i have announced i am on a crusade to encourage skeptics to think on the issue in a way they probably have never done before.

i initially have made the mistake of cramming everything into one, two or three posts.

question: suppose you have 1 $ bill in your right pocket...would you choose to believe that you have in fact a 100$ bill? you would just refuse to look at the bill so you wouldn't be disappointed?

most people don't deny the possibility that the universe has a deeper meaning respectively that soem higher being created it...but since there si no evidence for or against that one cannot be sure.

most of us have experienced the frustration of trying to convince a friend or relative that the wts is not what it claims: an organisation backed by 'god'.. of course, it is very difficult to prove a negative and a real die-hard believer will explain-away any evidence of wrongdoing by the org.

as they are trained to do so well.. i have found it good to reverse the question and ask them:.

"what would the wts have to do to convince you that it wasn't god's organisation?".

hello Simon,

hmm i don't know if that would be very effective. they would probably say something like...if the prophecies don't come true than i would start to doubt then (that is at least what my ex girlfriend said to a similar question of mine! )

i don't know...people who can justify the outragous nonsense published in earlier WT magazines about vaccinations etc. etc. i am afraid won't be much impressed by that.

a) not all people have the same number of teeth...32 and 28 are also possible.

b) changes in morphology take a long time..they require very specific changes in genes regulating embryonic development and the selection for these changes.

if 36 teeth is usually the perfect number than there is no reason during evoluton to change that number...but you could select for individuals with only 32 teeth...after interbreeding these individuals you would get a population of people with only 32 teeth.

evolution is a fact. there is absolutely NO point in denying it. what you can debate is if God artificially directed evolution to get humans in the end. this standpoint doesn't sound very reasonable to me though considering our understanding of molecular biology and how changes in the DNA arise.

today is a historical day for me.

today i got up early but instead of going to the kh as i used to for years, i went to the election office to vote in the current election for the german bundestag.. for years, i had a political opinion and hoped that "my" representative wins.

this time i did my part to ensure this by voting.. it is a strange feeling: being part of this system.
