  Imperfect? How's That?

  it's common to see "we're all imperfect humans" or the like.

  my question is who says?

  aside from the bible and religious teachings, that statement is untrue.

  I don't believe realigion or Bibles' theory of imperfection.
  A God who would make generations of people suffer for the mistake of their ancestors and then allow the one ultimatily responsible for it all in the first place (Saten) to have a six thousand year or so party is not loving or perfect in my opinion.
  This is what belief in the Bible requires of us. No thank you!!

  We are no more imperfect than the rest of life here on this earth.
  We are neither perfect or imperfect.We are not flawed,were just being the natural humans we are.
  We do make mistakes an misjudguments but I do not define that as imperfection.
  Some of us still use the statement "were all imperfect" just as a reminder of our humanity,not meaning that we buy into that belief.
  Does this make sense?
  I don't expect every one to agree.This is just how I feel now.

  i posted another comment about how angry i'm getting with the organisation.

  the thing is, it is this and other message boards that are making me feel this way.

  Yes, I think I know what you mean.
  In the past I spent quite alot of time posting and lurking on the old H20 then when we moved to this board, I quit posting.Shortly after that I decided that the board wasn't helping me that much and there was very little new info.I didn't think it was good for me to keep rehashing things over and over.I felt I had risin above this and decided to move on with my life and make new friends.I have met some wonderful new friends and am glad that I did and plan to continue.

  But during my absence from the boards I continued to have these feelings of not fitting in with the rest of the world. I was feeling like an alein.
  It's almost impossible and probably unhealthy not to talk about something that has had such a great impact on your life.I tried to just live life but continually found myself dealing with new experiences that are just common place to everyone else that never were JW's.So many times I'd try to explain something and they just didn't get it.
  Well, this is why I'm back.I realize there needs to be a balance of ex JW friends and the reast of the world.
  Instead of only looking for what this board can do for me,I now try to see what I have to offer.I hope I will find what I'm looking for and help others too.
  You may end up doing what I did ,but if you do my guess is that you'll eventually be back.
  I hope this is what you were asking.

  Experiences: How you know it ain't the 'truth'

  please post your experiences here for any lurkers to read.

  when i was a teenager, there was a young lady early 20's who had moved into our cong.

  she had a newborn son and had just married her worldly boyfriend, the father of the baby.

  There are so many reasons why I know know this is not the "truth"!
  This is one of the most recent.A little background first.
  I was a strong witness all my life,never inactive or irregular.I was never a trouble maker.I quit going to meetings about eight months ago.
  Not one visit,not one phone call has been made on me by any one in the congregation including the elders.No,"where have you been?" or "are you okay?"
  Just one big nothing,after a life time of service!!
  I am not Df'd or Da'd.
  My own mother is so self rightious that she can't even show the natural love she should towards her own daughter.Here's a quote from one of her latest letters.
  ...."I don't know why there will be a need for me to write you,since my life is centered around the truth.If I think there's something you need to know,I'll write.If you want to call to see how I'm doing that's fine too."....

  Did Ray Franz write COC out of anger?

  i asked my gf who is a jw but not an active one if she has ever read coc and she tells me she has and that his book was mostly lies about the organization and that's the reason he left was because he was tempted by a hooker and ended up sleeping with her.

  he told the elders what he did because he was looking for help and he ended up getting df.

  later he found out he ended up contract hiv.

  I'm going back to the subject of this thread.
  When I finally read Crisis Of Conscience, I was blown away by the total absence of anger.It was to me just a personal acount without alot of emotions except for love which was very abundant.

  maximus quoted this letter in another thread, and of course the letter is real.

  but it is a smoking gun, and i have now posted the scan of that part maximus quoted as evidence to the validity of the posting :).
