  Imaginary headline: Bethelite Goes Bezerk and Guns Down 4 GBs!!!

  i imagine that there must be quite a few bethelites that have been there for many years, and because of the internet or their own experience while working at bethel, that causes them to know that this is not the "truth".

  but because they have gotten old and have no place else to go, and so make beleive they are still with the program.

  can you imagine how tuff that must be, what kind of pressure that put on some poor soul lke that.

  I think some of you are taking this thread a little bit too seriously.

  I have seen far more violent, profane, or sexually explicit things posted on this website discussion board and not complained about as much.

  In fact, D wiltshire poses a very valid point. Often, at least here in the United States, there have been cases of disgruntled employees who are laid off work or lose their entire pension and return to kill former coworkers or bosses.

  Is it not VERY possible this could happen in some capacity at Bethel one day? I have considered the possibility before. All it would take is for someone who has dedicated decades to a lie to be awakened to the reality of the lies that the Watchtower Society spreads to control people. Can you imagine the anger that envelops someone when they realize they devoted 40 years of their life to a lie? Only to find out that the arrogant men in charge had been using them all along for personal gain?

  While I do not by any means condone such actions, I will say that it would be just desserts for the Governing Body members and their ilk. The evil that they have perpetrated on society by blood doctrines which kill children, protecting child molesters, etc. a swift DEATH would be too merciful for them IMHO.

  I hope Simon does not lock the thread. Wiltshire did not wish evil on anyone. He did not flame anyone. While I acknowledge that perhaps the title of the thread was sheer sensationalism, the content has merit.

  kind of similiar to minimus question, this one got me thinking.. the funniest for me has to be the elders telling me i should buy a 4-door car for field service and not to buy a camaro.

  i almost believed them.

  telling me in would not be proper to drive that in field service.

  one of the great things that this board offers is the ability to express yourself.

  sometimes, things we couldn't tell a person to their face, we can express here.

  or we might be able to give of ourselves, our experiences, our joys and frustrations......you name it!.......regarding my vent, it is that i can't understand why some post on these boards and yet are very pro witness.

  I agree with you cruzanheart.

  When people immigrate to the United States, it should be THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to learn the native language of English!

  As an example, if someone moved to Mexico, they would need to learn Spanish to function properly. People could not expect to speak English and broken-Spanish and be able to work with no communication problems there. In fact, you would be insulted and called "gringo" and other worse names for not speaking Spanish. Yet so many immigrate (legally AND illegally just shows how bad they want in the country) here and do not learn the language? What is even funnier is the same people would get mad with an American for the same behavior.

  i know it sounds impossible and probaly is.. but with the constant scandals, and all the info available, do you see the watchtower collapsing in our lifetime (from now to 2053) ?????????.

  Do I think the Watchtower as we know it will one day fall? Yes.

  Think of the drastic changes just in the last 30 years with information available, the overall education of the general public, the scandals so widely publicized, the false prophecies coming to pass, the mass exodus etc.

  They have had to resort to 15 minute monthly publishing rules just to keep the statistics up! (even though I personally believe the WT numbers are grossly inaccurate anyway, people lie on them to avoid being harassed by elders)

  They are a fringe cult as it is currently. 6 million wackos with left-field beliefs out of a population exceeding 6.5 billion. As time moves on, they will be forced to change to more mainstream doctrines to be accepted in the public if they wish to remain or grow. Otherwise they will become even more fringe than they are now.

  Gullible, naive people looking for answers in cults will never go away. Only the name of the cult and the beliefs they have change.

  BTW, not to get offtopic, but Stephanus, your new profile pic is HILARIOUS! I know that's an old picture of you. You looked like a fun-loving guy back then man. Almost reminds me of a bearded CarrotTop. HAHAHA

  I love myself, although only in the last year or so have I truly begun to cultivate this quality.

  You have to love yourself to be able to stand up for principles you believe in even if it means losing all the family and friends you have ever known.

  You have to love yourself when your family tells you they do not love you.

  However, I may love myself, but I am also my own harshest critic.

  An old catchphrase says that one can be their own worst enemy.

  Al Pacino fans.....rent "The Recruit"

  we rented this movie today and it was awesome!

  it had so many abrupt twist and turns i think i have whiplash!

  al pacino was a treat as usual and the new young actor (colin farrel) was exceptional.

  I rented this movie on Tuesday and it was WELL worth the money.

  Al Pacino delivers yet another masterful performance. (is there ever a role in which he is NOT exceptional?)

  I was also impressed with the up-and-coming Colin Farell. He delivered an excellent performance as well.

  RubyTuesday is right. There are an endless array of plot twists in this film.

  SPOILER ALERT:

  SCROLL DOWN

  This is one of the few roles where Al Pacino actually plays the bad guy.You do not find out he is the mastermind of the evil plot until the VERY end of the film, but this is in the last 10 minutes where Pacino gives an amazing performance. The last ten minutes make the entire film worthwhile.

  Infant baptism?

  isaac was still breast-feeding at 5. can you imagine him being old enough to get baptized?.

  here is a quote from plnlast month as many know my 6yr old and 8 yr old nieces were baptized.

  they will be giving their first assembly parts at the district convetion on 2 days june 8th and august 3rd...their father will also be in the part and he is also participating in the drama.

  That entire scenario makes me sick.

  Baptizing a 6 year old? Jehovah's Witnesses pride themselves on not having infant baptisms, making it a point to say that only those of age who are aware of the dedication they are making do so. Jesus was allegedly 30 when he was baptized, yet they approve of a mere child here?

  The hypocrisy is astounding.

  What IF this child got DF'ed? Theoretically all it would take is some mishap at school. A birthday party, a Valentine's Day card, accepting Halloween or Xmas presents. What then? Does the entire family and congregation shun and humiliate a CHILD?

  This child has all the years of junior high school and high school to come of age. I HIGHLY doubt this person will still be a faithful, loyal, baptized Dub 15 years from now at age 21.

I am also thankful I am not in the same region of thinking with men such as George W. Bush, Ariel Sharon, Saddam Hussein, and Yasser Arafat, men who hold human life in such low regard.
