Well another one leaves the Borg.
by John Aquila ini took a quick trip to the store and i happened to see a young man (about 26-28 years old) who got baptized about the same time i was leaving- about 2 years ago.
a couple of pioneer sisters found him in the door to door work.
one of them, a very attractive girl.

Jws, you just hope those that leave don't feel guilty for the rest of their lives, but either innately know it's BS, or allow themselves do RESEARCH and get to the point where they can move on instead of residing in a state of limbo....somewhere between bitterness and guilt. -

wt and charity
by zeb ini know of no charitable work by wt.
.
hm of the r&f live in poor situations who could be helped, raised out of their situation using the vast resources of the wt.. the wt could run job search programs to help unemployed get work.. it could run its own medical insurance in countries where such is prohibitively expensive.. " but if anyone has the worlds goods and sees a brother in need yet closes his hand against him how does gods love abide in him?

Think of all the houses that could be built if witnesses went to work with habitat for humanity on Saturday mornings instead of wasting time knocking on doors! -

Gov, regarding your second point, once I heard someone describe witnesses to someone else...'their religion is like, EVERYTHING to them.' Boy did he nail it. Unfortunately for those of us 'born in', we don't have a real family to go back to, after we leave. :,(
Regarding your third point, my favorite was always when a speaker said 'in the country of Africa...'

Jehovah's Witnesses and Plastic Surgery?
by John Aquila inin my area, a lot of the young jws, especially girls are getting breast implants, nose jobs, chin implants.
asian jws girls get eyelid surgery, and one girl even got her legs lengthen 5 inches making her about five feet nine inches tall the male jws are getting hair transplants and nose jobs.
and nobody in the congregation says a word, including elders.

I didn't even know plastic surgery for height was possible!!
This is rather disgusting, especially coming from people who think they are so 'spiritual', and who think the world is ending. What happens in paradise, their noses go back to what they were?

Our hall is asking for money...
by thedepressedsoul ini guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.
we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.
it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

I hate it. Hate it hate it hate it. It's how they've always spoken, but how do they manage to be treacly superior manipulative reprimanding money-grabbing hypocritical two-faced self righteous pious intimidating self-congratulating beggars, all at once? It's a skill. -

Music
by Mr.logic inwe would all agree that music whatever its form or genre, speaks to us, maybe a favorite childhood nursery rhyme, maybe dads music, etc.
a lot of us where shut down to such wordly things, some were not.
music has always helped me in hard times, that song, that artist, that let's get moving stuff, what speaks to you, its not a cure all, but what do you like?

Ok I'm confused about something. How can that form say 'be assured this goes for local operating expenses', when you all have said there's a new 'arrangement' where the society can take all excess funds in a congregations account?
Also, they say 'give us an interest free loan,' when the society has charged interest (which goes against very clear words in the Bible, btw) for building loans. The society can do it, but individual publishers can't, it's got to be interest free. And when would these loans be paid off? This seems like a problematic issue.
and what is the point of destroying the forms, when they are anonymous anyway, and their information is gathered and tallied?

WT is shorting literature orders by congregation with a problem contributing enough for literature $3500 just for mags
by oppostate inat our meeting last night there was a talk about having run out of magazines for the last three months.
it's expected this will continue to happen.
the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.

I think they are cutting back on their shipments on purpose. It costs less to ship 300 mags than 500. It costs less to produce them too. Ink is expensive, as is paper. We know they are hurting financially, have bitten off more than they can chew. This way, they can guilt publishers into contributing more money AND save on printing and shipping. -

Sorry! Had some trouble with freezing while posting there. Paradise beauty, I meant to say...if you tell them you are having trouble with some of their teachings, be sure to say you are researching their publications, trusting in the governing body, and praying to jehovah about it. If they think you might be a threat, and spread dissent, you will be disfellowshipped. So be sure to say you are keeping it to yourself, too. Good luck!!
