Reminds me of a notorious District Convention in Tacoma WA in 1994..... I was told I could not park in the handicapped space that was marked handicapped because my parking permit was from the State of Idaho and the Convention was in WA(like I am supposed to carry 50 parking permits with me from each state?)....I parked there anyway, told the attendant to call the cops if he wanted me to move and proceeded to spend the next hour in Administration threatening to slap the BORG with the Americans with Disabilities Act lawsuit. I was told that the parking lot belonged to the BORG for the time they rented it and that they could do whatever they wanted with parking. Again I said call the cops on me. They did not of course, but I was hoping they would!

STIGMATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the actual idea of stigmata did not fascinate me (stigmata is the marks appearing on the body that resemble the wounds of christ).
but throughout the movie the underlying theme were the lost scrolls recovered in 1945 or something like that.

Sure do. They are the Nag Hammadi Library. They were discovered in Nag Hammadi Egypt by a shepherd. They were in clay jars in a cave. He actually destroyed some of them because when he opened the ancient jars they puffed up dust and fragments and he thought it was a genie! But fortunately word got around and before his old mum could toss anymore on the fire to keep warm they were rescued. It took until the 1970's before they mysteriously found their way to the US(by hook and by crook since they were Egyptian National treasures) and apparently it did take a millionaire to put together a translation committee. Years of scandal and hesitation, then finally after a new committee was formed, they were finally translated in the 1990's. You can buy the complete volume for about $20 at any good book store, it is called the Nag Hammadi Library, editted by Michael Robinson. you can also find it online at www.gnosis.com(click on Nag Hammadi Library link). Elaine Pagels is also a noteworthy author who studies this subject and she has written numerous books on the subject, most especially the 'Gospels' included in the Nag Hammadi. Also interesting reading on this subject is 'The Other Bible' by Willis Barnstone, also available for about $20 at any good book store. for an irreverent look at Gnostic Scripture(funny-but very accurate!) go to the Gnostic Friends Network at www.enemies.com (warning take it with a grain of salt!)

Thinker's Wife- I saw that documentary too- it was an Irish woman wasn't it? amazing! She felt the emotions of the previous life before she felt anything else and even as a child she was driven to find her 'lost children'... If you want to judge such experiences by the J-W rule of thumb that it is demonic, I just can't find the point. I mean if Satan is behind the 'light show'-(eg 'angel of light') what is his motive? Pretty elaborate if all he achieves is confusion(especially when it seems he could do the confusing alot easier by just starting an Internet Message Board- ) I cant see any ill effects of becoming more aware of natural pyschic abilites.

well basically, I don't need to be validated by anonymous posters on a message board about John Edward. John has read me personally. I never met him, he did it 'cold' with his back to me. All I answered to his questions was YES or NO, absolutely no elaboration. And for all you scepitcs crying fraud, before he finished he said to me-"you can't afford this- I will not charge you for it."
He was totally accurate. He did not only tell me about deceased people. He managed to tell me my mother's father's name(she was the result of a rape and never knew her father), also my father and birthdate(which has been a family secret for about 38 years now.) Since then I have verified everything he told me.
I do not ever see him pumping anyone for information on his show, and I have been in the audience 3 times since my reading. In fact many times he gives information that means nothing to the one receiving it, only to find out there is aconnection somehow to the one who does know what he is talking about. His books are much more down-to-earth than his tv show, which I agree can look like a circus act upon shallow inspection.
Now as far as the charge of ignorance because someone puts more trust in supernatural and paranormal than scientific...try having an intellectual conversation with a Kabbalist or a 27th level Freemason! Most Rosicrucians I know could hold their own with any astrophysicist. Perhaps the idea of ignorance comes from the very real situation of most J-Ws who are denied the freedom to pursue any knowledge outside of the false doctrine of that cult. Been there done that. But not anymore.
Incidentally I am not even looking for 'truth'. It is a waste of time. Chasing your tail. Truth is relative. Only freedom is absolute. Without freedom you cannot even THINK about the CONCEPT of truth. My truth is not your truth and it should not be. But my freedom means nothing without your freedom- if you are not free I am limited too.
Simply, Jesus the new commandment was to have love among ourselves. He said the whole Law was summed up in the two commands to 'Love your God(etc)' and to 'Love your neighbor(etc)'. Then John said 'God IS Love'. I say Love needs no command. To command love is to destroy it. Love cannot exist without the freedom to choose it or not. If I love it is because I choose to love freely, not because I was commanded to do it. That is my truth.

