it would seem that English is the only language available and that seems to be backed up by the WT article.
So if they have translated the new NW into 23 languages online, you would expect that at least these languages would be in print or that other languages would be a priority for those countries that have limited or no internet access!
That does not appear to be the case, that quote from WT 07 which the same as now would seem to indicate that they really are cutting down on printing, they do have money problems or something else is going on, or maybe all of those.

I understand the point you are making and perhaps I should have clarified myself.

What I meant was, he did not use a scripture that clearly states or explains Overlapping Generations. What he actually used was an obscure explanation of a scripture from the old testament to explain a point made by Jesus in the new testament. 1 Cor 14:33 says "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace--as in all the congregations of the Lord's people".

Now if that scripture is correct and the explanation from Splane is correct, then why is there so much confusion among JW's?

Why then would God create so much confusion if we are truly deep into the time of the end?

Surely the light would become brighter, not dimmer.

Why then would God create so much confusion at this time if he truly does not desire people to be destroyed?

It should be as clear as day, but it is not, and that is because Jesus did not mean Overlapping Generations, otherwise he would have said so.

If he was going to use the scripture that Splane used, would he have not done so?

The reality is Jesus used no chart, no scripture (New or Old Testament), no vague or obscure meaning, there is no record that I am aware of, that the Disciples felt that they had to explain what Jesus said in a different way many years later. What Jesus said, is what he meant, and the reality is, that is what the Org believed until very recently.

So why the change?

They panicked, the Anointed that witnessed 1914 are gone, or nearly gone if any are still alive, everything they believed and preached was nailed to the cross of 1914 so to speak. If they allowed this corner stone to be removed, then the whole house of cards will collapse and nothing can stop it! Therefore, they had to shore up this doctrine, for without it they have nothing!

Of course there is another aspect to this, if they are wrong about this what else are they wrong about?

In 30 years of being in the truth, I cannot remember a single occasion when they have ever admitted to error or even apologised for anything!

They are like the Pope, infallible, and there you have the crux of the matter, it is all about image and control!

A Complete lack of Empathy with a huge side order of Foulness !

over the last few years i have experienced in general a lack of sincerity and empathy from jw's .. i won't lie 2 sisters i knew to be different and quite genuine ... all be it still sipping the 'cool aid' though.

but on the whole most brothers/sisters i've met couldn't really care less or just have no idea how to genuinely connect.

one sister asked me a year ago how things were with my husband (an un-believer) i replied " a bit strange right now" (in hindsight it was always made worse because i was in a cult!!

If you insert overlapping before generation the song no longer works, it does not tell the story as it was written, it makes no sense!

I postulate that overlapping generation has been formulated to overcome the failed 1914 prediction, the increasing anointed numbers and to perpetuate the Cult of FDS for the foreseeable future.

For just as inserting overlapping before generation in the song makes no sense, inserting overlapping before generation in Matthew 24:34 makes even less sense, as these are the words of Jesus himself, if he meant overlapping generation then he would have said so. But the reality is, he did not say this, so logically he did not mean this!

i had the luxury of being at work distracted whilst he posted it.

i have been baptised for just over 2 years and studied since 2010. i couldn't take it anymore, not just the zealous dislike/disgust for 'people in the world' (this includes my husband and 99% of my family btw) but the obvious.... the investigations into child sexual abuse.

That elder with his supercilious grin on his face, is as many others have stated, downright creepy. If he was genuinely concerned for this woman his facial reactions would have indicated this. Her story should have ripped his heart out, instead he was enjoying his Andy Warhol, 15 minutes of fame.

i may be on a diatribe now but something has came back to me tonight.. during my studies i was always told that "silence is compliance".

this would come up whilst i was 'putting on the new personality'.

i would be reminded of possible social situations or associations where if my integrity was at all compromised by someone else's standards -my silence to their un-christian actions would be deemed as compliance.

Fully agree with your post, it is funny how if you remain silent you are guilty of compliance, when they remain silent it is because others are not deserving of the truth.

What they fail to understand, is what is in the song "Silence is Golden" by The Tremeloes:

Silence is golden

They can remain silent, but others can see exactly what they are.

Where do I start telling a psychologist about the mental trauma I feel as a fading jw?

i am on a pension, so i could not afford to pay for a psychologist, but my good doctor referred me to a free clinic for people on a low income, for my anxiety and depression, so i have finally got my first appointment with a psychologist since i started my fade, so where do i start trying to explain the mental trauma i feel as a fading jw?

i would appreciate your advice.

Like you I recently joined this forum after 25 years in the truth, but unlike you I haven't suffered mentally from this cult as you have. Therefore, I cannot fully understand your pain, but I do sympathize with you. All I can say is what everyone else has already suggested, just be yourself and be honest.

Any psychologist who knows what they are doing will be able to help you and ease your pain. If it helps a friend of mine had some counselling a while back it would seem that most psychologist's are fully aware of this cult and it's harmful practices.