He is NOT a circus act or a side show.and I dont really care if anyone has a negative critique of him, becoz I know what I believe now that I am free to believe it, so dont waste your time flaming. I did not post this for anyone but the ones on the REINCARNATION thread who seem to be sincerely searching.
I have always had experiences with psychic senses. From an early age I have watched as my toys and stuffed animals were burned because I was 'demonized'. I have heard earthquakes minutes before they hit,I have heard the phone ring before itactually did, I have had 'dreams' of people I did not know and then met them shortly afterward(and these people have also 'known' me when we did meet and expressed similar 'dreams' beforehand), I have seen disasters and death, I can tell if a woman is pregnant. All these 'talents' I was told to suppress and keep quiet about by my father so I would not get into trouble. His explanation was that I was 'special' and most rank-and-file J-Ws would not understand. boy was he correct on that one!
All these talents and gifts led me to the 'if-you-cant-beat-em-join-em' attitude when I did leave the BORG and I first studied witchcraft. Since then I have studied various traditions of paganism and also gnosticism, hermeticism, and Mormonism. I know the basics about Hinduism and Buddhism and their comcepts of reincarnation. Interestingly, Mormons have a decent explanation for reincarnation even tho they do not believe in more than one incarnation of the body per spirit. They believe that while we get one chance as a human body, we have planned out the whole experience with our Father first, and chosen who we will be born to, who we will meet, etc...all the while watching our spirit brothers and sisters do their thing and taking temporary bodies at times to help them out!
I KNOW I have been here before. I fell like this could have been my last time, but I have missed some opportunites and with my current health problems, I may have to come back and finish things up. I am not happy about that.
Well if anyone wants to email me for more info or discussion please do, I really am having serious health problems right now and I don't feel like dealing with nasty, negative energies on any boards that will cut into what time I may have left in this life.

DF`ing Committees Need a Chaperone.
by Englishman ini remember, when i was but a lad, how a young sister of 15 was publicly reproved to the whole congregation for being sexually experienced.. a couple of years later, the same thing occurred with another young lady, who was forced to sob in front of everyone.. even then, with all my j-dub imprinting, i recall feeling outraged at the congregations treatment of these girls.
i felt that the way that they had been dealt with was far more intrusive and abusive than anything that they may have experienced in their first sexual forays.. i recall feeling very deeply that it was very wrong for a female to have to submit herself to the interrogations of 3 middle aged men, whilst she had to be alone in her guilt and misery as she endured their probing.. in later years, my ex-wife had to go through this experience.
ok, she was no shrinking violet, but again i felt most indignant on her behalf.. surely, this is not right?

How about this one Englishman? I was 'mugged' a few years ago. It would have been more than a mugging if I had not started to laugh hysterically at the feeble attempts of this man and he ran away. I dont know why I laughed at him, but it saved me. I did not tell for about 3 weeks, and before I told the elders I told the cops. I made out a report to a female officer and was treated very kindly. At the Kingdom Hall that night was a different story however... I was made to go into a room smaller than my bathroom with three large men(I was just attacked by a man and I was made to go thru this?) Whereupon these men grilled me for over an hour with questions like 'why where you walking by yourself?'(it was inside a security area in my housing development, around a well-lit lake path at about 8:30PM)'why didn't you scream?'(I was using a cane at the time, I was knocked down and the air was knocked out of me before the man covered my mouth with his right hand...)'did he penetrate you with his penis , if not how far did he get in?' I think you get the drift. Then I was dismissed from the room to wait another hour while they decided whether or not I was guilty of fornication-since I did not scream and actually laughed at the guy.
The police never caught the man, but I can tell you one thing- if the elders had not decided I was innocent I would have identified any one of them as the culprit.

Your accurate conclusion that the way 'God's kingdom' will remedy the situation of child labor and poverty, etc by killing most of those the magazine refers to, reminded me of the documentary I saw recently about Vlad the Impaler aka Dracula. One of Vlads favorite methods of solving similar problems in Transylvania, was to invite all the poor, lame, sick and oppressed to his courtyards for a great banquet, at which he would comment that NO ONE in HIS country will be hungry or sick or poverty-stricken. Then he had the gates locked behind them and performed hideous mass slaughter-thus killing everyone who might present a 'problem' to his economic or social policies.... But hey! He was right- NO ONE in HIs country suffered from those troubles!
